You can stop in for a tasting or sit down at a table for a glass or two. You can actually watch the winemakers make the wine as you sip your glass as the tanks are in the main room with the bar. It makes the whole process come together. They also have live music on some weekends and are available as a rental space. My mother is from Marceline, MO (another small town on Hwy 36). One take, after visiting my gma, we drove over to Macon to check out this winery. It was beautiful inside! The women who provided our wine tasting was very knowledgeable and could tell us about each wine as well as the history of the winery. I am a sweet wine person, so I enjoyed (and bought!) Duck Creek Red. My mom is an apple fan, so she bought a bottle of the Dry Apple wine. Can't wait to go back!

First off, it is just north of Marceline, and you'll see signs to point there. It is on the same land as Walt Disney's old family home, where he grew up while a young boy. The house, the barn and Walt's dreaming tree are all on private property. Nobody is allowed near or inside the old house (unless you actually know the owners), but anyone is welcome on the pathway behind the trees. Be sure to respect the property. The path (which has a small parking lot) leads to where Walt's original dreaming tree was, and to the barn. Signs point to everything, and there are historical markers on the path that talk about Disney and why he treasured this place. Walt's dreaming tree was struck by lightning in 2008 and in 2015, it was finally removed. A new "dreaming tree" was planted soon after. The barn, which was actually a replica built by volunteers in 2001, was considered to be Walt Disney's happy place. They encourage visitors to sign their names and maybe write a special thank you to Walt and Roy Disney for the memories. Sharpies are provided. Yes, I did make my mark inside the barn! Do not write outside the barn. Don't be that guy. Be sure to check this nice piece of Disney history. It's so hard to believe that the man whose name is on the world's biggest media company had his roots in the small town of Marceline, Missouri. One would think there would be numerous visitors there, but I was the only person.

A huge plus of this experience was that it was Free To The Public. There were signs throughout the land that were interesting and helped guide me during my visit. Walt's Barn was towards the end of my walk. It was built by volunteers in the summer of 2001 to help celebrate Walt's birthday. It had a rustic look for sure! I was surprised that it was built so recent. I walked inside and it didn't disappoint. Overall, I'm glad I stopped here! It was definitely worth the visit. He was absolutely charming and seemed to know all the interesting historical facts. If you get a chance to meet Max, make sure you tip him nicely for me:)
