Great race track way out in the middle of no where. Yes, the boondocks is where this is. It's about…read more4 miles away from the closest freeway. But, I was glad I went because I enjoyed the races. This is a drag strip of course as you see by my photos I took. Story: I got here early around 4pm on a Saturday. I paid $10 for admission to enter the race track from a nice little lady at the gate. They don't have much room to watch the race from the tailgate of your truck which I like. So I walked to the grandstands to watch the race. By the way, the grandstands are not covered with a roof. So, where a hat and some sunglasses. I did wish that I brought some ear plugs though. It is pretty loud here as most cars don't have much of a muffled engine. On scene: They do have facilities with bathrooms along with sinks and running water where you can wash your hands. The only concession stand that was open was the one under the call tower ( see photo). The concession stand was not open around the grandstands where I chose to sit. You can see all of the race track from the grandstands if you sit up kind a high like I did. Parking is good as I could park just about anywhere I wanted. They do have a scoreboard at the end of the track. I could here the announcer somewhat if I wanted to. Furthermore, it's pretty easy to get in and out of the track once you get here. Most of all, there was no one around me smoking. But, that could be because there was not many people in the grandstands. Now, there was a lot of people here but they were all race car drivers, pit crew members or race track officials.

Always a great time when I get the chance to come. I don't always participate but it's still just…read moreas fun to hangout with and support your buddies!

It is a 1/8th mile paved drag strip. History: Opened on April 16th, 1967. Formerly Middle Tennessee Drag Strip, it also goes by the name Buffalo Valley Dragway. Features: They do have facilities here with running water where you can wash your hands. Also, they have bathrooms. They have small grandstands here but are not covered with a roof like most race tracks I have been to. They are also have a concession stand with reasonable prices. On Scene: I got to the race track about 4:40pm on a Saturday. The admission was $10 which was a pretty reasonable price. I was met my a woman who had me sign my name on Entrance sheet. Then, I drove my truck along side a fence beside the small grandstand. I had a great view of racing from my truck without having to get out which is what I wanted since it was cold outside. Great view of the race cars as you can see from the photos I took and added to this listing. The drag racing did not start until 6pm. But, once racing started, it was pretty entertaining. In summary, you have a choice of where to view the races. You can sit in the grandstands, sit in your truck or you can sit on your tailgate. However, you can also bring your own lawn chairs and set them up for your comfort. I would check their Facebook page to see when the races actually start and show up then. Gates today opened at 4 but races didn't start until 6pm. This was on their Facebook page. I thought they would have test and tune between 4 and and 6 like other race tracks I have been to. Instead it was boring during this time.

Both are late model race car drivers and are local too. The races are on Friday or Saturday nights on the weekend. Most races are on Saturday nights but sometimes they have dirt track races on Friday nights. The cars are divided into classes which include crate late models, limited late models, steel head late models, pony, A-hobby, B-hobby and sometimes they even have special event racing like road warriors and topless late models. The admission is $12 for the grand stands if you are a race fan. Now, pit passes are $25 for all crew members, owners, drivers and etc. I sat on the grand stands in a couple places and you can view the race track pretty good as I really enjoyed it and it was very entertaining. The concession stands are easily accessible with no lines I encountered both times I visited them. They have ham burgers, hot dogs, nachos with cheese, cokes, Dr. Pepper, Sprite and even sweet tea. I had no problem finding a parking space and most importantly was able to leave the track with getting into a traffic jam. This area is what I call a "loud area" with a Drag Strip close by, a rock company nearby, and an interstate nearby too. Now just down the road is Cabelas. So check out that sporting goods store before coming here. All of this is on the same road within one mile. Just turn right leaving the track.

Me and my two sons got a burger, a Bologna burger, nachos, a water, two Poweraids and a coke for 17 bucks. Beers were Bud Light, Micelob and Yingling, 4 bucks a pop. Tall ones at that, only lighter choices though. The only problem I has was trying to find ANYWHERE on their FB page or website the policy on outside food/drink. Signs outside said no. However, MANY people people brought it in. I saw Popeyes and Sonic drinks, plenty of folks with Igloo coolers with sandwiches. So.... unsure what the deal on it it. No one checked bags or anything so I'm taking some IPAs next time. Still pay for beer to give my business, but enjoy my own beer choice. Parking is easy and free, that was a plus. Their staff is extremely friendly and polite. Helpful and seem to enjoy their job. Would you wanna go to an event where the people working were sad sacks? Me ether. FYI, if you sit in Turn 1, be prepared to eat a LOT of dust. Take some hearing protection for the bigger races and eye protection.
