I hired Brandon Roth based on the firm's reputation and positive reviews. Looking back, I regret that decision. To give credit where it's due, my charge was reduced through a plea agreement. Beyond that, I struggle to point to what I paid for. My expectation wasn't just to plead to a lesser charge--that's the basic job of a criminal defense attorney. I expected communication, advocacy, and the feeling that someone was actually fighting for me. Instead he is quite condescding when he even is at fault. Instead, communication was poor. At one point, Brandon referred my mom--who was simply a witness--to another attorney at the another firm. In my opinion, there was no reason my own attorney couldn't have handled that instead of sending me to a colleague and generating another legal bill. It felt completely unnecessary. He will tell you otherwise, but it had no bearing in my case. Things got worse when Brandon went on vacation without telling me. I couldn't get ahold of him, no one showed up when I expected representation in court, and I was left scrambling. I was so frustrated that I took it out on his secretary, and she didn't deserve that. My frustration was with the lack of communication, not with her. When I finally spoke to Brandon, his response was essentially that I had "messed up" and that I was free to find another attorney. That's easy to say after you've already collected thousands of dollars. There was never any discussion of refunding fees or taking responsibility for how the situation was handled. The part that really left a bad taste in my mouth came after everything was over. Suddenly, communication wasn't a problem anymore. I received an email asking me to leave him a positive review, complete with a convenient link. I wish half that effort had gone into communicating with me while I was actually a client. I can't speak for the rest of Roth Davies or its attorneys. This review is only about my experience with Brandon Roth. He obtained a plea agreement, and I'll acknowledge that. But for the amount I paid, the communication, unnecessary referral, and overall client experience fell far short of what I expected. I would not hire him again. I wouldn't even trust him as part of my kid's little league or basketball team, morals left a long ago. Marissa was horrible. Hired in a high conflict custody case and failed to perform-period! Judge asked why are we here today? She was silent and when respondent's counsel went way off subject...still crickets on the other end. This was after an hour phone call in advance of hearing to confirm what she needed to get across in that hearing. This is just one example. Missed multiple deadlines. Did not notify of waiving objections and ability to waive was lost. Didn't review material sent to her or prepare for hearings, other than when she could bill me. AVOID AVOID AVOID. read more

Had the unfortunate opportunity to hire a lawyer in Olathe, KS. Brandan Davies made himself available at short notice, was attentive, was knowledgeable, and overall was a nice guy. So why the poor review? He was inattentive to detail, and unprepared when it came to my case. Not the billing. He was very attentive to billing - like the three trips, in one week, to the court house and back to pick up "discs of evidence". As a tourist transiting the Olathe area attending my court dates were a major inconvenience and expense. Brandon failed to communicate with the ADA regarding court dates and proper format. This wasted my time and money. In retrospect I would have been much better off handling this directly with the ADA without a lawyer. Did he get a first time offender/veteran off without additional jail time on a misdemeanor? Yes. 30 days suspended, one year probation. $261 court costs, $4,500 lawyer bill. read more

Awesome service! If you ever have a traffic issue I would highly recommend Brandan Davies. He represented me in a traffic issue regarding no insurance on my car due to a change of card oversight on my part and got me into a diversion program to avoid a conviction for lack of insurance. We should have been all done but I was having trouble getting what I needed out of the insurance company that I needed to provide in court. He ended up staying on the phone with me and USAA for 56 minutes to help me get what I needed for the court. I honestly don't think I would have gotten what I needed without his assistance even after he was technically done with what he was contractually obligated to provide me.
