I found service online and it was very close and had decent reviews. The ride on needed a new blade that had bent by hitting a gully at the wrong angle. Brought it to Randy and he advised minimum charge was $165 plus parts. Kind of pricey but he said he would go over the whole mower and tune up. When he called to say it was ready, he indicated another $100 dollars in parts. I asked how the blade looked and he said "the blade?" And I reminded him that was the initial reason I brought it. He said fine, he'd replace it and no further charge. When I picked it up said he replaced the gas, changed the oil and did a tune up. Got it home, ran it down one length of yard to put in shed until w/e when I could mow. Ran ok but no better than before. Tried to start it up on weekend, no go! Made a sound but no turnover. Called Randy - first he told my daughter's bf to syphon the gas and put new gas because it was probably old. Huh? That didn't work so begged him to come to house(less than 2 miles from his house) he came said it was the ignition coil and to bring it by him, he'd charge hour of labor plus parts- which would have made it necessary to rent a trailer. So I had a friend who is a mechanic look at it and he replaced the coil which cost $15 dollars on line and took about 3 minutes. It started right up but still seemed to him a little rough so he looked at the spark plug which he said was corroded. Another few dollars and we should be good. I am assuming the blade was changed but we will find out tomorrow when we do the lawn. I'm not sure exactly what actually was done to the mower but obviously the gas was not replaced as told to me and spark plug not replaced. I just felt out of good business practice and given how close he was to the house, he could have come and offered to change the coil; still charge but make it convenient since I had just spent $265 for a blade? Added tonight- tryed to mow. The belt that makes blade turn keeps falling off. Looks new but clearly wrong size! read more

I want to say that I think I found the best small engine guy around. He talked to me like a person not a customer. I had questions about my lawn mower and my riding mower. He talked to me and told me how I should take care of things through the year. Also told me if I ever have a problem to just call and he would be happy to help any time.
