Took the day off from work to go eat with my sister at tacos and beer which is exactly 1hr away from my home. We decided to go buy a gift for my little sister, did not find her style in that boutique so decided to get something for me and something for my baby. My bill was $150.78 for 2 items; a pair of dress shorts and 1 baby overall. Girl at register failed to explained why the items were so expensive. I lived in Milan 14 years, I also visit NY once a year I know some clothes can be very expensive and that's ok I just wasn't expecting that from a boutique in Hammond. However, I cannot deny they had pretty cute stuff there. I'm giving this place a 4 star review for 2 reasons: 1 one of the girls made me feel like we were going to steal something, she would pretend to be folding clothes everywhere we walked but she was nice and tried to help us but I would suggest cameras instead? And 2 since they have expensive clothing there employees should be more enthusiastic when showing the merchandise. Very cutsie and the prices are right too! The style to this place is very anthropologie mixed with a little urban edge. I easily found many great pieces that I could mix and match ending up with an outfit roughly under a $100. Not too bad! The accessories are local and quirky with Louisiana pride. Buyer went into Seller's business, "Ruby's" a/k/a "Ruby Collections" a/k/a/ "Ruby Too, LLC", and bought a dress to wear to a wedding. Seller encouraged Buyer to also buy a pair of large clunky shoes and Buyer complied at Seller's instigation and repetitive insistence. Buyer went home and tried to put one shoe on, however the shoe failed to go on and Buyer fell, twisting Buyer's ankle and causing a swollen, discolored ankle and three day marked limp. The following afternoon at 1:25 p.m., Buyer returned the dangerous shoes to Seller at Ruby and was told that the small print on the invoice stated Seller would not return the purchase price of the unworn shoes. Buyer was in possession of the shoes less than 24 hours. The shoes were never worn. Sellers' "no refund policy" was not prominently displayed at the place of business, as required by the FTC. At no time did Seller advise Buyer of the business's "no refund" policy. As it turned out, the Sellers' "no refund" was printed in tiny, faint letters at the bottom of the receipt, and thus an adhesionary contract. Ruby's shop assistants advised Buyer that Ms. Cassie Ragan would call to discuss the refund policy, however Ms. Ragan never called. On July 6, 2017, at about 4:00 p.m. Buyer stopped at Ruby to speak with Sellers about the store credit. On July 6, 2017, Mary Cassie Ragan stated she did not want Buyer inside her business, leaving Buyer with a "store credit" for where Buyer is not welcome and thus the store credit has zero value. Buyer used the goods safely, following normal instructions. Sellers' misrepresentation of the shoes as safe is deceptive. Consumers should be protected from goods which are health hazards. Sellers are now in possession of the shoes and the Buyer's money. Buyer received no warning that of the dangerous defect, in violation of any implied warranty and no warning of Ms. Ragan's onerous "no refund" policy. Damages: pain, suffering and discoloration of ankles due to shoes cost of defective shoes ($125.00 + $12.50 tax = $137.50) Implied warranty of dangerous and defective shoes Inconvenience of three trips to sneaky business, Ruby's.
