I got two enthusiastic "you must check out" recommendations when I told friends there is a Royal Farms near where I work. I'd never heard of RF before. It's from Maryland and there are a few locations primarily in South Jersey. One of the "you must check out" recommenders also told me "you gotta get the fried chicken!!!" (yes, with multiple exclamation points). Apparently, it's known for made-to-order fried chicken. Fresh, real chicken, fried to perfection. (Real Fresh. Real Fast. Real Green.) I forgot my lunch one day and decided to venture out and see if it lives up to the hype. Indeed, it does! I compare it to memories of fried chicken from Roy Rogers and KFC at their height of fried chicken goodness. Legit finger-licking good. The sides are killer also. Here's what I ordered: - Chicken 4pc dark meal $8.99 - RF Dip Chesapeake $1.75 - Waffle add on - $0.49 - Side of SM mac and Cheese $2.69 Not sure if this is a COVID/post-COVID thing, but you order everything over self-service kiosk screens. The convenience market section of the store also has these self-service kiosks. So I placed my food over by the food preparation area and took my slip that had a scan code on it, then I picked up a few things from the market aisles, then paid for everything at the self-checkout. Super easy and intuitive, but there are people there if you need help. Another customer was being assisted by a RF employee when I was there and they were nice and very patient. Terrible staffs and system. Nobodies outside to pump gas and if you need anything insource the trash can staff team don't help with any tobacco products or self checkout malfunction go to wawa why go out of your way to deal with trash people that's all royal farms seems to hire trash every single worker there is either brain dead or stuck at a dead end job read more

This is a good quick fried chicken food place. The food is reasonably priced and tasty. You must have patience as the food is not always ready and they seem to be short staffed. read more

Disgusting. I have had food from other Royal Farms and it has always been fairly good. This location however is disgusting. They never have things prepared and it has always been served incorrectly. Tonight we were served a disgusting pulled chicken sandwich that was essentially a spice of chicken breast on a roll. It was so bad we didn't bother to eat it and instead picked the chicken for our cats. I'm upon doing which we found f a huge chicken bone. The employees are rude and frankly act like customers are an inconvenience. read more

When it comes to Royal Farms it's like comparing a Walmart to a target. When You go to Wawa you're going to get the Walmart experience you go to Royal Farms you are going to get the target experience. All honestly I wish royal Farms was around my area for me to go to Royal Farms is about 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. But all honesty I would rather have a royal farms in my area then to have a Wawa. So Royal Farms. Please put a Royal Farms in my area lol. Based on this gas station has probably some of the best chicken I've ever had to be honest it's probably the number 1chicken spot for me. Good customer service and reasonable prices I will go here almost every day if I could LOL. Don't knock it till you try it go to Royal Farms and get some chicken. I would recommend a chicken tender meal. And also they got a wide variety of coffee, tea, drinks, chips, etc... I would highly recommend going here I hope this was helpful. read more

This place is terrible. Went in for chicken tenders, was told they would be 15-20 minutes until they are done. Chicken in the bins looked old and I was told they were about to throw out the spicy chicken. Guy behind the counter offered to make a sandwich by pulling to old chicken he was going to throw out and put it on a bun. I passed on that option. I went to get a soda and something else and stood at the counter for 5 minutes until a girl said could she help me. Then was told the only guy who knows how to run the register was the guy pulling the chicken apart. The place is empty, I'm going to the Wawa next door, which is packed. read more
