This all started on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Unfortunately my semi truck broke down it was my wife,…read moremyself and our dog. They agreed to tow us to Florence South Carolina, but once they got there to tow us they assured us that their mechanic could do the job. The turbo on the truck had blown and needed replacing. They found a turbo, but too late to work on it so we got a hotel. They told us the truck would be ready tomorrow. Thursday-20th-replaced the turbo, but tried to use the old actuator, again too late finding parts, back to the hotel. They again told us the truck would be ready the next day. Friday-21st- They got the turbo and actuator but they didn't have the computer to calibrate the turbo. They sent the truck to an shop where it sat all day because other jobs were in front of us. They refused to give us the shops name or the owners name. We wanted to try and see if the mechanic would work on our truck as promised because we were loaded and the receiver was getting anxious about his freight. So back to the hotel this time for 3 day because the guy doesn't work on Saturday. So again the truck will be ready first thing on Monday morning. Monday-24th- We called to see if the truck would be ready and the owners of C&C towing said they would pick us up in the truck so that I could make sure the truck was running right. We waited all afternoon and kept calling every other hour. Finally 4pm they pick us up in a car. "Where's the truck" we ask the driver. " I don't know, the owners just asked me to pick you up and bring you to the shop to settle the bill. We're hit with a $10 thousand + bill and when we asked about the truck, they finally admitted they couldn't fix it, BUT we owed them $10k. By now they're willing to tow us to the Peterbilt shop in Florence South Carolina, but not until we pay the bill!!! They owner started cussing and telling us all the time and money he's spent " fixing" the truck and he wants his "F" money. He threatened to unhook the truck and demanded we pay him another $900 to tow it or pay him his "f" money. He refused to remove the core charges for the turbo or the actuator that they turned in to get the new parts. So 9 pm at night under duress I paid him. I felt that I would not get my broken down truck or my loaded trailer off his property until I paid him. He left is outside the Peterbilt gates at midnight. I had to pay another tow truck to tow me inside the gate. Once the mechanic at the Peterbilt garage looked at my truck, they showed me all the things that were wrong with the truck. Lesson learned: but very costly, stay away from C&C towing if you have anything under your semi tractor that needs repair. Take your semi tractor to the dealer. This garage is not equipped to handle the job.

Willie is the caller and I was pleasantly surprised by the way he talked to me and explained the procedure and how I will be kept informed of findings and cost, if any,before any needed repairs. I have always been apprehensive about having any kind of car repairs from people I don't know because of hearing that often women get taken advantage of, especially older women by repair people. Willie was very respectful and talk to me in layman terms so that I could understand. I informed him that my son may be contacting him about the car and Willie offered to contact him or be called if he had any question. I really appreciated his demeanor and reassurance that they will be able to find out what the problem with the car is and what is the repair needed to get it back on the road. I called my son and gave him the phone number as well as Willie's name as the contact person. I am very confident that my car is in good hands. Thank you Lumberton Kia and Willie in the service department for easing my mind that my car will be taken care of.

Just before Christmas I had a censor replaced and on the way home I was having trouble handling the gears.. I called Haneys and someone came right over to my home, Someone drove the car to the shop where everything checked out fine. They even rode it on 74 to make sure it was ok. I received a phone call letting me know everything was fine and the car was in my parking lot.. They didnt even charge me for the call. Its a wonderful feeling knowing they are honest and they really do care .

The gentleman at Latta automotive was called to tow my car and store it until I could find someone to get it back home. He was very easy to communicate and kept us updated. Not once did he try to convince me of expensive or unnecessary repairs. My car is toast, there was nothing we could currently do with it. He talked to us about what led up to the car stopping and everything in between, gave some advice. As a woman, I am all too familiar with shady mechanics trying to talk me into repairs that aren't needed (my dad is a mechanic and I will be calling for him to double check or advice). The owner never did that. My dad was going to drive 3 hours to come pick them car up but it would need to he stored until he could get there (next day). The owner would not let us pay him for the night of storage. He came in when the shop was closed and even helped load it. Would not let us pay him for his help either. If I am ever in Latta and need help, I know who I will be calling. Hands down the best service I have recived in regards to towing and automotive care. A small owned business who 100% deserves business.
