Got an estimate of $700 which I thought seemed a little high for my small area but I saw the…read morecompany recommended on my HOA neighborhood page and I always like to use small local businesses when I can. None of this brings me any joy but I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake I did. After saying "we" our whole conversation he ends up showing up alone, at 4pm to do what I knew should be a 3 hr+ job for 2-3 people. Of course it gets dark and he is not finished but instead of coming back the next day knowing he could not see in the dark to make it look nice, he "finished up". Blew rubber mulch with his blower ALL over the place. In the road, on the driveway, all in the grass. He did not have a rake so of course we didn't mind letting his use one but he also came without clippers....he came back the next afternoon because he had removed 2 shrubs and needed to haul them off. Pulled up in a sedan, shoved them in the trunk and left a large amount of brush all over the sidewalk and road. I did message him when he asked how it looked and I told the truth. Instead of offering a partial refund which is what I would have done because this should have been $400 max at this level of experience he told me he didn't want to bother us or the neighbors by continuing cleanup after dark....said he still wanted to come and tidy things up. I told him since the HOA is strict that we couldn't just leave all this mess here and after 4 days of him not offering we ended up cleaning up what we could ourselves. Found out after the fact that he does not even live in my neighborhood yet was on posts recommending himself. He also is on this business page giving himself a 5 star review. I am a very reasonable person, if any attempt to make this right were made it would have been appreciated. Partially this was my fault for not checking into him better beforehand, lesson learned.
