A month later, Doug Howard said it was now too cold to paint and he'd have to come back in the spring. They left the plastic on the windows ALL WINTER. In the spring, he brought a couple of guys, and they finished in about two days. Then he asked me to step inside, told me the price of paint had risen drastically since the fall, and he needed another $800. He was so threatening, I paid him the money. I would not recommend.

I eventually hired another painter who finished the job in a few days with no stress, no surprises, no overcharges - and no blaming me for their inability to get a simple job done. My main reasons (and photos) are below: 1. Started Late, Didn't Finish: contract timelines not kept; on the day the job was supposed to be done, sent me a written cancellation late at night after zero communication that entire day; did not return to finish the job even though I offered an extra 30 days for them to come back and resume work; not one room, not even one wall, was ever finished. 2. Caused Damage: lack of tarping and draping caused overspray/drips on floors/fixtures; lint was painted into previously smooth walls requiring extra sanding to fix; paint bled over previously straight lines at trim/baseboards; they never met us to discuss fixing any of this despite their promises. 3. Surprise Charges: added a surprise "sales tax" amount not in original price quote; charged my credit card for the full contract amount even though job wasn't done; charged my card for the initial deposit a second time when I began disputing credit card charges.
