I had my right shoulder surgery at this outpatient facility and my orthopedic md is also here. I only have positive things to say for this facility and md office. My doctor is Dr. Thomas Green. I like is patient side mannerisms. I know he listens to my concerns. Since my complex right shoulder surgery, my previous pain is gone. My pain is now due to my recent surgery. Per Dr. Green shoulders take time. I will say he was correct. I am feeling much better. Only time will heal. I also want to mention his nurse Emily. Emily is the best! Any concerns I had about my surgery, paperwork or meds, Emily was ready to listen. I really appreciate the attention Emily gave me when I had concerns. I highly recommend this surgery center. I also highly recommend Dr. Green and his staff. read more

Had a horrible experience with Kevin Shelby (Spine specialist). Terrible bedside manor. Made me feel like I was a complete annoyance to him in the 5-10 minutes I was in his presence. If you expect to ask questions and have your back looked at, don't choose Dr. Shelby. If I could give less than one star I would. read more

How did Rothman's Chalfont branch lose a patient of 3 years? Before such is discussed, know that they recently had an unfavorable 1.7 star rating (out of 5)! Because of my bad experience, I rate them as 1 1/2 stars. Further, their website states "that most customers are generally dissatisfied". It also comments that they have ".... mixed, often poor reviews regarding administrative services". And ".... patient complaints include include long wait times and poor communications". My sad story follows: in Oct., 2025, I received knee shots for my arthritic knees by Dr. Schroeder, who did an excellent job. As per practice, the nurse scheduled me for the next appointment in 6 months. The interval is necessary to maintain pain free knees. However, the appointment date was rescheduled by Rothman 2 more times, making the interval time 6 1/2 months in which my knees suffered during the "extra" 1/2 month. Consequently. I sent a complaint email to President Alexander Vaccaro on Apr. 14, 2026. Although no reply was received from his staff, the visit on May 4, 2026, experienced retaliation by the Chalfont staff. First of all, I was not taken "in order of entry" following the Kiosk application. Next, D.O. Edward J. Rosero, unlike all previous times in which I sat on the table with legs dangling, had me lay down on the table in a method that has not been done before! That is, for my right knee, he did not inject the ORTHOVISC in the front, right side of the knee but instead, into the rear, right side of the knee. Ditto the left knee. The pain in my right knee continues and did not seem to be effective. Was the shot retaliation? On May 11, 2026, the last of 3 consecutive, weekly shots were administrated by the D.O. & the right knee is still experiencing soreness! I hope that such does not continue for the next 5 1/2 months, when the next shots are received. Anyway, Rothman will NOT perform the service then because I am going to another, non Rothman doctor for the shots. read more

Rothman is the prime example of of what is wrong with health care today. A huge conglomerate with a call center which they don't want you to call. Have to go to a patient portal & leave a message on there to the attention of whoever you want to reach. They use a a call center with no one who can help you anyway. Except schedule an appointment weeks to months away. On a whole, Rothman relies too heavily on physician assistants & nurse practitioners. Sorry, there is just no substitute for what is learned in 4 years of medical school& an internship. Three to five years residency and possibly a fellowship. The above are cost cutting measures put in by MBA's & insurance CEO's who know nothing about patient care. Once you have surgery, Rothman washes its hands of you. If there is a problem, they won't clean up their own mess. They refer you to pain management or physical therapy. It is good-bye and good luck. A quote, "Your issue is no longer surgical." Really? Then why am I still in pain? I say this as a nurse with a BSN plus 24 graduate credits for specialty certification. And a career in different areas of nursing which spanned 46 years. I am sad as a nurse & frustrated as a patient to see what has happened to health care today. The physicians did not stand up to the MBA administrators & insurance companies. So we, the patients, suffer. Physicians & surgeons created this mess. They need to stand up & clean it up before "Management" decides, "You know, we don't need these high cost doctors anymore. Let's get rid of as many as we can." I only hope these MBA's & CEO's need a good doctor one day & can't find one for themselves or their families. Then they will see what a mess they created. Of course, they will use their influence to get special treatment. A luxury the rest of us don't have. read more

