My favorite thing so far was this spaghetti meatball dinner plate... they had the big shells with cheese inside, that was tastyyyyy! All their cold chicken sandwich's, wraps, and salads were healthy! The deserts are really good and balanced. I had an apple pie & blackberry pie! Very light sugar! Breakfast is simple and tasty! Today I had mini pancakes w blueberry jelly rolled inside! I was at an Operations Conference for Baltimore City Schools and the meals provided by Rouge Catering were freezing cold. Not sure how they were transported (day of, or prior) but I feel they should've provided a way to keep the meal warm in preparation for lunch time. We had meals like chicken, salmon, and steak with quinoa and squash. These items were hard to enjoy at such cold temperatures. read more

Rouge Fine Catering was phenomenal for our Spring Gala of over 200+ guests. From planning to execution, no detail was spared nor overlooked. We had the great fortune of working with Kaitlin to execute an event within two months on a somewhat tight budget. Kaitlin was kind and accommodating in terms of the many menu revisions we had, the seating and table arrangements, and the availability of services they provide. She was extremely professional and always had our best interests in mind. What really stood out for us is the flexibility and adaptability Rouge Fine Catering has, which can only be possible with their immense experience in the business. On the day of our event, our venue failed to set-up the furniture to our prior arrangements, forcing us to rethink the entire seating and table arrangements entirely on the day of. Thankfully, Kaitlin was able to make everything work with us under no sense of stress or worry. We were able to set everything up with time to spare. The food was also fantastic based on the overall feedback from our guests. You truly pay for a fine food dining arrangement at a reasonable price. Kaitlin, again, was pivotal to the crafting of the menu. Our favorites in particular, were the Maryland Crab Fondue, Chicken Satay, and Chocolate Macaroons. The staff that helped make the entire event happen were absolutely stellar. When it came to setting up, they were quick and efficient. A handful of them only spoke Spanish but they made it work with the communication. They even went out of their way to help set up decorations to our likings, which I highly appreciated! The bartenders especially were amazing with handling a whole bunch of graduate students looking to get buzzed. They were charismatic, quick, and kind. They definitely took care of us. I cannot recommend Rouge Fine Catering enough, they are an experienced, capable, and reliable catering company. If you have are hosting any manner of event, they are one of the best. read more

My company ordered a variety of wraps for our volunteer event in DC on Wednesday. I picked the bag with the Grilled salmon wrap. Wow!! The wrap was delicious and substantial! The salmon was perfectly cooked. Very impressed! The bag also contained oatmeal cookie, a bag of chips and water. I looked at their extensive menu and the prices seem reasonable. Rouge was an OUTSTANDING catering company. Of course, their food is just incredible - we knew immediately after our tasting that Rouge was going to be our choice. At our wedding some of the most popular items were the scallops and the mini mac n cheese skillets. The thing that really set Rouge apart was the way they treated us so special from day one. Celeste, Lindsay, and Kaitlin always made themselves available whenever we wanted to meet, and they listened to each request, and took great care of our vision for the wedding. It was a wonderful stress off my plate to have such a reliable and kind vendor taking care of such a critical part of our reception. We used Rouge for not only food, but the open bar, table and chair rentals, dishware, and linens. They were even able to help us with an outdoor patio heater! On top of all that- they turned around our venue, the B&O railroad in less than 2 hours, and they made that room look absolutely stunning. When we arrived at the reception after the ceremony, I was to delighted to have Kaitlin and Celeste ready to meet me and my husband right at the entrance, with a tray full of appetizers for us to enjoy before greeting our guests. They also packed us two complimentary to-go meals, since they knew we wouldn't get around to eating very much during the reception. I cannot express how thankful I am for Rouge elevating our wedding night into a delicious, loving, and stress-free celebration. I contacted the people in charge, and they were negative and uncaring about me getting sick. Nevertheless, we all need to be very careful where we are eating from . so my team and I ordered rogue catering for our holiday luncheon. When they arrived at the office they set the food up. All was well. When we dipped our spoon in the mashed potatoes a long black hair came out w it and we all were very sad. Scared to even eat the other dishes. I called and spoke with a representative who said they will give us a percentage off of our next catering order. I let them know that there will be no next time. The representative then placed me on hold while she got the manager. The manager got on the phone and proceeded