The depot for Royal Mail is round the corner from the Post Office, just up the Avenue.
This is where you need to go if there are any problems with your post, or to pick up any parecels or important mail you may have missed. The service is generally pretty good, although on a few occasions I have been to collect parcles in my partners name and they have never queried it.
The postal service in Newmarket lets the Royal Mail down slightly. A few months ago, my mail would arrive between 10-10.30 am. In the last few weeks, I have received my mail at around 3pm at the latest!! I have also lost count of the times when I have had parcels delivered and the postman hasnt even bothered to knock on the door to deliver them, instead leaving a card so I have to trek down to the depot to collect it.
The postal workers are ok, can be friendly, though some of them can be a bit rude.
The Royal Mail have closed a lot of the smaller Post Offices in Newmarket down, leaving the main one on the High Street which has suffered as it is too small and gets way too busy. read more
