Apt was very clean, repainted, floors re-varnished before I moved in. Some cons are that this is an older complex and there's very little insulation between units- neighbors will be heard! Also no on-site parking for guests, street parking in Cedar Grove is restricted at night so you have to call the police to let them know the car belongs to you.

They keep the grounds and facilities clean every day and are quick to respond to any issues that may arise. They are always very helpful to the needs of all the residents here. Do your homework and talk to current residents before signing a lease here…read more When we moved into this building, it was beautiful, well-maintained, and well-managed by Urby. Since management changed to Bozzuto, our experience has been dramatically different. Before signing a lease, prospective tenants should speak directly with current residents rather than relying solely on what they are told during the leasing process. In our experience, communication from management becomes extremely difficult once you are a resident. Phone calls and emails frequently go unanswered, and unlike the previous management company, whose office was accessible to residents, the management office is now generally kept locked. One of the biggest changes was the elimination of the front-desk concierge, which had been staffed from approximately 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The concierge received packages, greeted visitors, and provided an important level of security. The current package-room system has been extremely frustrating. We have had numerous packages go missing or appear days or even weeks later. When residents ask management for help locating missing packages, there seems to be little or no follow-up. Grocery deliveries have even been left outside at the curb. Security has also become a concern. Without the concierge, we regularly see people we do not recognize in the elevators and stairwells. Residents have also dealt with serious maintenance and cleanliness concerns. There have been widespread complaints among residents about roaches, as well as reports of rodents and droppings in common areas. The trash and recycling rooms on each floor can feel like one large open garbage can, and residents have reported seeing roaches crawling on the floors of these rooms. Yet when residents have raised pest concerns, they have often been told that the problem is isolated to their individual apartment rather than seeing the issue proactively addressed building-wide. Other issues residents have experienced include leaking or malfunctioning air-conditioning units, residents going extended periods during the summer without functioning A/C, flooding in the parking garage during heavy rain, staining on vehicles parked in the garage, poorly maintained common areas, and outdoor rooftop furniture with what appears to be black mold. The recently renovated hallways were fitted with off-white carpeting that became noticeably stained almost immediately, and there have also been problems with pet urine and odors in elevators and hallways. Residents pay a monthly amenity fee, yet the rooftop and rooftop lounge are sometimes unavailable because they are reserved for Bozzuto's corporate events. There have also been complaints about substantial move-out charges for relatively minor wear. One other thing prospective residents should keep in mind when looking at this building's Google rating: management actively solicits Google reviews from residents. Given the level of frustration we have heard from many current residents, I strongly recommend speaking directly with people who actually live here rather than relying solely on online ratings and reviews. What makes all of this especially frustrating is the lack of communication and follow-through. Problems are too often minimized, dismissed, or left unresolved. This was once a beautiful, well-maintained building with accessible management and a strong emphasis on resident service. Our experience under the current management has been a major decline from what the building once was. Before signing a lease, talk to the people who actually live here.

First the tennent upstairs was very noisy and was reprimanded several times to no avail. Although 95% of the maintenance department were friendly, the supervisor was a real curmudgeon! If you like pets, this is the place for you. One thing, the airplanes start flying overhead at 5am so don't plan on sleeping late and the property sits on the former site of a jail and sanatorium. There are a lot of woods behind the property which freaks me out. The pools are nice and the gym is OK. They built a yoga or Pilates studio for the snooty, pretentious women there.

Since Sparrow Property Management took over, the building has gone downhill quickly. The property is consistently filthy -- common areas are dirty, trash is poorly maintained, and basic upkeep is not being done. It feels like no one is responsible for keeping the building livable. Basic services are also being neglected. For example, there has been no heat in the lobby or elevators for over 72 hours, with no vendors on-site to address the issue. Snow removal is inadequate and unsafe. Entrances, sidewalks, and walkways are poorly cleared during storms, creating dangerous conditions for residents. Management is essentially nonexistent. The property manager is rarely on-site, there is no visible oversight, and communication is terrible. When issues are raised, they are often ignored or dismissed. Being told directly that "monitoring the property is not her job" is both shocking and unacceptable. Like many renters, I do not currently have the financial ability to move, so I am forced to live with these declining conditions. There is no pride in maintaining this property and no real accountability. Profit has clearly taken priority over providing a clean and safe living environment. AVOID THIS BUILDING AT ALL COSTS!

Worst management and place ever! When we initially moved in…read more2017, it was good. However, the last 3 years were very bad. We resided there from 2017 to 2023. First, be careful if you still live there, as they stole $565 from our security deposit. Management sent an email stating that they would charge a cleaning fee, but then ultimately they used a portion of our security deposit to replace the washing machine?!! Which we left in a good condition!! We will be contacting a lawyer regarding that. If you are thinking about renting there, let me tell you about the issues we faced there in the last 2 years. Our packages were getting stolen, and the management did not do much until, we, "the residents", started reporting the incidents to the police, and the person who was stealing the packages still lives in the building until this moment! More than once , there was an unleashed pitbull running around the cars and in the kids area! Of course, I called the management and they did nothing as usual. Also, they charged us an entire month of rent for an empty apartment despite that we lived there for 6 years, and we never were late a day to pay our rent on time, even during COVID. A 45 days notice was not enough for them I guess! During our last year there, I didn't feel safe, and it was not worth the $2500 we were paying. We are glad to be out of this complex, and I will never recommend it to anyone.

The complex sits right on top of highway route 46 and depending on you unit, you WILL hear the highway every second of every day. Some units are louder and much closer to the highway then desirable. They offer garages with electricity built into the bill at a preimum price. There is a pool available for summer months to enjoy though it isn't that big. Its location is close to everything you need and for college students, graduates and couples just starting out its a great place to live. The superintendent lives in the complex and gets around to service calls within a few days depending on the severity of the need. I really didn't have any complaints living here. I think it was a good price for what you get. The highway being so close is definitely a negative and if you don't get to know the property manager and super, you might wait a tad longer for your service call to be completed then you would like. So just make your face known, give a call every now and then and you really shouldn't have a problem.