I am a mature woman, 65, generally speaking in very good health. I went to see Dr. Jake Schroeder. He commented to me several times, "you kept on running even though you had pain". He doesn't know why I run. He doesn't know how important it is to me. I felt like he was blaming me for the pain I'm feeling. I felt like he thought I was wasting his time with my minimal problem that shouldn't have even been referred to him. I don't know if he meant to be arrogant or if it just comes naturally to him. read more

haven't even seen the doctor yet an my experience is horrendous. I inadvertently forgot to send off to U of P hospital authorization to release MRI disks. I tried to call the specific office and apparently there is no way to get that numberI had gone thru the office's website over 2 weeks ago asking if they can call for the disks. I never got a reply. There is no office number, the 800 number only sends you to automated "person": This guy at the 800 number (To their credit you call the 800 number and after a few minutes on hold they offer the 'well call you back option and they did within about 5 minutes) was of no help and kept talking over me (I had to raise my voice. He said why are raising your voice, I replied Because you keep talking over me: (so if they reply if they can this is exactly what transpired.) He said there is no number for the office itself and if I don't have the diskc they wont see me. He asked if I wanted to reschedule. I told him I have brain fog and long haul covid so I did forget to send in authorization and I cant go to U of P personally because it is over 1 hour trip, up and back, and requires a lot of walking. He said well go do that then but there's no way for the doctors office to call etc to get it. He said I could fax authoria=zatiin form. I told him I have no fax. Thats when he said well do you want to reschedule? I said no Ill go without the disks he reiterated they wont see me and the appt will be cancelled. How are you supposed to get any information from this office if they won;t give you the number. There are questions thatmay arise, for instance di they require a mask etc and you cant talk to that office. This is shameful. 20yrs ago I received a cervical fusion after an accident while working at my job. Dr. Vaccaro performed my surgery and I trust no one else to touch my neck since my spinal cord is involved. Fast forward.. the level above my fusion has failed, which led me to this location to meet with Dr. Yan Gu, who is is fabulous doctor. We were ready to more forward to have an MRI done to see if my spinal cord is involved, again, and to see if I need to go back to Dr. Vaccaro in Philadelphia and in the meantime, try a conservative approach to get my pain under control. So, my neck is owned by Caesars AC, insurance company and this appears to be an issue with Rothman even though, any costs related to my neck, since this was settled in court, with medical left open for the rest of my life, has come to a screeching halt. However, Rothman's worker's compensation department doesn't think this is good enough, even though my insurance company has agreed to pay any costs associated with my neck and any treatment that is required. I have called, my representative has called, a letter was faxed which showed a confirmation that it was received and I'm told that no one has this letter and maybe you can just call back later in the week. Sadly, I am left without anywhere to go, my appointments are cancelled and there is no one to help me. When I do call, they act as if you're bothering them and to be quite honest, it feels as if my insurance isn't good enough for them. Honestly, I am quite shocked to be in a position like this with Rothman and it's very sad. A simple phone call would have been appreciated as a follow up to at least let me know anything. I have never felt more discouraged in my life and it's quite sad that I should have to leave a review like this. read more

Was a patient at Rothman clinic, in Chalfont. Had sustained a significant hand injury due to an auto accident. Had high hopes for quality care at a Rothman titled clinic. But sadly, the care was mediocre. The hand specialist Dr. was dismissive and condescending. Always in a hurry for the next patient. Felt like a factory, always next, next, next. The PT side of the clinic was not so wonderful as well. After that experience, if I fell right in front of the building and injured myself I wouldn't walk in, I would crawl to the nearest hospital instead. read more

I've had multiple foot and ankle surgeries here and each one of them was very successful. The doctors are genuine and honest.

This place is a scam. Big name office means they can squeeze every last ounce out of you without anybody questioning it. I was forced to do surgery so quick after my injury. And then overcharged for everything against my insurance. Then of course, 3 months after surgery I get a letter saying I owe another $1000.... because they submitted paperwork delayed to my insurance. On top of that they charged me $995 for a stupid $100 knee brace. Unbelievable. This has been the worst experience ever. I already went through having ACL surgery and now since it's after surgery I get pummeled with all this crap that I owe even more. Plus $50 deductible each and every visit I made to this place. Rothman Institute model - Overcharge your insurance and overcharge you then send you to collections for the rest of your life! Thanks rothman. I will post this everywhere I can to make sure nobody I know has to go through this terrible process. You guys definitely care for your lovely patients. read more

I have read so many poor reviews! I have nothing but great things to say about Rothman. I had two total hip replacement surgeries done by Dr. Craft. One on July 1st and the second one October 28th. Dr. Craft and his staff have answered all my questions and were so professional throughout the whole process. Thank you Rothman Orthopedics staff in Chalfont, Abington Hospital Lansdale nurses and staff, and Dr.Craft and his staff. my doctor & surgeon (dr. moody kwok) excellent service provider. dr. moody kwok and his surgical team very professional totally comforting & reassuring throughout my surgery. i had an excellent recovery, as well as an excellent experience throughout my entire procedure. i thank all of rothman orthopedics out of chalfont for the care i received at their facility. i cannot say anything other then that this facility puts patients care first. i would recommend this location to anyone that is in need of good doctor or good care providers. read more

