They're the best chicken I've had in Louisville, crispy, fresh, tender and cooked to perfection. I first discovered them at the Pegasus Parade two years ago (on Broadway and 3rd). We got a basket of fried chicken wings, chicken tenders, and some fries. The kids were fighting over these and I had to make a few trips back. The price is a bargain comparing to some other overpriced food trucks, especially considering the amount of food I got. Other offerings include BBQ rib tips, corn dog, hot dog, Polish sausage, fish, etc. I can't find any information on their regular location. The other time I've spotted them was at the Old Louisville Spring Fest.

I appreciated they sent out a snapshot of their menu early on. I got a strawberry french toast crepe. It was thick, closer to pancake consistency with syrup soaked in and fresh strawberries on top. I was expecting something lighter but this was very filling. I also got a breakfast crepe with bacon. It was stuffed with eggs, cheese and fresh spinach. The bacon was crumbled and they gave us a ton of it. Depending on your hunger level you might split them into two meals or share. Along with a bottled water I got a Dole pineapple whip. Pineapple juice, bits of pineapple and vanilla sorbet. Really good, not overly sweet because the gelato calms it down but it warmed up about midway through and needed ice or to be chilled. Drink fast! Overall I highly recommend a savory crepe. Huge, filling and not heavily breaded as compared to my strawberry crepe.

I'm the furthest thing from an expert on crepes so I'm not 100% sure how long it takes to cook a crepe, plus we got 4 crepes, so maybe that's why? Either way, it was well worth the wait! The crepes were AWESOME! The savory crepes were delicious, but of course, I thought the sweet crepe we had (strawberry french toast crepe) was outstanding! I will definitely hit up this food truck if I ever get the chance to!

And this is the sweet spot where Lil Cheezers lives, taking that childhood favorite that every former-kid I know remembers fondly, and elevating that experience for your adult tastebuds. My latest Cheezers experience was a caprese grilled cheese sandwich, with basil, tomato, and balsamic vinegar adding that familiar tang to the rich mozzerella and chewy grilled bread. Served with a pickle and potato chips and my tastebuds are in *heaven.* My 7 year old daughter got the Plain Jane and finished both halves of her sandwich, a minor miracle that let me know she loved this lunch option. I haven't had a chance yet to try the hot brown grilled cheese but that's in my sites for next time we meet the Lil Cheezers food truck. Finally - there's rumor of a *secret menu* item. I learned from friends yesterday that you can ask for the s'mores dessert and they'll hook you up with this off-menu dessert. I couldn't possibly eat more after that filling lunch but it may be perfect to split amongst friends in the know.

Dreamcatcher Farm has a great burger ($5) and quiche and I'm enamored with their tomato pie, which only seems to show up some of the time. Kassidy's Kackle House offers $4 sandwiches with freshly (and locally) made chicken salad or egg salad (among others). This week a Texas-style tamale stand showed up. And Cake Flour is always there with their breads and sweets. Plus, you can get your soaps and flowers and baked goods, canned goods, if that's your thing. I think the market has acquired enough of a following that the number of vendors is only going to improve. It's great to have access to fresh, locally grown food in the downtown area. And to have another good & affordable lunch option. Runs mid-May through October.

On the Saturday afternoon that we attended there were a few variety of booths that we saw, I noticed that the festival housed multiple booths of the same ethnic cuisine and a few different booths, so there wasn't as much variety as I expected it to be. The performances that I saw were really good, but it was honestly difficult to enjoy the festival in it's entirety because it was so hot outside. I tried the sweet potato cheesecake at the southern food booth and the strawberry sorbet and the gelato booth and those were really good. The saw a few music performances and one of the cultural dances and I really enjoyed the dance. I really wish I could've stayed longer to see more performances, but with the heat they were spread too far apart in the day to stay longer.
