I sent several messages to different companies & captain Frank responded quickly & his prices were fair. I was a little hesitant about sailing but Captain frank understood and made me feel at ease. His doggie Rosey is a sweet heart & she added to our laughs, if you're a dog person you'll find her a hoot. Additionally, He provides some refreshments which we found very nice I would totally recommend captain Frank to all my friends and will reach out to him again when my sister comes to visit.

His boat is easy to find since it has the highest mast in the marina. Around nine people were aboard along with Captain Frank and one crew member. Passengers were allowed to bring their own cooler with food and beverages. Pier 5 is at the backside of the Marina and we were able to enjoy the scenery that is Bayside from the water as we motored out the channel until we passed the Rickenbacker causeway. It seemed like the 68' mast barely cleared the bridge as we passed under. In reality he had four feet of clearance. Once we entered Biscayne Bay Captain Frank headed up into the wind to hoist the main sail after the main was hoisted the jib went up. The winds were from the East South East between 15 to 20 knots. We then headed down the bay accelerating to almost 10 knots on a starboard tack with the high side of the boat (I found it more comfortable to be on high side which provides more breeze and better view). We were heeled on starboard tack which provided a good view on the boat's high side of the bay with the normal weekend activities of jet skis, sailboats and motorboats. We saw a Hobie cat capsize in he water which provided additional viewing entertainment. Key Biscayne was picturesque as we sailed by. We came about after ten miles of sailing somewhere around Cutler Bay (see attached boat track) We were now on port tack which provided good views of Coconut Grove, Brickell and the Miami Skylines (Miami skyline is just behind the New York Skyline IMHO). During the voyage passengers were able to take the wheel and steer the boat under Captain Franks watchful eyes. This provided some excitement as each passenger got a feel for this large boat. We headed into the wind again to take down the jib and the main. We motored thru the channel into the Miami Marina to finish our cruise. I would recommend this cruise for anyone who wants to see Miami from a different perspective and experience sailing on a fast cruising sailboat. Captain Frank schedules the sailings on demand and is flexible to a day three hour or sunset cruise.

Had a wonderful experience sailing!…read more Captain Luis and Mabel were wonderful hosts. It is not a huge sail boat but it was perfect for my friends and I. We brought along some food and wine to have for the afternoon. We met at the Dinner Key Marina and promptly got escorted to the boat. It is very laid back and rustic. We all snugly fit in the covered area along with the captain and his wife. There was more room up front to hang out but we all chose to stay together to talk, etc. We started using the motor and once we were a little further out we switched to full sail. It was a perfect day for sailing and it was "smooth sailing" indeed! I was a little apprehensive about being tipped too much while sailing but the truth is that it was awesome and I felt completely safe! There was some spraying on the way back but not to worry, they had raincoats for us all to keep dry. By the time our three hour sail ended I was extremely relaxed and in a sail coma. That was absolutely wonderful. I cannot wait to do this again.

The best part of ASA101 is the "+". Tony exceeds the lessons required in the certification to make you confident to take out a sailboat on your own. He teaches not just to the "lead" person in your group but makes sure everyone learns. If you are looking for a fun experience and to learn to sail, I cannot recommend Biscayne Bay enough!

The details: My husband and I went on a day sail + sunset sail with a few friends, and it was the perfect escape during this time. My husband has pretty bad sea sickness, so I was a bit worried that he would feel sick during the sail, but nope! The yacht sails so smoothly that you feel instantly relaxed, especially as you are looking out the beautiful Miami skyline. There is a section on the front of the yacht that is cushioned where you can lay down and soak in the sun. You can also take some beautiful, Instagram-worthy photos ;) The yacht is also fully furnished, meaning it has even a freaking toaster oven, a laundry machine, and a bomb ass stereo systems to enjoy your favorite Spotify playlist. We enjoyed our time so much and we'll be returning back for sure. Do yourself a favor and just book your sail. You can thank me later.

The interior is quite spacious and elegantly crafted, yet extremely cozy. We all fit comfortably downstairs and had an amazing time while we waited out the rain. Seriously so much fun!! Every single detail of this boat is seriously amazing!!