to say, why would you say that you're never going to order w us. That's offensive to me. She went on the say your not going to eat the mashed potatoes ? You didn't just pull the hair out ? So you're going to waste perfectly good mashed potatoes ? I'm like is this lady serious. She goes on and on about how I need to look at their Google reviews. IDGAF about no Google reviews. I want to be compensated for the mashed potatoes that's it. After arguing with the manager, she proceeds to say she will refund me for the potatoes. I was so disgusted by her demeanor. I will never patron this place just based off the manager telling me to just take the hair out and still eat the potatoes. Wow. People are nasty/dirty. Working with Rouge Catering was the highlight of my April 2017 wedding in DC. Why? Three things: the food is phenomenal, the price is astoundingly affordable, and our event manager, Sarah Kelley, was maybe the most outstanding person that I have ever gotten to work with. First, the food was incredible - like, not just incredible-for-wedding-food, but actually incredible.* I am still blown away by the appetizers and how fancy they were - we had 5 types of passed appetizers (all amazingly composed AND served so you didn't need a plate to eat one, which is the hallmark of a great app) and a sprawling, homemade antipasti bar that had at least a dozen options on it. For the main meal, we did a buffet with tons of delicious options, and anyone with dietary considerations (i.e., vegan) got their own specially prepared meal. Why is it so good? They actually build a kitchen on site and cook everything. Not finishing everything - actually cook it. And it matters. Open bar was unlimited all night and included all top shelf liquors imaginable (including a whiskey and a bourbon and a scotch), a variety of beers, and three wine choices (one red blend, one white blend, and a truly outstanding rose). Second, the price - the whole meal, with fully open bar, with a three-tier Charm City wedding cake and coffee service included, and full staffing, was the best price we were quoted. No hidden costs or "add ons" that popped up later - my sole additional cost was linen rentals ($300 total for like 17 nice tablecloths and upgraded napkins), because the staff is not allowed to accept tips. I need to expound a bit here: Rouge was by far the lowest price quoted for me, and yet it was by far the fanciest. To be honest, I actually encountered them first at a wedding expo at the American Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore; their display was so upscale and elaborate, and their food was so complex and flavorful, that I didn't even call them in my initial search because I assumed that I could never afford them if I wanted to stay within our budget. Meanwhile, they managed to come in under our budget, and that price included the staff setting up the whole venue, providing all the drinks and food, doing cleanup, providing the groom and I table service, etc. They even followed us around outside on the vast venue grounds while we were taking photos to give us food and drinks. In short: rejoice in finding something you can afford and that is mind-blowing. Lastly, and maybe most importantly, event manager Sarah (and Rouge staff in general). Sarah was the most amazing person to work with; her excitement and professionalism made this the easiest and most enjoyable part of wedding planning. She was always available to us and worked to find the perfect price point for us while still providing far and beyond what I had hoped to serve at my wedding. When we visited their site for our tasting, we got to meet the owners and see how small and close the staff is, and it just felt good to give my business to people who care passionately about where they work. (Plus Sarah is hilarious and cool! I am actually sad that I don't talk to her weekly now!) The staff at the event took care of so much and allowed us and my family to just enjoy the day. The venue looked AMAZING, the staff that was there was adorably sweet and so efficient (and adept at handling tipsy and bossy family members!), and everything went off without a hitch without needing any attention from me. I cannot recommend this company enough for anything. They are truly outstanding and I cannot praise them enough. Was excited to use Rouge Catering for my wedding that was originally scheduled for last summer. They met our needs in regards to food quality and budget. In March 2020, signed a contract and paid a 20% deposit for our wedding scheduled for July 2020. A week later, the whole country unexpectedly went under lockdown for COVID. Since our wedding was made up mostly of out-of-town guests, we decided in May to make the socially-responsible choice to cancel our wedding to eliminate the risk involved with travel. Despite my various attempts, including a phone conversation explaining that rescheduling our 100+ person social gathering during a global pandemic was simply not feasible, Celeste, the owner, refused to return our deposit back to us. Rouge Catering was the only vendor that was not willing to return our deposit. Anyone who has planned a wedding knows the exorbitant amount of expenses that couples must take on for their special day. I would just be cautious of doing business with a company that doesn't feel the need to hold themselves to the same standard as everyone else in the industry. read more

