I can say Milano totally upholds the tradition of West Coast premium Hot Roast. Carefully filtered, the barristas carefully draw out the acidity of the bean which I can tell were roasted well. The usual bakeries are there, fairly bland. Typical coffee fare. What struck me is unlike the city, children were sitting in a modern, well lit family environment and the owner took the time to say hi and ask about me, which is pleasantly weird and welcome coming from Van.

The bagel was either not toasted or barely toasted with a very thin schmear of cream cheese, some fresh smoked salmon, lots of arugula and some small chopped red onion and a sprinkle of feta. The whole thing ate kind of 'dry' like it needed a spritz of olive oil and some acid, maybe a squeeze of lemon. The arugula was dry as a bone. Didn't offer any of the pepperiness you'd normally expect. For 15$ it was ok but def with a few tweaks it could've been delicious. I didn't try any baked goods.
