Interesting Sunday afternoon... I looked on website ahead of my trip to get my ears pierced. The appointments were wide open. I didn't book an appointment. I decided to just walk in. It was sooooooo LOUD!!! in that space, people in groups were very chaotic. I was instructed how to book a walk in appointment as there were plenty of customers ahead of me. I didn't wait too long but when it was my time the greeter was rushing me ... in no time I was at the chair with my long hair in a ponytail getting my lobes marked for a device piercing. My nurse piercer was friendly and again this was like speedy piercing shop. I am giving it 3 stars for these reasons, rushed process, loud chaotic atmosphere, and overpriced piercing jewelry fees. read more

They used the gun to re-pierce my 3rd lobe piecing which is fine but they claimed posts are hypoallergenic and mine were definitely not. I get pain in my earlobes from contact dermatitis when wearing earrings with nickel, and this earring post was almost at an infection point 2 days later. I changed out the post and it feels better now. Considering we paid $300 for 1 piercing for me and a piercing for my daughter- don't use them if you have an allergy to nickel. read more

I never write reviews but I felt obligated to from my experience. I came to this location because I thought it looked super cute and the jewelry selection was very dainty and just what I was looking for! I was greeted fast and they were nice but it went downhill from there. I originally wanted my forward helix done but they said they didn't have anyone to do that onsite for that day so I said no problem and decided on a stacked lobe piercing (very simple and easy) instead and chose my jewelry. When the nurse came out she told me it couldn't be done with the jewelry I picked but I personally didn't agree but she insisted I choose another earring even though the prices are very high and I found the only one that I wanted. I have a total of 14 piercings and have never been told no to a service I was paying for and a simple piercing. I still wanted it but the nurse kept telling me no with the jewelry I chose. I ended up leaving with no piercing but instead I bought the jewelry I wanted and took it somewhere else where they gave me exactly what I wanted with no issues. It was perfect and they could have done it just fine. Was Confused by their reasoning and their denial of what I wanted. Made me think they weren't totally knowledgeable or she just wasn't comfortable doing it for some reason. I would recommend going somewhere else since that's never happened to me before and I got exactly what I wanted somewhere else with the same jewelry I was told "wouldn't work" at Rowan. read more

Great experience for my four year old! She was so excited to get her ears pierced and Nurse Tamika made it a special and sweet day! I would highly recommend to anyone thinking about going here. We did make an appt beforehand and went on a weekday so it was not crowded and a super quick experience. The only possible downside is that it is pricier than what I recall from my own past piercings but you get what you pay for and I'm happy to have my daughter's first experience be a very very good one with Nurse Tamika at Rowan. On Mother's Day, my 6 year old and I went to get her ears pierced! We made a reservation online and we had a great experience with Courtney. For lobe piercings, she used a gun - my daughter didn't cry. They have been easy to clean, no bleeding at all, no redness - I was shocked! Courtney also did my helix with a needle, and they do that in a private room (they have 2). I did have the choice between gun or needle. There are two regular chairs for gun piercings. The experience was great. Since I only got one helix done - they just gave me 1 solution that my daughter and I could share, which I appreciated they didn't lock me with another solution - because that would have been unnecessary. It is expensive, but I've had my piercings done by a tattoo-piercing place and it was a similar price, so who knows? We asked if they would pierce both ears together for my 4 year old daughter. Their response was we rarely do that! And the other person is busy! How long does it take? 30 seconds. Terrible service and people with no empathy. My daughter had a hard time. We are sorry we got her here. I've seen this company all over TikTok and Instagram and was delighted to learn there was a location in Georgia, just outside of Atlanta! When shopping at the Avalon, I walked by and decided I wanted to experience this and get an ear piercing. I love how the business is set around real registered nurses doing the piercings, and everything was at a higher hygienic practice. I had a fantastic piercer, who took the time to map out my piercing and adjust the location as to my liking. I received educational aftercare to make sure my piercing can heal properly, and there's even a number where you can text later on if you have any issues. I loved this experience, loved the high quality jewelry they offered piercings with (because my ears are super sensitive) and I will be coming back to purchase additional jewelry once my piercing heals! read more

I'm usually not a review person but here we are... one of my lobe piercings from childhood had closed up to the point of needing to be pierced again. The nurse came out to assess my ear. She told me she would do a needle piercing and directed me to sign in and pick jewelry. I didn't question this as I trusted her opinion and it seemed reasonable. I was immediately surprised by the price of the options. The least expensive was $68 and the size was WAY too small for an adult- plus the $35 service fee. I settled on one of the $98 options since I would need to wear them for 6 weeks. The piercing process itself was fine; the nurse was clean and friendly. Before checking out I asked about the matching earring in the set which is when I was informed that the $98 was for only ONE earring and would have to pay the same price for a matching. Mind you, when I was looking at options I had actually inquired about the device piercing selection because I liked the styles better and was told those weren't available. After looking online it looks like those are sold as a pair and a device would have absolutely been appropriate for a lobe piercing. So I will be going home and removing my $98 earring to replace it with something I have so I don't have to walk around with a single earring for the next month and a half. So my advice is to research their pricing structure before going in so you know what to ask for instead of relying on the guidance of staff. read more

This place is SO expensive. The "nurse" missed the piercing in one of my daughter's ears & had to punch it 2x. 9 months later her ear is still bugging her. For the price I paid & finding out you're punching ears just like Claire's, I'm so angry & disappointed. I paid $150 for crap. I'm hoping my daughter's ear isn't ruined for life. Go somewhere else. I'm unsure if this is a race issue at this store or what it is but they don't acknowledge any one of color. I came in here to buy earrings and they didn't even say hi to us. We had a great experience during our visit. Very clean and the staff was very polite. However, the cartilage piercings were not supposed to be done with a gun, come to find out, and they did not heal. We had to take them out and the doctor said the cartilage had been shattered because of the gun. It's supposed to be done with a needle. Very disappointed. read more

I came here about 2 years ago for helix piercing. I was t greeted from the front store staff member. I walked around the store looking lost until I came up in front of her looking at the pieces she had next to her. Then she finally talked to me and told me about the store. I decided on doing a stacked helix piercing. The nurse that did it did a good job with the first needle, but had issues with the second one. She was pulling and tugging just a bit to hard. Had to get someone to help her out. To this day that second piercing never healed right. I have bought additional pairs of earrings over time from them. Just learned that my original piercing posts were the downsized/smaller post. She never used the longer piercing posts. I wouldn't recommend coming to this particular location or the company in general. I thought my piercings were done right until I got a another helix piercing with a different company. read more

Walked in last weekend and there were 3 staff hanging around. They looked at us when we came in and never greeted us. Another family walked in after us and they walked to them and asked how they could help. I browsed their studs for my daughter and waited on one of them to come over but she stood at the register the entire time. Went to the Avalon store 12/13/23 to get my daughter's ears pierced. The gun got stuck in my daughter's ear. I totally understand that mistakes happen, however, the way this situation was handled after the gun got stuck was shocking. The way this situation was handled was awful. I will never be back. I wish I could rate it zero. my 2 year old was traumatized by the experience. very inexperienced nurses. pierced wrongly(diagonally) then asked if they can re pierc or diagonal was fine too . I brought my daughter (age 10) to Rowan to get her ears pierced for the first time. We were both excited and the place is really cute and the staff was friendly. The process itself was fine but super expensive. also, the studs used were thin and difficult to eventually take out. so much that my daughter screamed and cried. there was no sign of infection but then trying to put in new earrings was very difficult and painful, so much that my daughter won't let me put in any earrings.