Had a great experience with Rouge! As a bride starting off you have NO IDEA what you're doing. Sarah was super helpful and answered my million (literally) questions without complaint. I liked how this carter was very "all in one." I told Sarah our budget and she was able to give us cocktail hour, dinner, open bar (beer and wine), and cake all for one price. I think we were able to save some money that way. Wedding day the staff was awesome! You didn't know they were there basically, everything was so smooth and the guest raved about the food. The staff were so kind to get us food and waters during cocktail hour in a very HOT room. We have appetizers waiting for us at our sweetheart table and they made sure we ate! They did all the clean up (not of our stuff) we didn't have to worry about anything. You also get a "to go" box at the end of the night, great for that late night snack! My complaints are minor. The cake tables were pushed back in the corner and hard to see. The cupcake/cake tier was also not displayed as we talked about (however the cake may have been too heavy, not a big deal but wish someone told me ahead of time). Also the tasting, maybe this is how everyone does it and I don't know any better. A menu was written up based on our budget and we arrived for the tasting. I thought we would try a few different things and chose from that but we only tasted what was pre chosen. We ended up needing a second tasting which isn't free (I think $75pp??). The menu is HUGE (did I say HUGE!) so of course you would need help narrowing your choices but I think we would have had some different things for our tasting if I knew that's how it was done. Very disappointed in professionalism. 1. At the beginning of the Pandemic, they did not want to change the date of our event. People were dying. The venue had to contact Rouge for the date to be changed. 2. 20 minutes into our event, a chair rented from Rouge broke while our guest was sitting in it. Unfortunately, the owners did not want to take responsibility; they did not apologize yet. 3. "Ice Tea" was placed on the table 2 hours before the event, uncovered -- (ICE was never given to the guest unless they request it. Venue did not have AC; it was an 80-degree day.) read more

UPDATE: Rouge has NOT given me my refund back and are saying they are doing my daughter's wedding. The owner Jonathan called my daughter yelling at her about a post on Facebook. He demanded that she creates a new post saying that the owner of Rouge called her, and that they will be doing her wedding. They would like us to sign a mutual release agreement that is different from the one they are sending to other couples. I believe it is because of her post. I told them I do not feel comfortable signing, so they said then we are doing her wedding. We were having a great experience working with Nikki from Rouge. She left, and I have been dealing with Celeste mostly. Again, they say they are doing her wedding and we have NOT received our refund. Always read the most recent review. We signed the contract and hired Rouge to provide catering for my daughter's wedding in April 2019. Today they told me Rouge can not provide catering services because they hired undocumented worker (60%) and they are understaffed. If you have contract in 2019 you might want to find another cater. Outstanding in Every Way! Rouge saved the day! The original venue for our daughter's wedding couldn't handle the size reception we needed (COVID restrictions) so we opted for an outdoor event at our home. Lucky us!!! Rouge gave us a proposal within 24 hours of our telephone call and were very helpful every step of the way. The quality of the food and service at the event exceeded everyone's expectations. I met with Rouge about catering my wedding yesterday. I will definitely not be contracting them due to their poor business practices. Brides to be - beware. They pull the ol' bait and switch on you. I had been contacted by Rouge several times while looking for a wedding caterer, and I decided to give them a shot to show me what they had to offer. When I spoke to the contact person, Emily, about how we've been working with a different (more expensive) caterer, she offered me the same menu we had worked out with the other caterer but for several thousand dollars less. We figured we should go in and give them a shot - after all, who doesn't want to save that kind of money? We emailed back and forth quite a bit, discussing menu details and pricing. We were pretty excited to meet with them. Emily was accommodating in organizing a tasting in just a few days. I had previously explained to her that we were planning on signing a contract soon with the other caterer, so I assumed she was interested in winning our business. We went through the tasting, and the food was ok. Was it foodie-level? No. Was it good for a caterer? Definitely. We had pretty much made up our mind that we would go with Rouge to save the money, but we still wanted to do our tasting with the caterer we had been working with for weeks (which was not scheduled for another week or so). We were in a rush to get to another appointment, and as