We stopped here for drinks one night and liked it so we made dinner reservations for the next night. This pub is a classic English pub with a nice bar and dark beams set off with white plaster walls. The inn is centuries old.
Dinner took a while to get because they made everything from scratch. That wasn't a problem for us. I ordered the pork medallions with Stilton sauce. My wife had the Scottish salmon with a tomato-based white wine sauce. They said the fish came in from the coast that very morning. We had a rather large plate of vegetables to share. That plate had carrots, potatoes, parsnips and broccoli. Overall, this was a wonderful dinner. We wish we had a place like this near our home. read more
