Hespeler Animal Hospital - Dr. B and our cutie

I took my dog to see Dr. Louise Langlais for a routine checkup and vaccination. At the time he was about a year and a half old, and had not yet been neutered. He also had some crowding of his teeth and required some dental extractions. Dr. Langlais was absolutely certain to write a DETAILED quote which explicitly laid out what I could expect to pay to have my dog neutered, and about 10 of his tiny little baby teeth removed (for they record, he was a cryptorchid, meaning that he had an undescended testicle, which is a slightly more complicated procedure). She also took plenty of time to "educate" me about what would happen to my dog if he didn't get neutered (higher risk of cancer, among other things) or didn't have the extractions done (he'd end up with gum disease, tooth decay, loose teeth, bleeding gums... blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!) Scare tactics basically. The quote... over $4800!!! He's a chihuahua!!!!!!!!!! He's tiny! I was in complete SHOCK! Shock! Really?! Oh, but wait! If you can't afford a $5K bill, Dr. Langlais still has a solution for you! She practically chased me into the parking lot with a financing application. That way I could go into debt to pay for her over priced services in her over priced clinic. I left sad, scared, depressed, and feeling like a horrible human being thinking that I would never be able to afford to get my dog neutered or have his extra baby teeth taken out. If I could give this place a ZERO, I would. My first visit to this clinic was also my last, but it certainly wasn't the last time I heard from them. Nooooooooooooo.... I've been getting courtesy reminders for the last 2 years letting me know that my pet is due for his vaccines and really should come in for a check up. Ya, right! I have a NICE, new vet! And just for the record, I did find another vet where I did take my doggie for his neuter and dental work. It came to just under $1200 for a cryptorchid neuter, 10 extractions and a full dental checkup and cleaning. Phew! I'm not a bad person after all.

Went to seeanother vet, he quoted $350 and when the sugery was done it was acutally less than the quote. Also took 2 dogs in to get rabies shots, didn't want anything else, but I had to pay for the shots anyway. As far as I am concerned that should be illegal. Found a wonderful vet,who happens to be her ex husband. So glad I made the switch.

I came to this conclusion after many years of dealing with them with my two dogs. I considered many times going elsewhere and wish I had done so. They see your pet as a dollar sign, nothing more. They will recommend numerous tests that an upset pet owner may agree to, yet I have found when I questioned things and asked what if we do this one test first and then go from there, they would agree, and I found doing this one thing as a first step was all that was required to solve my pets issue. The other costs and tests often were not necessary. They are looking to upsell you on things you may not need. They also failed to respond to my calls or emails on a number of occasions. I will never take another dog to this "business". A previous dog I owned was always treated at another veterinary clinic (they've since closed, vet retired). I never experienced any of the problems with my previous vet that I did at the Animal Hospital of Cambridge. Strongly recommend you go elsewhere! Barry K.

I got a same day appointment on a saturday no less, and was nervous about bringing my anxious cat to a new vet since she's been used to the same one for years. Boy am I glad I did! This place was fantastic. Huge waiting area separated into cats and dog areas, snack bar and refreshments available. Large spacey inner waiting rooms with tvs. On our rooms tv, there was birds eating seeds which help keep my cat distracted from where she was. They also have their own lab on site so no need to wait days for results! From the front desk helpers, to the vet techs, to the actual doctor. Everyone was pleasant and welcoming and DID NOT PRESSURE!! I can't stress that enough. I did not feel pressured to empty my wallet at all. I was given multiple options and price ranges so I would feel comfortable with what was needed. Was this place uber cheap? No, of course not. Vet's never are, but the fact that I was treated so well here made me a very happy customer. Fast forward a week and a bit and my baby is feeling much better, and is back to her normal self. I will definitely return if needed in the future. 5/5

I can't express how happy I am that we found KW Animal Chiropractic. We have two Holland Lop…read morebunnies with spondylosis. Vets only prescribe meds, but we all know this just masks the symptoms instead of correcting any problems. The female lop also has a leg that got hurt when she was younger. For months, they have both been taking pain meds twice a day. I read about chiropractic for rabbits on a forum and started looking for a chiropractor for the buns. For some reason, this clinic didn't come up, but I found an animal chiropractor in Toronto. He found Dr. Lauren Pruner for me and I just took my two little lops to her last week. Both got gentle adjustments, and I could see more mobility in both of the rabbits immediately. Butters, our male, can now clean himself better. He was having some hind leg weakness, but he can definitely get around better now. Beckett's leg moves so much better after just one appointment, and I can tell she can move much better. In the meantime, our bigger girl, Pepper, did something to her left foot. She was limping and holding it off the ground. She is almost nine and had trouble with head tilt, which caused its own mobility issues. She has gotten better, but I knew an adjustment could only help. I took her today, and like the other two, she showed immediate improvement. She can move around much better and her leg is held in a more natural position. The doctor even showed me a stretch we can do daily at home. All three rabbits go back in March, and I can't wait to see them continue to improve! Dr. Pruner is wonderful with animals. She is so nice and I could tell she loves furbabies. She is very patient and gives them an opportunity to rest between adjustments. The rabbits were very comfortable with her and Butters, especially, became putty in her hands. She even gave me a discount for multiple rabbits. Her personality is sweet and pleasant. If you want to see improvement in your furbabies if they are having issues and want to do more than cover up the problem with drugs, please, go see Dr. Pruner. The improvement in your babies will warm your heart. Highly recommend!
