I had a couple of trees (20ft Bradford Pear and a 25ft Yellow Maple) located at the side of the house that needed to be removed. Derek from Rowan came and gave an estimate - a very fair price. Derek is very knowledgeable and professional about the tree business. The trees were not in an easily accessible place. The Maple tree was in the power, phone and cable lines. The Pear tree was away from the lines. The team was able to remove the Maple tree without calling BrightRidge to bring down the line. That was due to the knowledge, professionalism and expertise of the team. They took their time with patience and care to ensure the line were kept intact. They ground up the trees. After the removal, the team cleaned up the yard site of limbs and debris. They went well beyond what was required to ensure a great experience on getting these trees removed. I had the pleasure of being able to meet the owner Ed Sheffey when he came out for the appraisal. What really made me look this company up was that he is a certified Arborist. Appointment was for 10am, he showed up at 9:50am, so very punctual. When he came out to look at the tree of concern, he let me know that his knowledge and certification is a part of what sets his company apart, not only that but that he's been doing this for many years and is a US Veteran. When he was telling me what would work best, and did not try to sell me services of his business, but honestly wanted to make sure I had the knowledge of how to take care of my trees. He saw the trees in my back yard and we went to look at them. I thought surely he's going to look for ways he and his business can make money, but he didn't even mention his business!! In November 2023 we hired Rowan Tree Care to remove 6 white pines. Two of the trees were extremely tall and leaning dangerously close to our detached garage and our home. Access through our neighbors yard was required to perform the job. Ed's team was prompt and courteous, they arrived when they said they would and completed the work within the specified timeframe. We were pleased with the care they took on our property and also our neighbor's. They were very safety conscious and knew what they were doing, this was important because they used a climber to tackle the worst trees that the bucket truck could not reach. Being a veteran myself, I try to find and utilize veteran owned businesses. So when the 13 Bradford Pear trees lining my driveway needed pruning and shaping, I found Rowan Tree Care online as a Vet owned business and gave them a call. Ed answered and took my information and scheduled an estimate for the next morning. Upon arriving, Ed was professional and friendly. He took time to listen to what I wanted done and then explained how his crew would perform the pruning, etc... After agreeing to the estimate, he then scheduled the service for the following week. We, and our trees, were well cared for. Toward the end of their first day on our job, Ed received an 'emergency' call . . . a limb was down and holiday activities were eminent. I asked Rowen Tree Care to come and evaluate my orchard for pruning, but Ed Sheffey went above and beyond by giving me information about other trees on my property, possible diseases, and which might be candidates for removal. He did prune the pears perfectly and now they have much more circulating air, as well as a shape that makes harvest much easier.
