The last time I was here it was a rainy lunchtime and there was nearly mutiny in the very long queue as several people muttered darkly that they bloody well HAD been in when the postman alleged to have tried to deliver their parcel so why did they have to come down here and queue on their lunch break WHY.
OK, I started that. But honestly. I bloody well was in and my doorbell makes a loud rasping noise that can be heard all over the house and that I used to have to tell people calling not to use as it nearly gave my dog a heart attack. Cynical me reckons that half the time the postie just can't be bothered lugging your Amazon books with them on their rounds, a premise that becomes more reasonable when taking into account the recent huge rise in mail order shopping in recent years.
As other reviewers have pointed out, by Og is this building grim and in severe need of a lick of paint. The staff are usually helpful enough though, even if a couple of times they haven't been able to find my parcel and told me to come back the next day as it mustn't be at the depot yet. (At this point I usually just menacingly tap the 'Please leave 5 hours before collecting' or whatever on the little red card, which I always have done as a minimum.)
But now I rarely go down here anymore as, praise to the skies, I've discovered you can arrange online to have your parcel redelivered in a day or two. Sit on my bum on the sofa and wait for my parcel to be brought to me? Yes, I think so. Yay, etc. read more
