Went here to get my headlights done, and I hate to say it was pretty lackluster. Great customer service, the owner/detailer is a very nice young man. Very courteous and respectful, but my headlights just weren't up to par.
LOCATION:
Off North Shallowford Rd. He does the detailing and/or headlights in the back of the brick building. The building is Progressive Lighting I think and another one or two companies are in the same building as well. 4646 is largely written on the building so you shouldn't miss it. You pull around back, and there is neat of enough setup of hose and car wash materials. There are two chairs outside for you to sit in.
SERVICES:
He offers car detailing and headlight restoration. I got a $30 deal for the headlight restoration and was really excited about it because my headlights had gotten pretty darn yellow. The deal said its a $150 value, but I mean c'mon that's not true at all. Basically, you're paying someone to just do the headlight kit for you. These kits are about $18 or so online or in store, sometimes you can find them for less, sometimes more. So technically you're paying for the kit + 15/20 minutes of labor + tip. I think it's worth it for someone not wanting to do it themselves, doesn't own a sander, and/or lives very close. When I factor in my gas cost and me sorta rushing there to meet him, then I don't feel too good about it. I still tipped him because I always tip people who do a service, but it was definitely a total let down. I guess I shouldn't have tipped... I have to remember to not tip when I don't think they did a good job, but it's just a habit to tip.
Anyway, if you go, go with low expectations (sorry) so that when they turn out fab you'll be so delighted and if they turn out totally lackluster and not that good like mines then you'll feel fine. I set my expectations way too high based of the photos on his website and got let down.
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
The owner seems to be a true to heart nice guy. Which is why the review has 3 stars instead of 1. He also offers a lifetime guarantee on the headlights, so if you still own the same car in a year you can technically come back. That's definitely an added perk to keep in mind, and that does make me feel just a little bit better.
SUMMARY:
I don't know about the detailing, I'm sure that's pretty good. But the headlight restoration is just more of a basic headlight cleaning. If you own a drill or sander or just have a heavy hand, I would certainly suggest just buying the kit yourself and doing it at home (3m, sylvania, turtle wax, and meguiars all have one that are rated pretty highly). I'm all down for supporting a business so if you don't have the time then certainly get it done here, the guys is really nice. I sorta want to give 1 or 2 stars, but will give 3 to be nice. read more
