It's a movie theater - not really much can go wrong.
They have a total of 3 theaters which they call Sala 1, Sala 2 & Sala 3 (located on the second floor - just take the steps.
You can order tickets online if you are fluent in Portuguese, they Google Translate didn't work very well for me.
When you get there - you fall in line at the ticketing office, an employee helps you pick out your seats. You just tell them what movie and for what time & they pull up the available seating chart on the computer screen in front of you.
You point and pay - their tickets resemble receipts - so don't get it twisted and throw it away.
At the concessions - they have the usual - popcorn, drinks, candy. Nothing to report here.
They don't let you in the movie theater until like 7-10 minutes before the movie actually starts. I'm sure there is a method to their madness.
If you look online prior to heading to the movies - you can see which ones are subtitled in Portuguese. The two movies I saw were in English and subtitled in Portuguese but the writing is in Portuguese (damnit) lol.
FYI - the bathrooms are located on the first floor - on either side of the theater 1 & 2.
The dividers between the seats do not lift up.
Also, I believe Theater 3 (Sala 3) is the bigger theater.
The front row isn't as close as the front row is in the states - so if you get there late & can only score those seats - fret not!
The seats on the farther ends aren't too bad just a little off angle.
Once the movie is done - you exit a TOTALLY different way than when you entered so using the bathroom after the movies is probably a no-go, although I never asked or anything.
All in all - if you you don't speak that well of Portuguese - go ahead & make a trip to the movies - it isn't that hard :) read more
