Unlike the other amusement arcades in town (the ones on dry land) there's no 'Jackpot' area where you can win £500 as long as you're prepared to feed pound coins into the machines. There are plenty of gaming machines but the last time I was there none of them cost more than 10p a spin. There are also video games and crane grab machines and I'm sure they've still got a pinball machine. Not really a place I'd recommend to anyone but if you have to visit an arcade your money will last much longer in this one.

When I was younger Premier Amusements was an amusement arcade. There were machines designed to…read moreentertain. The one I remember best was a basketball game which stored your details so each time you played it you carried on from when you were last there. These days it's purely devoted to gambling. There's a bingo area by the entrance but other than that the place is entirely devoted to gaming machines. It's usually full of very sad looking people who seem to hang around waiting to offered a free cup of tea or coffee. Avoid at all costs.

North Western Gardens is a small area of greenery, with a few well tended flower beds, better known…read moreto locals as Bog Island. The Island part is a reference to the old road layout when the Gardens were located between two sections of busy road and the Bog part is a reference to the underground toilet block which lies below the grass. The 'new' road layout means it's no longer an island but the bogs are still there. It's also home to a bizarre totem pole which I suspect is meant to welcome motorists coming into the town centre via the one way system. It's not quite an island of tranquility, located as it is between a busy road on one side and a grotty amusement arcade churning out electronic bleeps on the other side but all town centres should have a little bit of green in amongst all the over-development.

This cinema is large and has several screens, showing the latest new releases. It's the nearest…read morecinema to Caernarfon, which is about 30 miles away, so it's a rare treat to visit. The cinema itself is very modern, with 8 screens using the latest film technology, and the seats are comfortable and spacious. There is wheelchair access and seats in the front row that are suitable for the disabled. Inside the cinema there's an ice-cream stall, a popcorn counter in the middle of the foyer, a hot dog counter and a Pick 'n' Mix style sweet shop. Of course, these prices are all extortionate and whilst it costs £6.60 for an adult ticket to see the film, it costs almost as much for a tub of popcorn. Outside the cinema, which is located in a leisure park on the outskirts of Llandudno Junction, there's a McDonalds, a KFC, a Pizza Hut, a Frankie & Benny's and several other eateries. The price to see the film is actually quite reasonable, I believe, but the extras let the whole experience down.

The popcorn is expensive, the fizzy water that tastes vaguely of cola or orange is even worse, the hot dogs are luke warm and the nachos are doritos with a lumpy, solid, unlovable cheese sauce. But the place shows movies, and movies are good. Facilities were clean, the pool table worked (I won both games I played) and I can't say anything bad!
