We are so grateful to Ruth! In 2023, we started looking for a home that would accommodate young children and aging parents in the greater Boston area on a budget, which was no easy task! From our first meeting, Ruth provided guidance and support through every part of the process. During the house hunt, she listened carefully and offered thoughtful feedback and suggestions. She showed endless patience as we defined and redefined our needs and preferences. Moreover, she was a kind, optimistic, and reassuring presence during this time in our lives. We ultimately made an offer on a house in need of renovation, which presented unique hurdles in the closing process. I cannot overstate the role Ruth played in making sure that we secured this home for our family. During this period, we often communicated with her daily to ensure we were taking the right steps and staying on schedule. She helped us brainstorm through so many challenges and figure out what to do next, and she connected us with an excellent team of people at every turn. We were so invested in buying our home and she was there with us every step of the way. Without her, I'm not sure we would have closed at all, much less on time! Throughout the process of buying a home, Ruth's guidance, knowledge, and support were indispensable. As first time homebuyers, we could not have had a better experience. We have tremendous gratitude for all of her help. If we're ever in the market again, she'll be the first person we call. And if you have an opportunity to work with Ruth, take it! We can say with total confidence that she is someone you want on your team. read more

Ruth was great to work with when selling our condo. 1. It sold for a price we were happy with. 2. It sold in a timeline we were happy with. 3. It sold while we had already moved out and moved to another town. 4. It sold in the crazy times of covid. 5. It sold. Go with Ruth, you'll be happy. read more

Working with Ruth to sell our home and find a new one was one of the best experiences we've had. Especially during stressful times, Ruth's extensive knowledge of the market, network of high quality professionals that didn't break the bank, calm, professionalism, attentiveness, reassurance, and just the right amount of humor helped us tremendously with the process. We loved the professional quality photos of our home and successful open houses. We sold our condo within 3 weeks from listing in the dead of winter. Ruth is responsive and helpful in every way. Ruth was wonderful to work with and we would highly recommend her if you are buying a home in the Boston area. She was responsive and knowledgeable and so incredibly friendly. She took a lot of stress off of the buying house process... pointing out things to watch out for, reminding us of what we said we wanted when we started the process, and helping with things like recommending great inspectors to choose from. We loved working with her and if/when we buy again, we will be calling Ruth. read more

Ruth was able to sell my condo where another agent had failed after six months on the market and no offers. She took care of everything, bringing in a contractor to fix the place up and get it presentable for an open house, cleaning, as well as managing a stressful situation with troublesome neighbors. Ruth was professional, thorough, and responsive through the entire process. Ultimately we got multiple competitive offers above asking, when I had nearly given up hope of selling at all. Thank you Ruth! read more

We could not recommend Ruth strongly enough. We set out 5~6 years ago to find a good real estate agent. What we found was a sincere friend who happens to also be a very effective agent. Her friendship, professionalism, and her overall humanity is unparalleled. When we first purchased our home through her, we were living out of state and had a weekend to find a house and make an offer. Even in a market as competitive as Boston and the immediate surroundings, we did. My college mate who initially introduced her to us, described her succinctly this way "Ruth is action biased, she will get it done!" Fast forward a few years where our job sent us out of state again and we need to sell in the middle of a global pandemic. Ruth took our keys and sent us on our way. She took care of everything - arranged for unwanted items to be removed, her concierge service organized and paid for the staging, she routinely updated us on the process and offers, checked on us, and worked tirelessly for us to not have to worry about a single item related to the sell back in Massachusetts. She is more an agent, she is a true asset! read more

Ruth is trustworthy, available, kind, honest, a skilled negotiator, professional and knowledgeable. Ruth is incredibly patient and showed me many homes until I found "the one". She was always available to look at the homes I was interested in and was quick to point out potential issues with the homes. When it came down to putting an offer down on a home, I found myself in a multiple offer situation. Ruth was a fantastic negotiator and gave me the best advice to ensure my offer was accepted. I am thrilled with my new house! When the time comes to sell and buy again, Ruth will be the realtor I choose. I am extremely grateful for all that Ruth did to make my experience as stress free as possible! read more

