Although its table service, we were drawn to the tempting looking cakes under the counter, the coffee cake looked fantastic and I liked the fact you could see the staff preparing cakes, salads etc, behind the counter. But breakfast was definitely the order of the day, a decent amount of choice from teacakes to a Full English. I went for the Bacon and Sausage Sandwich with doorstep granary bread, fantastically tasty, courtesy of high quality ingredients and very fresh bread. My wife had a large teacake which was equally tasty. The drinks we had were OK, the cappuccino a little milky, and the coffee a little weak, but on the whole, a great breakfast, all the better with the wonderfully sunny outlook, this tearoom has. We will definitely return for breakfast again and to sample those tempting cakes. A few other things worth mentioning, they sell bread, cakes and rolls too, as well as making celebration cakes to order. Be aware though, the only toilet is up some steep stairs.

There used to be a Butchers on site (hence the name) but that seems to have gone, replaced by a chilled counter selling a more limited range of meat, pies etc. I did notice though, that you can place an order, from a more extensive range, if you wish. The coffee house is a real find though, very popular, with an eclectic mix of chairs and tables to suit all types of party, with outside seating out on the boardwalk, making full use of the panoramic view of the marina. They have a fantastic selection of homemade cakes, including tempting slices of coffee cake, chocolate cake, Millionaires shortbread, to name but a few. A good range of hot drinks too, including strong and flavoursome coffees and the full range of Teapigs tea, all accompanied by a small bottle of milk, a nice touch. The hot food is equally impressive too, I can heartily recommend the breakfast sausage cobs, generous in size, richly flavoured sausages and Wilkin & Sons tomato sauce, perfect! We've also had a couple of lunches here too, roasted vegetable paninis with a dressed salad and generous bowl of vegetable crisps, enough for two, if you just fancy a light lunch. So instead we ordered platters for our group of 12 from The Granary Canvas about 10 minutes away. The landlady was quite happy for us to do this and there were a few other tables of people eating take out food too. The staff at the Granary Canvas were incredibly friendly and we had no problems with pre-ordering food over the phone and paying over the phone. The prices were good and the portion sizes were very big and having it all delivered to the pub for us was great too.