we were wrapping things up, Emily gives us an ultimatum: we either sign right then and there, or the price will be raised by several thousand dollars (by no means a small amount, in fact, it would have put them over the price of the more expensive caterer we were originally working with). She explained that they "had no idea how labor-intensive it would be to make the food" (which was sliders and flatbread, which, according to every caterer we have spoken to, is the simplest station food you could ask for), and that her boss was forcing her to raise the price this substantial amount. I asked if they could at least give us a couple of days so we could possibly think about it. She wouldn't even consider it. They based the menu they gave us on a menu from a different caterer that we loved and repeatedly assured us it was no problem. Everything on the menu was something that is part of their usual repertoire, so imagine our surprise to be suddenly told the food was, "too difficult for the price." When we asked which items were raising the price, her response was "all of it." How could a company as large as Rouge not know how intensive making sliders is until after our tasting when they make them, as they put it, "all the time"? Did they simply forget what it takes to make the food that they make literally every week? I call bull. I understand that it's common to give an incentive to sign quickly. Had she mentioned this at the beginning of our meeting and not as we were heading out the door, things would probably have ended very differently. I had been very upfront with Emily and she was very much aware that we were working with another caterer, and that we wanted to sample both menus before deciding. She remained adamant that it was a now-or-never situation. She was completely inflexible, even though our wedding was not for another year and half. She had earlier said they had no other bookings for that date, which makes the situation even more ludicrous. Up until that point we were strongly leaning towards signing with Rouge. We were even considering beefing up our menu and using them for dessert too, which would have grossed them a few extra thousand on top of what they quoted us. We were even going to pay in full at signing. But we do not appreciate being backed into a corner and manipulated. We are very irritated about how unprofessional they came across. Even if they called us today and said they'd give us the few days we asked for, we would decline. They left a terrible impression and we left angry. So, my fellow brides -- do yourself a favor and skip Rouge. If they're willing to try to force you into a contract by scaring you, imagine what they'd do after you sign it and are legally bound to them. EDITED TO RESPOND TO ROUGE'S RESPONSE: First, we did not love the food or presentation. It was better than some caterers we had tried, but not as good as others. We loved the price above anything else, and we loved how accommodating your company had been to work with us on adapting a menu that we had loved. That said, it was NEVER mentioned that the rate you offered was a "promotional price", nor were we even told about it until we were literally getting up to leave the tasting. You mention that you give a few days to let people think about it - that is simply untrue. We asked several times for a day or two to think it over, and had we gotten it we would probably have signed with Rouge. You know, I wish that I wasn't on such a ridiculously tight budget, because Rouge seemed to have some of the best customer service around. I think the person that I spoke with was Heather. Initially, I heard of the company from a bridal show in Baltimore City, and I guess I sent an email later. She didn't make me come in to discuss any options before giving me an idea of prices. She sent me a menu to my email after speaking with her on the phone about what I wanted, and said anything could be changed. It was especially helpful because I didn't really KNOW what I wanted. Truthfully, the only reason I didn't go with Rouge was because I'm fresh out of college and paying for this wedding myself, and I just can't spend the money. I WAS told, when I declined their services that they strive to fit any budget, and they apologized profusely (which was unnecessary but very sweet). Rouge catered a wedding reception that I attended at the Geppi Museum the other weekend. Here's a brief lowdown on the hits and misses of the night. HITS - Open bar with 2 specialty cocktails (some sort of martini and a mojito). The mojito was good, strong, and not too sweet - Crab cakes were delicious. A hint of sweetness from the crab (plenty of lump crabmeat in there), crispy outside - Prosciutto and melon canapés - fresh and light and tasty - Beef brisket was fork tender and delicious - Mushroom risotto had a nice al dente texture to it. Only negative was that there wasn't enough - Friendly service MISSES - Chicken cacciatore was a little bland - I wasn't a fan of the braised greens... a little too mushy for me All in all, I thought they did a great job, and more importantly the married couple was thrilled with the outcome. read more

