My GPS was lost and we had to do a lap before we spotted the right place. You use your room key for everything. You think I'm kidding but I'm not. Lifts, gym, sauna, pool, room, electricity, car park even the resort doors after hours. Carry it on you all the time or you'll end up stranded somewhere. When you check in they give you a welcome pack that includes vouchers for a couple of local restaurants. Use them, the restaurants are great I especially like Hot Pipis, check my review on that one. The smell when we got to our room was over powering. The cleaners must have dropped a bottle of deodorizer but even they knew it was to much the door to the balcony was left open. I had ordered, and paid for, extra towels which weren't in the room when we arrived. On the way past the front desk I mentioned it and even though it was after hours and one of the reception girls had to sort it for me rather than housekeeping it was sorted right away with many apologies and another restaurant voucher. Hotel does only provide one towel per person so if you need more think about bringing them from home or ordering more. They aren't terribly pricey. You aren't allowed to take room towels to the pool, if you want a pool towel from the hotel there is a $15 deposit and a $5 cost to hire one. It is cheaper to just go buy a towel really K Mart sells them for $4 each in a range of pretty colors. There's an overlook to the pool near the lift area, unfortunately this overlook provides a direct, close up line of sight to anyone who cares to look into our room. Curtains did seal out most of the heat and all of the light on the stinking hot day we had while there allowing us to have a very tranquil afternoon siesta. Didn't get any hall traffic noise and what pool noise we got was drowned out by the white noise coming from the air con. Its a low grade constant rumble so if you have trouble sleeping with noise it could be a problem for you. Luckily I've had a snoring husband for twenty years so it didn't bother me once I adjusted and my husband doesn't hear a thing with his cpap on. The room could do with some easier to reach power points especially near the beds for machines like this. We had to unplug the alarm clock so he could set it up. Having said that the kitchen is well appointed, they supply you with a limited amount of dish detergent and a cloth, scrubber, tea towel. They also give you a limited amount of laundry powder to use with the washer/dryer provided. I recommend bringing your own of both items if you plan on doing more than one load of laundry or dishes. Bring a spare bog roll too as you don't get a refill if you run out (this is not unusual for resorts just a warning for first timers) Hot water is plentiful late at night when I wanted it, can't speak for the rest of the day as showers after pool/ocean were all cold on purpose. This is a family resort, expect there to be kids in the pool all day, They clear out around 6pm presumably for dinner. That leaves the remaining three hours free for adult swim/spa time. Don't expect to be able to talk to someone in the spa. The jets are strong and loud but they will pummel every bit of tension out of you. Not the resorts fault but the whole town shuts down around 9pm even on Friday/Saturday, except the beach, the beach lights were still on and may remain on all night TBH I didn't go look. You are right across the road from the beach and right on the esplanade so if you want to shop during business hours you'll have plenty of options. Like most resorts they expect you to take your rubbish with you when you leave. There is a rubbish shoot right near the lift to make this easy. Leave your rubbish and you risk an extra charge. Check out was easy and they let us leave the car in the car park until we were ready to leave providing we made it back during reception hours so someone could let us down to the car.

The room last time we stayed was getting a little bit tired (ageing and cleaning). This time, our room has been painted quite recently, a different cleaning standard and is very adequate for us. The resort only has queen beds available in the 1 bedroom units so we chose a studio this time simply because they come with king beds (that can be split into singles) so we can sleep more comfortably... And that is why we are here... To sleep and rest. Fitted with a small (but functional and complete) kitchenette rather than a full sized kitchen in the 1 bedroom, if we felt the urge to cook, we can certainly make do. The huge lagoon style pools & multiple spas set throughout the tropical setting is really nice. I'd give the resort and the surrounds 4 stars, because that is what it deserves... but the location adds the 5th star. Directly across the road to the beach, surf break, patrolled beach, cafe (and beer) it's perfect for us. It's also under 1.5km to all the restaurants and cafés in Mooloolabah, meaning a good walk each way from dinner if that's what we choose to do. We've stayed here twice, once in a one bedroom queen apartment and on the latest occasion in a studio king. Both times our impression has been that the rooms are clean & comfortable and perfect for a budget style holiday. The one bedroom we had could have done with a bit of a fix up (was a bit tired looking) but we were very happy with the studio and though maybe it had been given a luck of paint recently. The perks of self contained mean that you get a mini laundry for the sandy towels (great if you are traveling with young kids too). A well stocked kitchenette gives you options if you feel the need to cook, with pans, a kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery plus you get a dishwasher, fridge, microwave and a stovetop. I was just happy to see wine glasses & separate champagne glasses in the cupboard. Now that's what I called stocked for a holiday. The location is perfect being just across the road from the beach and the Alex Head surf club. It is a pleasant walk over the hill to Mooloolaba for a plethora of dining options and there is no shortage of activities in this part of the coast to keep you occupied. Just down the road is a pub with a bottle shop attached so if you forget the bubbles for those champagne glasses you don't have to go too far to stock up! Whilst I think this place is perfect for families, as a couple we didn't feel out of place on a mid winter weekend getaway or a week long holiday in the summer months. I'd definitely recommend this resort to people and I'm sure we'll be back again some time soon.

