I have given this review much thought before finally deciding that this Breeder needs to be know of their shady practices.
To begin, I don't believe, at least I cannot find any records that this is a legitimate business. With that in mind, you are at the mercy of them when dealing with them, and no recourse for anything should something go wrong.
I began searching for a new German Shepherd Dog (GSD), over two years ago when I found this breeder. I contacted the owner who takes there time getting back with you. The owner was very pleasant and knowledgeable until, you make your deposit. They require a $250 deposit on a puppy that ranges $1000 to $1500, which depends on the owner and no other criteria. Male or female, runt, nothing changes to price range but the owners discretion.
Once I made my deposit, I adopted an older GSD from a friend who abruptly passed a month after re-homing this new GSD. I called to explain and request my deposit back and the true side of the owners came out. I was not only told no, but HELL NO, refunds. I then took myself off the waiting list, which I was never informed where on that list I was, and I wrote my money off as lesson learned.
About a year later I decided to look again for a companion for my older GSD. I figured since I had a deposit already, why not look into getting one from this breeder.
It took about two months and the breeder informed me that there was one male left and it was mine if I wanted it and there would be no guarantees when the next would come available. I was given two pictures, that looked like many past puppy pictures. They refused to send any current pictures. They stated they needed the remaining balance to hold the puppy until I could drive down and pick him up. So I made a payment of $1000 after being told he was $1500 without explanation of the charges. When I made arrangements to pick him up I was informed that I still owed $1250. For the puppy. I then asked for a refund and was denied. I know I'm looking pretty stupid about now, but I finally agreed to pay the remaining balance to get something to show for it rather than losing out on my money.
The time came to travel down and pick him up and a winter storm came through causing travel impassable. I then called to ask about shipping. They were more than happy to do this, but it goes through a third party and it would be another $400. I received an explanation of why, the create costs most of the fee. I should say, that it was only $320 at first, but then they called back saying he was to big for the regular create and they would buy one for me that for him, $80 later.
He was shipped through an airline, where I and the puppy experienced the worst trauma, but that's another story and not in the breeders hands.
When I picked up the puppy from the airlines, he was in an old (and broken) cat carrier that was not worth $20, let alone $80. I never received any papers stating he was able to be registered, so I have paid almost $3000 for an unregistered dog that has health issues.
Since then the pup has grown without his ears standing up, and when I called concerned about it, the breeder responded with some hair brained ideas, including shaving his ears. The vet I went to stated they will never stand up, also found that his hips are not looking good.
He also has a bladder control issue, that surgery might be able to fix. But he cannot control his bladder "EVER". He constantly pees, when he's walking, laying down, eating, whenever.
I just simply want to warn anyone and everyone about this inbreeder of a puppy mill that thinks they are all that. With attitude, no paperwork to back their so called guarantee, and outrageous fees that climb every time you call, this must be the most unethical breeder I have ever dealt with. You have been warned. read more