My husband and I were so very, very lucky to have Rouge Fine Catering host our wedding celebration in April 2016. We were original directed to Rouge by our reception venue along with 10+ other recommendations. We take eating very seriously in our house and your typical wedding menu was not going to cut it for us. After scouring all the potential caterers' websites, Rouge's menu stood out to us as the most diverse and modern. From the moment we reached out to the Rouge team, the experience was extremely professional, reliable, collaborative and fun. Before we committed to using Rouge, we had a full tasting and tour of their extremely impressive Hunt Valley facility. I had it in my head that they were a "smaller" company, which certainly isn't the case. They are a well a very sophisticated, well-oiled machine. And at the same time they always made us feel special and important. That first tasting sealed the deal and all subsequent tastings with other caterers didn't compare to Rouge. The food was absolutely outstanding and most of what we tried at our first tasting ended up on our wedding menu. What impressed me even more though was how much we felt like they wanted to work with us to make us happy. I knew we were going to be in great hands with Rouge and they did not disappoint. Leading up to the wedding we were in constant communication with our catering manager, Katie Canarr. Saying that Katie is fantastic,dedicated to executing flawless events, a true partner, and a thoughtful leader may just be the understatement of the year. Katie exercised a tremendous amount of patience with our multiple menu flips and flops. She helped me work out our very tricky seating plan, our linen selections, the event's signature drink, last minute rental needs (hello space heaters in April!). Did I mention she dreamed up the world's best donut bar?? Fresh mini donuts served in a martini glass for our guests to top with the fixings of their choice? It was absolutely amazing and such a hit. Also, I never had to track down Katie. She was always one step ahead of me guiding me through the process, which is saying a lot because I was one persistent bride with a vision for what I wanted. She made the process fun, enjoyable and easy for me and my husband. Katie is an absolute rock star and our special day would not have been the same without her. On our wedding day, everything was absolutely flawless. It was more than I ever expected with even a couple surprises for this very OCD, detail-oriented bride. The Rouge staff was top notch and we even had guests comment on the level of professionalism that their team displayed. They clearly take a lot of pride in what they do from start to finish. Did I mention the food??? IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. It's been almost six months since our wedding and I still have family and friends talking about how delicious the food at our wedding was (seriously, when does that actually happen??). And they are not just saying it....they are gushing talking about specific items that they ate. Our appetizer selections included: BLT bites, coconut shrimp with mango dipping sauce, mini chicken tacos, duck confit crepes with plum sauce, brie tartlets with raspberry coulis. We served cornbread (YUM!) along with a mesclun salad with pear, cranberries, and gorgonzola. Dinner choices were either beef shortrib with a demi glaze or seafood vol au vent (unreal!) along with grilled asparagus and roasted rosemary fingerling potatoes. Then we served delish wedding cake along with the donut bar. It was a dynamite menu and a total home run with our guests! I would recommend Rouge to anyone. I am already thinking of reasons that I may need to cater more events in the future just so I can work with them again. Seriously, I am very picky and they really, truly nailed it. We were BEYOND pleased with their exceptional service, from out tasting, meeting the chef, working with MJ to customize the perfect menu, to seeing it all come together and wowing our guests. DO NOT HIRE if you have a small wedding, it was like amateur hour at my wedding. I KNOW they sent me all their trainees because they thought oh hey it's a small wedding. I waited to write this review because I didn't want to write it while still upset, but it's almost a year later and I'm as infuriated as the night of my reception. I'll start off by the ONLY good thing about the experience was that the food was delicious. Everything else was awful. I paid 6k for a small 40 person wedding, so it's not like I cheaped out on this deal, I actually overpaid because they had a minimum spend and my husband and I wanted a small wedding. Everyone on the staff looked absolutely miserable. At one point I looked over at the bartender (I'm not sure he was old enough to serve alcohol) and he was swaying back and forth during the bridal speeches like a 5 year old child staring up into the air. The "woman" who was the "manager" (I think barely 22 years old, as pretty much everyone there on the staff I think literally just graduated high school.) looked like she was annoyed to be there. Honestly the entire staff looked like their dog just died. I had asked my dad who she was and he pointed her out to me, so I made my way over to her to say hi and she just held the tray of food out to me. Not a smile or anything. So I just grabbed an app and went on my merry way. I would have at least