An attractive, fairly small courthouse. Stopped in to see about a parking ticket. My fault, but…read moreconfusing meter placement, so I wanted to try not to have to pay it. Turns out, this is the place you pay tickets; you need to talk to the police department if you are disputing it. The staff here were great. Security tried to answer my ticket questions, and directed me to a counter. The lady there gave Baby K a sucker, and explained what I needed to do, giving me the phone number for the police and tips on navigating the phone system, who to talk to, etc. All in all a pleasant experience here, plus I did end up fixing the ticket with their help. Parking around back and on streets nearby, but be careful and read the signage- you don't want to get a ticket while dealing with another one...

Mothman is so fun and freakishly wild and just about the only thing that puts this sleepy West Virginia town on the map. If you're within twenty or thirty miles and at all susceptible to kitsch how can you not swing by and snap a pic or three and maybe a couple dozen selfies with ol' red eyes here in all his anthropomorphic glory? And not only is your time with the statue free but you might actually make money if you choose to snatch the funds people have stuck into Mothy's bunghole. I don't know the story on that custom and pilfering butt money might be bad luck, though. As much as it pains this Detroiter to admit it I must say the Mothman statue is cooler than the Robocop statue.

I definitely agree with some of the other reviewers that people could be more thoughtful at this attraction . There were a lot of people taking their sweet time and grabbing all over the statue and just kind of hanging out chatting. We personally just waited patiently to take a couple photos, read the plaque and move on, which I feel like most people should know is standard etiquette for something like this. Definitely worth a stop and a few photos if you're in the area. Please be considerate of others and as always "All hail Mothman!".

But it took 3 1/2 hours of him banging on the door while screaming there trying to kill me. He must have gotten a concussion and was having hallucinations of people trying to hurt him. The mattress was thin but there was enough to go around, the blanket had holes in it but they replaced it when they felt like it. The food was exotic I couldn't recognize it and the milk tasted like it had cereal in it already but I'm all for recycling theres even games inside! I played a card games with people and you win snacks if you do good! You get beat up if you do bad I guess they want you to be the best you can be there's even people who refuse to leave the place and we call them lifers, good for them! I rate it a 4 out of 5 because the TV could have Dish instead of cable our friends argued a lot about there being nothing to watch. My girl is so jealous I'm having fun that she wants to pay money for me to leave smh.
