Seriously - An amazing wife and husband team Christine and Marcus, in a casual intimate setting with great humor, kindness and just an absolute pleasure to meet them our trip to Dusseldorf. As I usually do when traveling I left the menu up to the very capable Marcus and Christine, with one exception I needed a chartreuse platter ( had a craving), all other foods were left to them. Christine paired the wines and suggested some I had never had ( variety is the spice to life). An amazing 5 hour goose reduction bone broth with pappardelle pasta with the most tender non gamey goose meat with amazing flavor and richness- ( Marcus we know your secret ingredient) Then a risotto I can still taste as I write this review. Sausage, pine nuts and a truffles. The richness was just amazing and Marcus if I can suggest take that amazing broth you made for the goose and make that into a sauce for the risotto ( I had some mix on my plate and ...WOW) Still Hungry... Not really but had to try one more of dish on my last night and Marcus did not disappoint, a long grain Basmati rice with a beef/ butter/ tender crazy good curry dish. All gone and now the desserts, the wine pairing that Christine just knocked out of this world. Then meeting the older of the 2 sons helping shut down and clean up and getting a tour of this old pub that Christine and Marcus renovated 2 years ago. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!!!

You insert a kind of credit card and choose how much you like to try, a sip, half glass or full glass. Afterwards you pay accordingly. They have a nice long table where you can sip your wine, have a piece of ham and bread to go with it. It is a very relaxing atmosphere and it's easy to meet new people who share the love of wine. They concentrate on German and Spanish reds and whites. They have a small selection of new world and french. Here you can even find some rare vintages especially of German Riesling or Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir). I have been here twice and already I'm a fan of this place. The staff is very knowledgeable especially shop manager and sommelier Björn is like a wine encyclopedia. Giannis the other manager likes to open different bottles for his customers to try. You easily can come here enjoy a whole afternoon or an entire evening. I have compared their retail prices and overall they are inexpensive. Have a try!