thought I would get a smile and an intro. Amateurs. My husband had to ask the servers a few times to do things that any food or drink service would include like giving people at the tables napkins, asking people if they needed drinks, etc. I mean this is a catered event, not a company holiday party, I wanted servers for a reason so people didn't have to keep getting up to refill their drinks. I was very excited from the ceremony, so when I sat down to eat I could barely eat much. I asked the girl serving the bridal party table not to let anyone remove my food. She said to me, "It's okay, we can make you a to-go box of fresh food that you can have a little later" to which I thought GREAT! Nope. That never happened. When it came time to serve the cake some guy who barely spoke English asked me if I was ready to serve the cake (me? the DJ and my Dad where the people managing all the logistics, not the bride.) After going back and forth twice trying to figure out what he was asking me, I told him yes to serve, but don't serve the topper, start with the second layer. First of all, even if he didn't understand me, if you are pros you should know NOT to serve the cake topper. They served the topper... which we wanted to keep for our 1 year anniversary. Amateurs. Then they just started cleaning up when the time came. No last call, no final walk through to make sure that everyone was fine on dessert or drinks. All of a sudden everyone started whispering and such and so I asked and my friend said, "well I think they are starting to clean up." A few people tried to get final drinks and THEY WOULDN'T LET THEM. Here's the worst part, I had asked the first manager over the phone when first deciding on the package with or without alcohol, if the alcohol was going to stay and I swear she said yes. So I'm standing there arguing with the caterers that the alcohol was supposed to stay. Otherwise we would have purchased backup for when the caterers left. I PROMISE SHE SAID YES. I organized my entire wedding, I knew every single detail. So close to the end of my wedding reception my cousin had to make a beer run and grab some food because people were getting hungry again. At this moment, I really felt like I had been robbed. I still do to this day. Especially when I went inside and #1 saw they had served the cake topper, and #2 there wasn't a to-go plate of food for me, although yes technically I should have eaten more when they served dinner, but I'm the bride, I paid for this, give me a break. To this day I feel cheated by the whole experience. To me it was like the staff didn't want to be there and took the opportunity to get the hell out when they could which I don't understand why because it was a blast of a wedding otherwise. (Thanks to our amazing DJ.) I would have expected some SMILES on these peoples' faces. When the Manager met me to at minimum acknowledge me, I mean it was kind of obvious I was the bride. The only saving grace was that the food was delicious, which I'm sure everyone on the staff enjoyed including their families when they took it all home with them. If I could go back and do it again I would have hired someone else who I already had lined up but a friend of mine told me to go with Rouge. UGH. read more

Went here for a wedding caterer tasting with my fiance- we had tried a few other caterers prior to arriving there, and I have to say our experience here was of the highest caliber- their presentation, customer service, responsiveness, price, capabilities, and total experience gave us a great fealing that their execution of our special day would be nothing short of perfection. We used Rouge for our wedding (April 2017), and from start to finish they were amazing to work with. We worked primarily with Jordan and she is one of the nicest people. Not only did she provide a very competitive price, but she went above and beyond by 1)researching the best recipe for Mambo sauce so we could serve it with our late night chicken tenders, 2) providing a complimentary champagne toast when we decided to get cupcakes from another vendor (even though the cupcakes she offered us were also complimentary AND Rouge still provided a 6" cake for cutting free of charge!), and 3) accommodating 2 tastings when we couldn't settle on a vegetarian entree. Rouge, and Jordan specifically, understand customer service and how to help clients put on the best event they can. She was always super responsive to all of my random questions and even helped fix the lighting on our dance floor the night of since she is familiar with the venue. The food is delicious (such a wide variety of choices) and we got tons of compliments from our guests. We really went into the wedding thinking there was no way the food was going to be as good as it was during the tasting (because it's mass produced, might be cold, etc.) but it was really tasty and great! ​There aren't enough good things I can say about my experience with Rouge Fine Catering. First and foremost, my manager, Kelly, was the stuff brides dream of. From the tasting, to the site visits, to timelines, and especially the day-of execution of our wedding everything was perfection. Our venue was Woodlawn in Alexandria so we were a bit nervous about the logistics of having an outside wedding, but