The receptionist refused to schedule the appointment without direct authorization from the landlord, which I understand, but when I offered to provide my landlord's number so they could call and confirm, she told me "that's not my job" and spoke in a very dismissive tone. When I asked about a shut-off valve mentioned on the invoice, she repeated herself rudely and when I questioned her tone, she sarcastically replied, became defensive and retorted with"can I talk now?" At that point, I ended the call and contacted my landlord to make other arrangements. I then called Pendleton Plumbing, who were courteous, helpful, and even contacted my landlord directly for authorization. It was night and day in terms of service. A little professionalism and basic phone etiquette go a long way--unfortunately, that was completely missing in this experience.

She will not take ownership of any mistakes, and places blame on others. She does not understand that the customer is right, even when they are wrong. Also very disappointing with the owner not returning our calls to hear "our side" of the story. There are always three sides to a story, yours, ours and the truth....... Told him ahead of time it was a tub backing up and the toilet bubbling and thought he needed to sewer rooter out the toilet however he thought it was the sink drain in the bathroom with the problem and he just used his small snake to unclog it. He broke the p trap flange nut and left me with a leak under the sink so had a bucket to catch the leak. Later got a call that evening that the bathroom was flooding again so called another plumbing company the next day and they pulled the toilet and used their sewer rooter and solved the problem. I will never use their services again! They still insist on billing me even though I told them the problem was not fixed they only added more problems with breaking the flange nut! Plus would not take the call in the evening advising them it was flooding again. Would not recommend them to anyone for plumber work.

The front door is lower than the sidewalk and instead of stairs leading to the door, there's a concrete "ramp". When I came home, I found the landing in front of the door flooded. How they were capable of doing this, I'm not sure. However, that was what greeted me when I arrived. Issue #2: Dry wall was damaged next to the front door. I am assuming that it was while the old water heater was being removed. Issue #3: They left a mess next to the new hot water heater. They did not clean up after themselves. They put everything in a pile... and just left it there. Issue #4: At some point it was decided that it's a good idea to use the customer's kitchen towels to clean up water that was spilled. I do not know where it was spilled or how far into the project it happened. I simply know that my personal towel was soaked and dirty when I got home. I work for a company similar to this. Another company that specializes in a trade. I can't imagine any employee that works for the company I do leaving a mess at someone's house, using items of the customer's to clean up after themselves, or damaging the home without mentioning it to anyone. It's completely terrible customer service and if I'm ever asked what plumber I recommend, I will go out of my way to express my distaste for M&L. Anyone looking for a plumber would be better off with a more reputable company... like Pendleton Plumbing. Generally, having a store front is a sign of a decent company that cares about it's reputation.

Went there to get a replacement for a tub/shower mixer cartridge ($52.00). As I was getting other…read moreparts the counter guy compares the old part and the one I brought in. Before I get to the counter he had put it into the new package. Made the purchase and drove home 12 miles. Once home I tried to use the new part. It was missing a rubber seal and the brass was oxidized. I called the store and told them the part was old and needed a replacement for the one bought, they said they were open for a few more hours. Once I got there they said they do not do returns on those items. They all but accused me of bringing back the old part, despite having both the old and purchased part. I pointed put the 30 day return policy on the receipt. They pointed out a letter in 12 pt font posted 10 feet behind the counter. The letter said they do not do returns on these parts. After leaving without a new part, I had to go downtown to get another part $10.00 cheaper. I will never use Standard Plumbing Supply again.
