I thought long and hard about whether or not to write this review. I always want to support local…read morebusinesses and do my best to encourage others to do the same. I was very excited the first time I went into Heart Strings & Love Knots Boutique. I went in there because I was looking for some fun items for a weekend getaway with my boyfriend and I had heard that she had a back room full of goodies. I was not disappointed when I went there. The woman was initially very helpful and because much of her merchandise was so reasonably priced I ended buying not only some massage oil but two shirts as well. All in all, my maiden shopping voyage in the store was a pleasant experience and I went home and told all my friends to bring their business to her because she deserved to make more sales. Then I wore one of the shirts I bought and silly me, I washed it. There were no instructions included with the shirt about special care or dry clean only or anything of the sort. It was just a cotton shirt. A cotton shirt that completely shrunk up to nothing upon first washing and totally changed shaped. It is now basically unwearable to me. When I discovered this I took it back to the store. I didn't expect to get my money back because I no longer had the receipt. But I was expecting either some store credit or most likely (and what I wanted ultimately) a replacement shirt. That's just good business. Imagine my surprise when she greeted me with a huge smile, remembered exactly who I was and what I bought, looked at the shirt and agreed it was not wearable and that it should not have shrunk up like that and THEN refused to take it back because in her words "I can't afford it." I was told she will only take back an item that she can send back or resell. Which means the merchandise is crappy and falls apart after one wearing, thats just too bad. Because while SHE can't afford it, I apparently can. I was disgusted by this and told her I would not be back. I think it's very unfortunate as I likely would have spent a great deal more money in her store if things had gone differently. I don't believe the woman running the store is a bad person. I do think she's extremely inexperienced at running a business and sadly, it makes for initially enthusiastic but ultimately poor customer service. I'm not saying don't shop there. I'm just saying be aware of what you're getting and that it likely will not last you any time and when it falls apart, you're on your own. If disposable clothes are your thing, then this is the place for you. I was very angry about this whole experience at the time and told my friend about it. My friend, well meaning, wrote a review here on yelp stating she had never shopped here and never would because of my experience. The review has since been deleted. Probably because she's never been to the store. Maybe this one will be deleted too because it's negative. I don't know. But I do now that my experience has been shared and that's as far as I need to take it. Heart Strings & Love Knots markets itself as "The store for crazy girls". This is very, VERY accurate. Because spending $24 on a shirt you get to wear exactly one time is definitely crazy.

Walked around the store and ended up seeing a dress that I thought was cute. I ended up trying it on, didn't like how it looked on me so I came out of the dressing room and put the dress back in the rack. Talked to Ryleigh (not sure if that's how you spell her name), and then walked out of the store and went to another clothing store on the same area. I was in the second store for about 5-10 minutes. While I was talking to the store owner, I was approached and followed by Ryleigh from Thistle's Boutique and was accused of stealing the dress that I tried on. Ryleigh was so unprofessional and so disrespectful for accusing me of stealing. When I say I was so embarrassed, but more pissed over the situation. I kid u not, she literally accused me in front of everyone about the dress. She said there was two dress on there inventory and only one is in store. Went back in Thistle with Ryleigh and there the store owner Jacqueline (not sure if that's how you spell it) was there looking at the CCTV on her phone. I was explaining it to them how there was only one dress of the same kind when I took it off the rack. But by this time I was already so mad and was trying to calm myself. How dare them accused me of stealing in front of my girls without looking at the CCTV first before approaching me. I was so disappointed at the whole thing. The owner keeps apologizing about the situation while trying to look at the video of what really happened. Turns out, she seen it on the CCTV that there two females ahead of me who stole the dress. I refused to leave the store until she seen me putting the dress back on the rack. Jaqueline (Thistle Boutique's owner) apologized up and down because of what happened. I have to say, I handle the situation amazingly because if I really wanted to pushed the situation, I could've sued them. It was black and white on the video that they accused me of stealing without proof. Store owner, know that your employee represents you and your store. Make sure you train your employees well. Have them know the rules and law. I will definitely not be going back to this Thistle Boutique. Thank you Jaqueline for your apology, but it was a very much needed one. I hope you took care of your employee Ryleigh. To tell you the truth, she should be let go and be fired. She is not the kind of person that should represent you and your store. Classic Trendz Boutique is amazing. The owner is an incredible person. She actually also, talked to Jacqueline about the situation because she witness when Ryleigh accused me.