Kelly and her team had everything covered. I'd always been weary of venues that have an exclusive caterer in the past, but I'm SO happy Woodlawn guided me to Rouge Fine Catering. Rouge is run by oddly rude, careless kids who clearly only work there for a paycheck while they're in college. Other caterers take pride in each client, know your name, learn about your event, and create a whole experience for you. However, with Rouge, your experience will be disappointingly impersonal, as they make it clear from the beginning that you are just another nameless, faceless customer of theirs. Each email or phone exchange is cluttered with obnoxiously standard generic questions, as if you're taking a survey instead of planning your event. At times you feel like you're not even worth their time. They express no interest in you or your event, and even come across as burdened by your inquiries. Their food is mediocre at best, and at least 50% more expensive than comparable caterers - especially after they change the price on you. When we got our proposal, they had some significant details incorrect, like the date of the event, the number people...etc. Working with someone to get this corrected was an entire ordeal in itself. The staff is hardly friendly, and you're lucky to get their attention if you need to. They have obvious attitudes and spend a noticeable amount of time gossiping and texting. Choosing a caterer is one of the most significant things you'll do in planning your day. Rouge is NOT the kind of company you want to include in something so important. read more

We used Rouge last month to cater at our wedding. We are extremely satisfied with the level of professionalism they represent. From the tasting, to the milk shakes at the end of our reception, staff, waiters and bartenders did a great job. We didn't hear one complaint from our guests about food, which was delicious. Rouge worked with us to create our custom menu and everything worked out great. They were very responsive and attentive. It was a pleasure. EPIC!!! They catered an event I attended last week and while I had heard the rave reviews, they crushed it!!! 1000 people at the bmore zoo penguin exhibit... doing anything this size usually ends in a crash and burn... let me repeat this - THEY CRUSHED IT!!! tenderloin was perfect, taco cones filled with either chicken or braided short ribs were wonderful. Salmon was super... desserts were flowing and a great presentation. Taste was a 10. Enough staff was on hand to ensure that nothing was left unattended. Bars were manned to perfection, wait staff was exceptionally trained and on point. Wouldn't consider using anyone else for an event. They won me over, and I can be a touch critical. I went to a wedding in Annapolis and rouge had catered it. The staff were all extremely sweet and attentive. Made sure any empty glasses I was holding or trash were taken immediately. Appetizers were delicious perfect little snacks and beautifully displayed during cocktail hour. When it was time for dinner they started with a strawberry, blue cheese salad with a vinegarette that was so perfect. Now for the meal.... Honestly I don't even know where to begin. IT WAS PERFECT. chicken, beef, potatoes, and asparagus, all on one plate. Let's start with the chicken, the flavor was amazing a little lemony in the most perfect way. I ate one thing at a time because once I started in something it was to good to stop. So then o had the potatos, covered in caramelized onions (I HATE ONIONS) and the potatoes were almost sweet from the onions and full of flavor melted in my mouth. Then the beef... Just heavenly smothered in gravy the perfect amount of flavor and salt... completely savory and also melted in your mouth. Now for the asparagus... WOW. Huge pieces that were cooked to pure perfection. NOT STRINGY at allllll. Perfectly crisp and crunchy with all of the flavor. This meal was by far the BEST meal o have ever had at a wedding. Just wow. You're guests will be obsessed with the food and service. You will not be sacrificing anything when you choose this place to cater. You get great service, incredible food, and dessert, all while never having to sacrifice for chicken or beef, or great service for great food! read more

I have never experienced such poor customer service. I was a long time customer since Rouge was known as Poulet Catering and ever since they became Rouge, the attitude and quality of food has deteriorated. I've had many poor experiences with this company as of late but the most recent was the straw that broke the camels back... I had a dinner event at 5:00 PM and Rouge mistakenly delivered the food at 11:45 am. When I alerted them of this situation, they only offered to give me 50% off an additional order that they would deliver at 5:00 PM.... They refused to take responsibility and my event was all but ruined as I didn't have any funds left in the budget to pay to have more food delivered. This is only 1 example of how they run things at Rouge. In addition to poor customer service, they are extremely over priced and will not work with you at all for large groups. They're solution in that situation is to offer less food or a less appealing option. I cannot recommend them to anyone and will never use them again. read more
