I am absolutely disgusted that this venue and surrounding yurts etc is able to be open. The whole…read moreplace is filthy and eroding in mold and rot. Customer service are impossible to get ahold of. We booked to stay at one of the Yurts with our 1 year old and our dog, it took us 3 and a half hours to get there and upon arrival we saw instantly how run down this place was. The yurt was green with mold and the furniture on the deck was so rotten it was falling apart. When we went to enter the Yurt, there were a few locks on the door, all of which were broken, and a huge hole above the door letting in a large cold breeze. We have stayed in poor conditions before but this was by far the worst and such a shame as if the owners took care of this place, the yurts would be beautiful. Everything inside was damp. The bed was actually soaked. They had left us enough firewood for a couple of hours only and charged if you wanted more. The day bed was rotten and broke as soon as my dog jumped onto it - which thank goodness, that wasn't my baby! The shared facilities, if you can call them that, were filthy, also damp and had no privacy as all the curtains were broken. There was no private lake as advertised it's shared, and no boat as advertised so you can't go on the lake (which is just a swamp anyway). There are no walking trails as advertised, its all overgrown with shrubs now. We left after 2 hours of arrival because we didn't feel safe letting our baby stay in these horrendous conditions. I have never complained about anywhere I've stayed before so this has to be BAD. I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy and to people thinking of staying and having weddings here, you'd have it better at an ibis budget.

The are a mix of self catering apartments based in and around Walcot Hall, which remains the seat of the Parish family. Each apartment has a varying standard of en suite or shared facilities, which makes this place great for a get away for couples, or for larger groups. Just think 'Good Life' rather than The Hilton.
