Don't be fooled by the 5-star reviews on Google. This place has so many things fishy about it that it's hard to know where to start so I'll just pick one and go from there. I ordered my favorite Indian food, palak paneer. The picture they show on the placard outside the restaurant looked like normal palak paneer so nothing seemed weird until it came to my table. The predominant color of this palak paneer was not green; it was beige or yellow. It looked like the paneer had possibly been mashed or scrambled or blended, but it tasted like eggs. My best guess from what I ate is that this was really some blend of possibly paneer with tofu and/or eggs. Whatever it was it was the worst I've had and not normal. The person I was with ordered chicken curry (which is really more like chicken kadhai but they don't have that on the menu), and that was ok. The dal soup barely had any dal (lentils) in it (though it was good, just not as described). My friend ordered the house wine which he described as "salty" and could not pinpoint any type of wine it could have been (though he usually can). Every table around us was asked at some point "I'm sorry to ask, but can you please pay cash?" This was a crock. They can accept card (we paid with card), so I didn't understand why they were asking tables to pay cash (it's a crowded atmosphere so you hear all conversations nearby). One table by us said it's probably to avoid paying taxes, which makes sense to me. I originally thought their card reader must be broken, but it clearly wasn't since they let us pay with card. For the table beside us though, they actually told them they could go to an ATM outside if they didn't have enough cash. This makes no sense to me; if they can read a card, why not allow people to pay with card? It's very fishy and I find myself landing back at the word "scam" when I am remembering this meal as a whole (hence why I'm writing this review). A couple other bizarre things happened when we first sat down, which I wrote off as being just quirky and not related to anything suspicious (why be suspicious when a restaurant has a 5-star google review with over 1k reviews, right?). But when we first sat down, a seemingly nice couple (soft spoken guy, slightly louder woman) was there, and the woman said loudly to the man that she was not going to wait to ask for their money back. Unrelated, when we sat down the waiter put pretzels and butter crackers out to eat. This is not remotely Indian and should have been a warning. Also the couple next to us sent something back because they didn't like it. I could write off one of these things happening at a highly rated restaurant, but all of them would not happen in a single night. Don't waste your time being fed sub-par Indian food, asked to pay cash for no reason, and herded like cattle next to strangers to eat. It's not even average Indian food quality. Go somewhere else. I will say, the staff seemed nice enough, but I can't get over the sliminess / audacity of them asking tables to pay cash when they have the capability to read cards. That screams bad actor. Go elsewhere.
Adding one more thing. While we ate, there was a vacuum cleaner just feet from us. That's really weird, and not a great dining experience (not horrible, but not expected of a great restaurant). read more
