I gave 1 star purely based on its service. I can't give any review about the taste and the quality…read moreof the food because I didn't get to try any cake there and it's because the service was bad. Frankly we left with disappointment. I could imagine the cakes might be good judging from their looks (about 3-4 stars). I believe that the bakers have put a lot of passions and time in making those delicious-looking cakes. However, I also believe that they need to put their hearts into service providing at the same time. I hope that they would one day improve their service and hospitality which is as important as the taste and the quality of the food. Then I would like to visit there again and finally try their cakes. Personally, I think service and hospitality are really important in business field. Who would pay for bad services? Moreover, I believe every customer has the right to receive proper service which they pay for. To be more precise to what happened, we (my friend and I) sat on a table and waited for about 20 to 30 minutes. We were wondering if it's self-service or they would come to ask for our order. But while we were waiting, a waiter saw me which I was sure because he looked me in the eyes, but he didn't say anything. Then the same waiter came to take order of a table next to ours. I thought it's really weird because how could they not know if we hadn't ordered anything. There must be a system like order paper or even seeing two customers sitting without any food for almost half an hour. I almost walked to the counter and asked if they were going to come and take the order, but on the second thought I didn't want to pay for this kind of service anymore. So we left. Professionally, I hope my review would help the restaurant to improve what they're lacking. I look forward to seeing better future reviews that would make me go back to this place again.

We stopped in to try out their famous horchata, fartons, and churro & hot chocolate…read more When you walk in, depending on the size of your party, one of the waitresses will point you to certain tables to sit at. When we went it was busy, but we were able to get a table right away. Since they are known for their horchata and fartons, it was easy to know what to order. The horchata was refreshing, not overly sweet and not heavy on the cinnamon like it is back in the US. The farton we dipped in the horchata. It was light, airy, warm and fresh. It doesn't have a ton of flavor but it's still tasty. On our second visit, we got the churros and chocolate. We only tried a couple different ones on our trip but the churros here were my favorite. Crunchy outside, soft on the inside, and the chocolate was the perfect level of sweetness for me. Overall, a great spot for a quick dessert, and would definitely eat here again if I was back in Valencia

I was going to another recommended Horchata spot and our Hotel changed my mind and insisted…read moreCatalina was the best one to visit. As I approached, it was clear this was the spot. They were busy with multiple people taking pictures of the entrance. They have two levels but only the 1st level was being used. I was seated immediately close to the entrance. I didn't see any outdoor seating. Beautifully decorated with Valencia/Spanish tiles throughout. I ordered the specialty Horchata and Bunuelos. Horchata is served cold and is dairy free (although it seems like it has Dairy) and was a bit too sweet for me but definitely one to try. Bunuelos was tasty and had more of a donut texture. They also had Churros and a few other pastries along with Hot Chocolate and Ice Cream. Service was quick and friendly. A good mix of Locals and Tourists. Definitely a must Valencia stop!
