I visited Dr. Rustad last year for my yearly skin examination. Reception was very friendly and helpful and it was easy to make an appointment. I appreciated the reminders I received about my appointment so that I didn't go scatter brained and miss it. The office is in an older building, but the office space itself has a relaxing and comfortable feel to it. Upon arriving I was greeted by friendly and professional front desk staff and given a short health history form. I waited only 15 mins or so till they brought me back in the room. After reviewing my concerns with his assistant I waited about 30 mins for the doctor himself. Dr. Rustad was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. It was enjoyable to discuss different medical topics with him. The moles he removed went quick and painlessly. Though I did scar more than he anticipated, they are not on frequently visible areas so it isn't really a big deal. I received a call from his office with my biopsy results the following week. The only comment is there seemed to be a little mix up with my bill. I didn't get one! I had to call and remind them. I went in several weeks ago for adult acne, after going to another dermatologist for treatment which never cleared it up. I went to Dr Rustad, and within two weeks his treatment cleared up my skin! I spent $$ and months on the other treatment without results. He knows what he's doing. I found him funny and pleasant during my visits. Went here for over a year, and like most teenagers I suffer from acne. It's not a big deal, a lot of people of all ages have it. Not only was the wait always long (over 45 minutes at times) but I left multiple times in tears due to literal pain (he would always pop or push down on my acne but also made me feel bad about myself). I went to Dr. Rustad for my first dermatology appt after my brother was diagnosed with melanoma. I asked for a mole check and wanted to know if I had any concerning moles. As I was laying on my stomach, I received a wipe and shot on my back without warning. Without showing me a picture, describing, or discussing the concerning moles with me, he began to remove them without my consent. I felt very uncomfortable because I couldn't see anything he was doing. Half way through he asked me if I had good insurance. When I told him BCBS, he said I would be fine. He removed 6 moles and I left he office crying. I am now being charged $1,000 for the mole removal and testing. I have called the office several times and haven't had any answers or anything resolved. Awful experience. I went in to deal with some acne issues. The doctor was belligerent, creepy, and rudely told me to stop wearing so much makeup (that I use to cover up the acne!). Then he did a full-body skin check. They left me in the room to take off my clothes and gave me a small sheet instead of a gown. When I asked for a gown, I was given a cloth gown that had stains on it. Anyway, I had a moderate-sized mole on my butt cheek that he insisted I remove. I reluctantly said okay, and before I knew it he jammed a needle into my butt and sliced that thing off in a flash. I now have a red, raised scar bigger in diameter than the original mole. On top of all of that, my insurance only covered a small portion of my bill, and I was billed for EVERYTHING... I think the bandaid I was given was on my bill. If I have to ever go to a dermotologist, I would have to recommend Dr. Rustad. He has removed pre-cancer cells from my lip and face, it hasn't left any scars so far. Went for 2 appointments, both times 40+ minute waits, which was very unprofessional. Loud TV on in the waiting room, so irritating as well. Dr. Rustad was friendly but didn't solve the problem or communicate clearly what he thought it was. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Dr. Rusted does amazing things! I love the fact that he takes a safe approach to treating acne with my teenagers and not putting them on a Rx drug that is harmful enough that my daughter would need to be on birth control! His nurses are awesome too! The only complaint I have is they are usually running behind schedule but I see it as he's very busy with lots of clients and that is a good thing to me! Terrible Experience. I wish I would have read more reviews before I went here. I did wait about an hour for my appointment, which was the least of my worries. The doctor barged in while I was talking with the nurse (luckily wasn't undressing). He made several comments about my looks such as "Finally some eye candy in here on a Friday" and "you have some long legs on you" that made me feel very uncomfortable I almost walked out then. But I thought I might be overreacting. I decided not to put the gown on in fear he might try to come in while I was undressing. I only show him one mole I was worried about but he kept making comments about my appearance, my legs, how "attractive" I was that made me feel gross. I've never experienced anything like that in my life. I didn't let him remove the mole and said I would "make an appointment" which I ended up basically running out of there to get out as fast as I could. It's unfortunate that in 2018 women still have to deal with this. read more

I would give 0 stars if it let me. I work in a family practice office, so I know how patients are supposed to be treated. I took my 2 1/2 year old in for eczema which covers roughly 75% of her body. She developed it at around 2 months old. We have tried close to 100 different lotions, soaps, creams, medications, etc. I thought with his experience he is sure to know how to help. The wait was not long, maybe 15 minutes, he was in the room quicker than his assistant could walk out. She asked for more information than he did. He came in with a student, and another assistant that was perhaps there for dictation, nobody was introduced to us, nor were we asked if a student could also evaluate her. He never once asked how long she has suffered, what we have tried, what's worked/hasn't, nothing! He immediately came in, grabbed her arms, looked and said the scratching was all psychological and for attention and should be ignored. He said she should spend as much time as possible in the bath each day, not to use any soaps and only use the laundry soap he gave me samples of (the exact same kind we've used her whole life) He said it wasn't allergies so don't bother testing her. When I stated she was already tested for other reasons he proceeded to tell me that was a waste of time and money and we should have come to him from day 1. He took out his prescription pad and gave my 2 year old child a prescription for a medication that is typically just used for anxiety (he said it would help her sleep) We left that office and have not looked back. I can't say that I will be sending ANY of my patients to him in the future. read more

Was able to call and get in within an hour as a new patient from out of town. Dr. Troy was very informative and very hands on. Really appreciated his honest approach to my treatment plan. I had cystic acne on my face four years ago. Rustad the elder ruined my face. He poked at my cheeks with something that looked like a piece of broken plastic. He then injected something into them, a steroid or something. I was given an rx for retin -a which burned my facial skin (yes, a pea sized amount) but was great for my stretch marks elsewhere. He suggested blue-light therapy, which is nothing more than the same UV exposure from a common tanning bed. The cost is unnecessary for all of these "treatments". I ended up researching on my own, finding a topical sulfur ointment at a Mexican Grocery store here in Lincoln and healing myself. Years later my husband needs assistance and I'm considering travel to a beautiful exotic destination so we can have a vacation and get our ears cleaned, teeth scaled and maybe even a cyst removed on a street in Vietnam or India rather than go to a cold inefficient Western Dr. such as this one. Just because they have an office, equipment, certificate and staff does not mean they care about your problems nor do they have integrity and cures or solutions. They do care about your money. read more
