Nobody offered to help me. I found it kind of unsettling that there was a security guard at this shoe store. I mean, what kind of neighborhood is this? No, I'm asking...because I'm not from here. They check your purse and bags at the door. They did have Girlie Girl, Southern Mess, and other cutesy shirts and accessories. Not sure I would go back.

Since I moved away from the Eastside a couple of years ago I don't really come here much anymore…read more Overall, the Roses chain has fell off since the 1990's and this store is no exception. The Walmart up the road has taken away much of the customers, but this store still has it's fair niche of shoppers. One thing that strikes my fancy is the fact that the store is definitely dated in terms of its appearance. This store has been at this exact location since the late 1960s and it is really showing its age. Maintenance issues aside, this store is not bad as far as prices are concerned. There's still some great deals to be had, especially in their furniture and home living department. This is the store that I go to first if I need to buy a lamp, clock, chairs, etc. Some departments are more well-stocked than others. I personally wouldn't shop here for clothing unless it is work-related, but they do have a wide selection of clothes for both men and women. The toys section is usually full. Pets department is hit or miss. Same can be said for OTC pharmacy and health and beauty aids. Electronics section is downright pitiful though. The store is never crowded, so shopping is generally a breeze here. The employees are not very social in regards to helping out. But that is a minor gripe though. It's far from the best looking store but I will always be back if I need something for my living room or bedroom.

They always keep up with seasonal items and apparel and they sell out on items that are on sale fairly quickly. It could be a bit more organized in the home decor and beauty aisle (the beauty items that are on sale are an absolute mess. Sometimes there are things missing from the box and makeup items splattered everywhere), things would be easier to spot. Like every other TJ Maxx, everything is always more affordable and good quality. It's always a good place to shop for yourself and for others. The employees are always so sweet and hold up a conversation. Quality wise, I recommend this place over the other department store chains. Price wise, there will be cheaper, but I sometimes prefer quality over price depending on what I'm buying.

Kids in high school nowadays wear those tight ass skinny jeans and bright multi-colored clothing with those weird multi-colored haircuts. This place still sell exclusive urban apparel. You won't find too many high name brands here as this place clearly caters to the lower-middle African American class. The store is clean and well stocked. The workers don't bother you as much when it comes to the shopping experience. For urban related clothing, shop here. Go elsewhere if you are looking for more upscale or grown-up clothing.
