Great menu and food quality for most part. Atmosphere is great. Have alot of issues to get worked out with it being a new restaurant. Complaints: They forgot my side of corn, forgot the bacon on the loaded chicken meal of another guest I was with. Mash potatoes are instant and gravy is prepackaged, would prefer homemade. But all in all great atmosphere with spacious room and alot of TVs. Noise level is a little loud and sound echo's because of how big & open it is. This is the Go-To Restaurant in a 30 mile radius of Smith County. read more

I am with my sister in law. She eats fried chicken every Sunday at restraunts from Hays, Ks to Alma, Nebraska and she declaees that Rusty tractor has the best Chicken dinner in Kansas. LOL but their "hot tea machine is br9ke". I guess young people don't realize water can be bouled or microwaved to make hot tea :) read more

UPDATE. This place has improved 100%. New management, new menu. Food choices are concise and well prepared. Meats served are local and fresh. Sometimes service can be a bit slow, otherwise, a great spot with good food. Enjoy! read more

The first reaction you have to this place is... Why is the here? I mean it's a restaurant large enough that it could probably fit almost the entire town's residents in it at once. That said, it's very clean, looks great, has friendly staff, and decent food. Had a burger for lunch. The bun was a bit wimpy but the rest of the burger was good. The fries were downright perfect. We have stopped in twice now within a week as we are having some work done in Smith Center, ks. On our EXCEL 5th wheel. The owner and the staff are very nice and on of the service you receive. We just ate their tonight which is "Fried Chicken, all you can eat night", and OMG, amazing! The best Fried Chicken and gravy to die for!! I'm not kidding. We will definitely stop in again when passing by. read more

Eat here if you want to wait 2 hours for cold, under cooked food. Had a good menu and good atmosphere, but no one wants to wait this long. We should have believed the reviews of friends. They were spot on. Extremely slow, if you get your food at all. If they want this place to be respectable, get a new manager, cook, or whatever is needed. Need to up date your hours. We drove 40 miles one way on a Monday to eat and you were closed. I looked first to see if you would be open and it said you were open until 8:00 p.m. Never ate at your place before and really wanted to try it. read more

I will start this posting by stating that I did not visit this restaurant personally, but a very close friend of mine had such a great experience here that I had to share. This restaurant is perfect for long haulers who are looking for a homey environment and a full plate of comfort food. Their restaurant is located right off a main road, and their parking lot is huge and borders on an empty field, so there's plenty of space to maneuver and park an 18-wheeler. Service is fast and friendly, the interior is clean, and the food is prepared well. It's not easy finding a decent place to stop and eat when you're driving a ginormous truck and are in the middle of nowhere far away from your family, but this place will make you feel right at home! read more

Great atmosphere, great food- this restaurant has home cooking done great. Very cool restaurant concept in a rural setting. If you want a large selection of comfort food, you won't be disappointed. Many large TVs, log cabin/barn like environment that has a good wow factor when you come in. read more

Here is my original review from 1/2/2015 and an update below from today: I am a VERY patient person and I have tried to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt. My patience is now wearing. My very first experience was about a week after it opened, and I went on what understandably was a very busy night. I ordered, but after waiting 2 1/4 hours, still hadn't received my meal! Due to already being late for where I was scheduled to be, I left without my order and still left the very-understanding waitress a $5.00 tip. I thought in time the problems would all be ironed out and things would get better.....WRONG!!! They are on at least the third manager now, and my last few lunch portions have been comparable to the Michelle Obama school lunch program meal in size! Apparently, they have gone into cost-saving mode and have cut drastically back on portions. This place is in dire need of improvement .......and sooner rather than later!!! 1/23/2015 Update: Today I ordered the special which was chicken and dumplings and had someone pick up a "to go" order for me. It came in a Styrofoam folding box with a small cup filled 2/3 full of chicken and dumplings, a tiny dinner roll, and about a cup of corn along with a 16 oz. drink (iced tea). This cost me $7.50 and if it was worth $3.00 that would have been stretching it! read more