Ruth is absolutely amazing. We had been stuck in cycle of maybe we will maybe we won't with another agent for two years. Then, we met Ruth. She took time to help us sort through our situation, identify our priorities, get our finances in order, properly assess what needed to be done, and find a new home. On top of that, she sold our condo in a weekend. We were shocked, thrilled, amazed, and astonished at how easy and seamless she made it for us. But most importantly, Ruth is not your typical plastic cookie cutter agent. She cares. She works tirelessly for her clients. She wants what's best for you, for your situation, for your life. It's a subtle, but important nuance that guides her way of doing business, her partners, and her philosophy. Work with Ruth - you won't regret it, and you'll likely be better off for it. She (and her team) are just plain awesome. read more

Ruth is a fantastic real estate agent. I was a first time home buyer and she did a wonderful job of teaching and nudging me on things I didn't know while respecting my preferences and pursuing my interests. In the convoluted universe of real estate Boston, Ruth is a unique shining star. I was lucky to work with her on buying the condo, which now I own. We all know how tough it is to buy property in such an aggressive selling market that Boston painfully and unfortunately is. I will not turn this into a whine on the market, but to a very large extent this is simply mission impossible. However, when your broker is Ruth, this is mission accomplished...in style and efficiency. Ruth combines experience, instinct, market knowledge and insights, ethics, talent, perseverance, passion, patience, commitment, resilience, agility, and most important of all, superb client representation. Ruth does not get tired, nor does she ever stop putting efforts even in the most extreme and adverse situations to only get valuable insights and feedback, which she immediately incorporates when planning the next move. Ruth understands the client's needs perfectly and fights for the client she represents within a very clear framework of ethical values and fair play. Another thing I have noted by attending 50+ open houses is that she is very well respected and regarded by the brokers' community here in Boston. You certainly want that in your broker! While I thank Ruth for her excellent professionalism and human values, I wish her all the best in the future and look forward to working with her again. read more

Selling our condo in Brighton and buying our house in Natick was made much simpler with the help of Ruth Lerner. From start to finish Ruth helped us with any questions we had about the process and calmed our fears. We worried that we were going to be outbid and never find our perfect house, or overbid and pay too much. She was able to remind us that it's not how much the house is worth, but how much it's worth to you. In the end we found our dream home and we couldn't be happier. read more

I can't speak highly enough about Ruth Malkin and my experience buying a home with her help. I worked with several realtors before I met Ruth. When buying a house as a single mother, I wanted to make sure I worked with a realtor I trusted and had my best interest in mind. Ruth is trustworthy, available, kind, honest, a skilled negotiator, professional and knowledgeable. Ruth is incredibly patient and showed my many homes until I found "the one". Ruth is outstanding! Dedicated, professional, and hard-working, we could not have asked for a better realtor. In the incredibly difficult Newton MA market, she knew what to do and when to do it, was agile and shrewd, and got us a fabulous deal on our first home. If you are a young family like us, if you need a great home, or simply need a top professional, we give Ruth the highest recommendation without reservation! read more

Another great experience with Ruth, we used her to sell our condo a year ago and she was phenomenal. This time around we enlisted her services to help us find a home in Newton. Our criteria were strict and we knew exactly what we were looking for, but also had a tight budget. Ruth was very realistic with us that we may not find what we were looking for and if we did it might be a house that needed a lot of work, but she was also positive saying that she would help us find something and that she had been able to pull similar things off in Newton for other people. She sent us a couple of listings that we went to see and we found the PERFECT home for us. The process of buying the home was a little tough because we had to sell our home first, but she helped us navigate the situation easily. It all came together beautifully with her expert advice and help, and she went out of her way to make sure it was a smooth and easy transaction for us. Ruth is simply the best, I recommend her to everyone I know and she is the only agent we will ever use if we need an agent again (although we are hoping after buying and selling two homes in two years that we will never be moving again, lol). read more

We just closed on our condo in Roslindale yesterday, and I have to say that our experience with Ruth Lerner as our realtor was as smooth "as butta!" (reference to Mike Meyers' characterization of SNL's Coffee Talk lady). She set up a tight but realistic calendar which we stuck to, and within two weeks of signing with her, we had our first open house! I would NOT have said we could have done this, if it were not for her great to-do lists and steady guidance on how to present to potential buyers in the best possible way. She stayed in touch with us all the time without feeling like she was hovering. We needed to move within 8 weeks, and miraculously--but only accomplished with Ruth's astute steering--our pricing and preparation seemed just perfect for the best and most realistic market price. Even after we cleared out for the final time and moved out of state a couple of weeks before our closing, Ruth handled all the little details that needed to be tied up at the end, and our closing was really smooth! Everything that everyone says about her is absolutely right on target!! Best choice we made in regard to the whole process! read more