Much of this was left. The drinks were good, especially the sommersby pear cider. Would we return, probably not, but if you need a feed then something to consider.

The best part about the water park is that it has a little cafe attached to it. So it was easy to jump out and get snacks for the kids without having to dress everyone. The proximity to the beach was great. There was a supermarket next door and lots of food options in the area. Our room was decent. It took a little longer to get into the room than we would have liked and no one called to tell us it was ready (they said they would). All in all a great place and we are planning to come back.

We've stayed at other Oaks resorts before and felt comfortable staying here as we've done had good experiences in the past with other branches of the chain. The resort offers a restaurant and bar - but the main draw card was the kids water pool playground area. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment. The room looked liked it had been recently refurbished. It had modern furniture and decor with a lovely kitchen area. My only dislikes about the hotel were :- 1. The room was very very Dusty.. Thank God the hubby had some Telfast on hand! I was sneezing away and had terribly itchy eyes and nose.. :( 2. The noise from outside our room from other guests in the hall ways and car park were really loud.. And also the constant slamming of doors from other rooms front doors was so annoying.. Overall, the hotel is okay if your staying for a short time and have kids to entertain.. But, the price point is quite high in my opinion..

I would go back in the future. I liked how it was close the freeway and not far from the shops at Caloundra. It's a nice place to stay and will be posting up some photo's that I took of the room. Plenty of undercover parking which is a bonus when you are staying for a few nights.

Reviewed March 25, 2012 At the time of calling I was exhausted; and they were very happy to answer all questions; espeically when I call I had an 'stay offer' which I read out but the staff were even happy to let me know and offer me a what they had currently on offer which was more for less! FANTASTIC We arrived - which is was a little out of the way so to speak; taking turns here and there - easy to find even with the signs up everyone (so if you're not a local you'll find this place easily I reckon).., it was just never ending turning.... The staff were very pleasant at check in and helped us with local information and 'what to do' where to go and the hotel facilities available. It was a very clean neat tidy foyer and the staff were neat and professionally presented. At the time of check in we were asked what was the purpose of our stay (in general conversation - not at all in a prying way) and we told them and said exactly what we were wanting to avoid. So we were after a relaxing quiet weekend. So when an issue arose and the guests in the room beside ours become very loud we went and spoke with the staff and they happily moved us (obviously this is dependent on the rooms free) but they did it without any questions and apologised too. The room was a lovely side; had balcony and nice lounge area. On the right as you enter is a bigger ensuite style bathroom. It was all clean - nice and clean - top notch bathroom condition actually. then on the left is a kitchen area with a microwave and dishwasher (I think from memory *may depend on room); and kitchen things to use i.e. kettle, cups, toaster griller. It was really more like a mini apartel room (mix between an apartment (not quiet) and a hotel room). The lounge was sufficient to seat 4-5 adults comfortably. the bed was very comfortable. the bedding was sufficent; and the place was warm - not too cold and not too hot - just warm for that time The room overlooked the next-door golf course and the forest towards the back. The pool area was over the right of our view and directly below a few floors down was the outside area of the bar. The parking was secure and needed a swipe access- there were loads of security cameras which was very comforting and needed swipe access to go to your room :) very happy. Even after the buffet breakfast in the restaurant (which was included in the rate) the staff at the desk asked how we were and how breakfast was. the gym was busy - part of the hotel has permanent or long-term residents and the other part is the 'hotel' part for guests like us and there were a heap of people. There had been rain which made the outside area tiles entry wet and slippery risk. Care would need to be taken for anyone with walking aids, limited mobility or disability**** ask the hotel for help. There are stairs - at the entry not sure if there was a ramp. check. Overall this stay in June 2011 was comfortable and pleasant. Our one bedroom apartment had a compact bedroom, beautifully renovated bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities (small washing machine & dryer) and a balcony overlooking the water. The only negative was that we felt that the bed was a little too soft for us to be comfortable. There was also a BBQ and pool area in the apartment complex and a secure underground car park. This is a good budget friendly option for a Mooloolaba stay!
