This last visit, it just happened to be my Birthday & soon as we walked in, Hubby zeroed in on a sparkly blue & green (my favorite colors) tiny French clutch in the shape of a FISH! Now my hubby knows I LOVE everything Aquatic !!! He went straight to the little fish in the glass case, the sales lady from the shop was in hot pursuit, didn't waste any time getting it out for him! :)) The saleslady was very sweet & told us she just got them in. There were some very pretty ones. A silver bunny, a red/black lady bug etc., my zodiac sign is Pisces so it was undeniably a perfect match for moi :)) Elegant, French cocktail clutch, hand made. Exquisite!!! Like everything in this store!!! Beautiful chandeliers, 18th century wardrobes, beautiful French China etc., A antique lovers dream shop. Hubby knows what I like! Score indeed! Him of course & the little fishy :)) I didn't catch the sales lady's name but I want to say thank you for all the information on the wardrobe I am interested in... BTW, You can purchase anything in this store & have it shipped Crate worldwide. "Thank you again for your wonderful "assist" in my lovely Birthday Gift. I absolutely adore it. Advertised as manufactured in 1876 in England out of sterling silver. The owner had 2 and wanted $400 for either one. My wife chose one and paid cash for it. 24 hrs later we find it is made of plated nickel and worth maybe $50, also that it is current manufacturer. Although I partly blame my wife for a lack of expertise in recognizing a fake, the lions share of my aggravation falls on the store owner. After a brief phone call, she offered store credit if my wife returned it. Unfortunately, we are leaving the city at 7am and have no chance to return it face to face. I'm hesitant to mail it in the hopes of recouping the credit on a future trip to the city.

I've been to Dops, Corner House Collections, Merchant House, Consign Consign, and Secondline - but Heirloom is by far superior to those, price and selection wise. Also, the lady who helped me with my purchases was very kind and attentive. I bought an oil painting that had been for sale since January and she offered me a deal for 50% off the original price. She even asked to see a picture of it once it was hung on my wall. I will definitely be frequenting this shop.

My mom was in town visiting me this weekend and would not stop going on about this necklace she saw in a window on Royal St. She just had to track it down during business hours. When we finally found the store, the necklace was a bit out of her price range. Looking around and seeing all of the handmade-looking jewelry, I thought this could be a place that could cut us a deal. I barely had the words out of my mouth when the lady said very loud and rudely, "DON'T insult me! Are you JOKING? This is RETAIL not WHOLESALE! Please LEAVE!" and SNATCHED the necklace out of my had. Are you kidding me?! What kind of customer service is that?? If your prices are set in stone, that is all you have to say. Honestly, my mother probably would have paid full-price for that necklace. But after being treated like the scum of the earth, we wouldn't have bought a thing from that lady, even if she hadn't kicked us out. I try not to let miserable people bother me, but this lady really ruined our afternoon. I guess working in a store on Royal Street, you can get away with anything and the tourists will keep coming back. I won't be though, and I will probably tell every person I know.

Two jewelers back home confirm it is a new ring, not an antique. About two months after the purchase, the ring fell apart into two pieces. I sent photos and was told that the store would pay for the repair. When I sent the receipt for the repair ($290) I got no response. I called and the owner said "There is no way that ring just fell apart" and "you must have thrown that ring against a wall," basically calling me a liar. It did, in fact, simply fall into two pieces, no damage to it. We paid $4000 for the lovely ring. She is refusing to pay for the repair. We still love the ring but am saddened by our treatment and the proprietor's rudeness to us.

Maggie immediately noted our presence & was not welcoming at all, however, she did show us the rings very quickly. I believe the only reason she was so receptive to us was because she believed that we had money. She insisted on showing us many pieces that were purposely out of our budget, (we told her our budget) and when we tried to pick rings that were more in our budget, she scoffed and acted as if they were not as good and insulted my choices for many various reasons, I couldn't even remember. It was like she didn't want to show me anything unless it was $5,000+. We're 25 years old, lady. Who do you think we are, rockefellers? I really thought she would warm up + act more human if I complimented her jewelry. I mean, it was beautiful! I noted that of course she would have such beautiful jewelry, considering her job has great opportunities to collect such pieces. She rolled her eyes and said "well duh" She even rudely commented on my fingers, chiding me for the shape of them at the knuckle. She tried to argue with me about my ring size, even though I already knew it & told her so. every time I was putting the sizer on she claimed "I didn't see it, do it again"... multiple times. it was a very weird experience and I'm not quite sure how she still works here. definitely never returning and will not be recommending, if anything will be recommending people to avoid this place! only giving it two stars because the layout inside is absolutely lovely.
