We hired Tracy to plant in a 25 x 10 foot space. Instead of discussing what I would like to have…read morethere... size, shape, bloom, color, etc. he pretty much told me what he was going to put there. I told him I didn't want one of the things he was planning so he did switch that. I didn't want it formal. I stupidly took his word for it on the other stuff (my bad, I should have checked the internet to see what he was planting). After everything is in I come to find out he put three bushes that will grow to 4-5 feet tall and wide. EACH! In the other corner, by the house and deck he put in a bush that he assured me I would love for the blooms and scent, that I now realize will grow to 6-8 feet tall and 6-10 feet wide. In a 20-25 foot space? Really? I wanted a path from the driveway to the front deck to act as a barrier between the 'garden' and the lawn. He wanted to put in 18 inch pavers but there weren't any that size available so we went with two 12 inch ones. He made a big deal about having to cut many of these since I wouldn't let him leave it with a jagged edge from offsetting them each by 4 inches. AND... he used only sand as a base when he should have put in a special paver base and then used sand to fill in the gaps. He didn't set them deep enough to have a sturdy edge to keep them from sifting so they have already started moving and I've had to drive tent stakes into the ground on the edge of each to keep them in place. He didn't leave enough sand on the walk to fill in the spaces between them so now I have to buy sand and do it myself. I had many small plants that I wanted him to plant in the ground but after mulching all of the stuff he planted he left me little room to put my stuff in so it all got smushed to the front edge, all while he was reminding his workers that there was a bonus in it for them if they got out of here by noon. Which is why my stuff got shoved in where it shouldn't have been. He was all in a rush to get out of here. If the rain set him back a day he should have come back another day to complete the job to our satisfaction. He failed to put down the herbicide after everything was planted because he was in too big of a hurry. When my husband called Tracy to let him know he had left his stuff behind, and that we had several problems that needed to be addressed he sent two of his laborers to get his stuff so he didn't have to deal with our issues. He did manage to do an acceptable job with the tilling and mulching in the back 40x12 foot space. and they did a decent job on the river rock space, all of which were secondary to the main job. I couldn't recommend him to an enemy, it's that bad. We found him to be very unprofessional in his dealings and choices.