Came in with a patient with an already x-rayed and booted broken leg. Filled out a ridiculously long iPad survey and saw the doctor for 10 minutes. He changed the Ace bandage and said to stay in the boot provided by urgent care for six weeks. Charged $1200 for that. read more

My Dr. ( Dr Kraft) was great however I'm totally unhappy with the fact that he "sold out" to Rothmann. They are an orthopedic factory, plus a lot of their policies I've found out were not above board. I wanted to make SURE that my surgery was performed by Dr. Kraft and I was informed that residents or interns my be a part of the surgical team. When I pressed it, I was told legally I could not prevent them from participating. I found out since that I could! They didn't give me full information either about the recovery. I assumed they would schedule some PT therapy for at least a week after, instead I get these dopey video's on my cell phone!. What kind of treatment is that? This would have never happened had it still been Abington Orthopedics! read more

This is my 2nd appointment but the 1st was similar to this one. Doctor is reputable and trustworthy, however, timeliness of this office is horrible. Arriving earlier than my scheduled 8:15 am appointment results in being taken back to exam room at 8:30 only to sit in exam room until 9:15 when I get up to request the reason for the delay. Told I was next to be seen only to be kept waiting for the doctor until 9:26. Getting my diagnosis and taking my followup care to another practice. Unacceptable business practice. read more

The Rothman Institute Physical Therapy Facility in Chalfont, PA cancelled FOUR of my ongoing physical therapy appointments without prior notification or reason!! I have been going to Rothman Institute for Physical Therapy for over a month. I have initially set up regular appointments and was given appointment reminders for each of the scheduled visits ahead of time. However, two weeks ago I went to one of my regular appointments and was told by the admin person that my three physical therapy sessions for that week were cancelled! I was not notified ahead of time of the cancellation. The admin person did not know why the appointments for the entire week were cancelled and claimed that there was another admin person that swapped duties with her. I showed the admin person the appointment reminder papers for the three cancelled appointments and she still could not justify the cancellations. I did not make a big fuss of it, and a week later, I continued my physical therapy there. Things went OK that week. However, I showed up today for my regular appointment only to be told again that my today's appointment was previously cancelled for no reason and without prior notification! I was given a phone number of a Rothman Institute manager to call and file a complaint. However, I am so turned off because of the awful way I was treated at that Rothman Institute Physical Therapy Facility in Chalfont, PA. They obviously have no regards for my time and they delayed the recovery of my painful injuries. This is bad practice and so unprofessional. read more

I see Dr. Chu and he gives you the time you need and explains everything. Staff is friendly. I do get the feeling that the desk staff is overworked (like most medical offices). It can be hard to call in. I started the appointment-making process online today and had to answer a bunch of questions. Somebody will call me. I don't mind making contact via the web but all of the questions are for their convenience, not mine. But still, no major complaints. read more

Been Going to Rothman the last month and half for my knee. Turned out i had several tears in both medial and lateral meniscus. One of which was complex tear in the lateral portion (multiple tears in one spot) Since i am a middle age man, the doctor told me he was going to sow as much meniscus back in. I found out all he did was shave the both meniscus's and removed it. NO REPAIR what so ever! Since surgery I have been been dealing with my knee giving out, same as its did prior to surgery! I also have zero bend in my knee. I also had issue with billing. Typically, any surgery I have ever had, I get billed any portion that I owe. Not at Rothman, I show up to the surgery center the day of my surgery and i am told I am expected to pay almost $700 out of pocket! I am a single dad who lives paycheck to paycheck. Who the hell demands some to pay that day of surgery!!!! UNREAL! read more

Dr. Rosero was abrupt and cold throughout my first appointment with an orthopedic doctor for knee pain. He seemed bothered I was there and had short patience when I said "ow" when he squeezed my painful knee, saying "soooorrrry" with a sarcastic drawl. He decided he was going to drain my knee without ANY explanation or discussion with me! I felt completely ambushed, was clearly scared and objected to it from the start, but rather than discussing my injury and treatment options, he went about getting ready to do the procedure without even listening to me, only asking with a sarcastic wine, " well does your knee hurt ?" I asked twice for any alternatives since I was scared to death of an aspiration, and he begrudgingly offered Rx steroids for the inflammation. I asked if there may be a tear or some injury causing the swelling and pain. He said "I would drain it and look for blood in the fluid, but you won't let me drain it, so,,," then walked out of the room. Why weren't my options and needs explained and presented in a way that would help me ? It's ok if he doesn't like people, perhaps he would do better in research instead of direct patient care. He also failed to return my ER records to me, so a few days latter I got an envelope in the mail with no return address, no letter, nothing, just the CD of my ER records. Is that the kind of treatment and communication expected from Rothman? To make matters worse, I submitted my concerns to the patient feedback link on Rothman's website, and they never bothered to respond at all! AVIOD THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!
