Marrone Detailing

We recently retired and moved to Ocean County. We hired Marrone Power Washing to restore our…read morebackyard paver patio, and we couldn't be happier with the results! The pavers had accumulated years of dirt, algae, moss, and weeds between the joints. What a transformation! Anthony was professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with from our very first conversation. He explained the entire process, answered all our questions, and provided a very fair price. The work included a thorough cleaning, fresh polymeric sand between the pavers, and a premium wet-look sealer. He also cleaned our retaining wall. Anthony and his helper worked diligently, and we appreciated the care and attention to detail they demonstrated throughout the project. The finished results are remarkable, and I'm especially looking forward to not constantly pulling weeds between those pavers! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Marrone Power Washing to anyone looking for quality workmanship, fair pricing, and excellent customer service!

I hired Anthony Marrone to clean, re-sand, and seal my paver patio. The patio itself came out…read morelooking good, but unfortunately, the way the job was handled afterward left me extremely disappointed. Before the job, I specifically pointed out two or three sunken pavers that needed to be leveled. I pointed them out during the estimate and again before the job. Anthony acknowledged that they needed to be corrected and actually attempted to lift one of them, but did not have the proper extraction tool. He told me he would return with the proper tool to take care of them. Based on that commitment, I paid the job in full. Afterward, when I followed up, I was told that he had spoken with a paver supplier and now believed removing the pavers could disturb the freshly sealed joints. I understand that concern, but the issue is that I was promised the pavers would be corrected before I paid in full. I don't believe a customer should be told "no problem" and then, after the work is completed and payment has been made, be told that the commitment is no longer going to be honored. I was also disappointed that approximately 18 square feet of the changing-room area was not completed, despite that area being included in the square footage discussed for the job. There was a power strip for an outdoor tv/cable box that simply had to be unplugged. He took it upon himself not to complete that area because of "the wiring." Really? I would have gladly removed it myself if he had told me. But he left his helper alone who had only started employment 2 weeks prior. Also, there were gaps along the foundation that I had to point out, and I ultimately told him to forget about the area because I wasn't looking to be overly fussy. My concern was simply having the work completed as discussed. To be clear, I am not saying the entire patio looks bad--it actually looks good. My issue is follow-through and customer service. When a contractor makes a commitment to correct something, especially after the customer has specifically pointed it out and paid in full based on that understanding, I believe that commitment should be honored. Anthony ultimately told me the pavers would have to wait until a future re-sanding, potentially years from now. That's not the resolution I expected after being told it would be taken care of. The quality of the finished patio may look good, but in my experience, good business also means keeping your word and standing behind what you told the customer. Unfortunately, I was left feeling that this commitment was not honored. Either he lied about re-leveling the pavers or this 24 year old man is simply inexperienced. Neither is a good quality for a contractor. Bottom line is if you need to redo your stone, don't call Marrone.
