The people are very nice and personable. However, whenever I pay 61$ for an acrylic refill and TWO days later THIS is happening, I will not be coming back. First they were not friendly at all my nail tech (blk lady from Boston I dont remember her name) said she was the sister of the owner but turns out thats a exaggeration I believe the mother of the owner is her god mother not that that has a thing to do with my complaint but I think was told out of wanting the shock value of-their obvious difference in heritage my nail tech eventually warmed up after initially being curt with both myself and my 7 yr old. In a word, HORRIBLE. We arrived eight minutes late - and the guy at the front desk went off, demanding to know why we were late, and literally started yelling at us. I'm not even exaggerating. He was literally yelling because we were eight minutes late. If the salon had been busy, it MIGHT have been easier to understand, but there was only ONE customer there. The rest of the salon was completely empty. If *I* owned a nail salon that was sitting empty on a Saturday, I'd be glad to see ANY customers, eight minutes late or not. He was still ranting and raving after we left - we could hear him all the way out to our car. We found another place to get our nails done, as nice as could be, and even offered us a glass of wine. I visited Roses Nail Spa because I had been given a gift certificate. I have visited them in the past and always had good experiences. However, as of November 2025, they are under new management and have new staff. When I went to pay, I was told I could not use my gift card (purchased only a month ago by a family member) because "if we accept that, we will not make any money off of it." (The old owner, Snow, had issued the gift card.) They then said they would need to post a notification inside saying they were not going to accept any gift cards that had been purchased there before the new ownership. So if you have a gift card for there, I am sorry. The $50 gift card I have is completely worthless because Roses Nail Spa does not adhere to ethical business practices. They only care about the money, not the customers. The nail technician who did my nails was very sweet, though. She was a new employee, and I could tell she did not belong there. If you see this review, you deserve so much better. One of the other women was talking down to her right in front of everyone in the nail salon. The work culture seemed oppressive, and the environment was unprofessional. I do not recommend this nail salon. Additionally, my dip powder nails began chipping the next day. read more

A friend and myself walked in for 2 dip full sets, upon walking in staff asked "what do you want" very rudely we responded politely and asked if they had time for us, the man said "if you can wait" but was talking very quiet he then asked "what color" we asked him to repeat his question due to us not being able to hear him well he answered " you need to color match" and chuckled and started talking and making fun of us with the women whom he was servicing. Amazing amazing amazing! Will not go anywhere else! Recently moved to Cookeville and have been trying out a few places for my new "nail spot". Well I definitely just found it! FYI, Sunday's are walk in's only so if you want to get your nails done without a wait I recommend getting there at 12pm on the dot. I got there at 12:07pm and there were already three ladies having their nails done and one woman waiting. This is not a complaint at all, in fact it shows just how many people love this place seeing as how there was a line out the door practically of people wanting their nails done here. They offer to call you when it's almost your turn so you can grab lunch or shop in the mean time. I did not mind my wait at all, the space is lovely and well kept. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Ken was my nail technician and he was WONDERFUL! So fun to talk to and very friendly! He asked me several times throughout the process if I was happy with how my nails were turning out and if there was anything specific I wanted him to work on just to let him know. I was torn between matte finish and a shiny top coat and he let me try out both to see which I liked best. He also said if anything happens within the first few days to come back in and he'll take care of it. I have zero complaints and a million praises! I went here Friday early to get my nails done for my wedding.. I was excited because they do the nextgen nails that are "healthier" for your nails.. I went to Kim, who rushed through doing my nails and I wasn't very thrilled in the first place.. They honestly looked like they had been on for about two weeks and needed a filling but I was nice. It's now Tuesday and two of my nails are broken off and I haven't done anything other than laundry and get married. Pretty disappointed in the quality and the lack of care for customers. I'm sure there are many customer oriented people working at Roses, but...Ever heard of the bums rush? I decided to pamper myself and have a mani/pedi. I even called an made an appt but got the one over-achiever trying to make as much money in a day as possible. I was the last to the pedicure chair and first finished. I didn't get the relaxing leg massage or the hot towels, but my big toe bled for ten minutes with no antiseptic added, and it's so sore even wearing a sock hurts it. Moving on to the manicure...I got a bowl of iced cold tap water to soak, hah,,,no time to waste there although he spent the entire time chatting in Vietnamese to the woman employee next to him. So rude. I recently removed my fake nails and wanted my own evened out and polished. No relaxing hand stretches or massage, and only one coat of clear which is already peeling. Ushered to the drying table and abandoned until I asked if I had sat there long enough. When the English speaking person inquired about my experience, I told her about this missing hot towels and got only a " he forgot." 29 for the pedicure and 19 for the manicure. I could have kept my money and did a crappy job myself. Not going back and what I expected to be a relaxing time wasn't at all. And Lisa M... I wasn't offered anything to drink. I considered some of their permanent makeup but really? I'd be afraid I'd get the same guy and have eyeliner on my chin. read more

The experience I got at Roses was one of the best I have had a nail salon. The attendents to me and my mom were so polite and friendly. I was able to do a walk in for two pedicures. Something I have never seen before, a towel was provided for both myself and my mom because we were in dresses. Not sanitary! My mom and I went there for pedicures on Monday. We understood that it was busy, so we were patient as our water went cold. The staff were nice to us, and the products they used were all very gentle on my sensitive skin, but we will not be returning to this salon. While they do sanitize the metal tools used, they do NOT do anything of the sort with their multi-person pumice stones. By Wednesday my mother had gotten a huge wart! read more

Horrible experience. I got the nexgen nails which supposedly last 2-5 weeks but they started peeling off after 6 days. I went in to get them all taken off because it was looking horrible. Not only did they blame me, but they started yelling at me in front of the whole store. I wasn't even mad and I was very clear about this. But they took it personally. The TRUTH HURTS. So I came in this morning got my toes done. I had my daughter with me I was not going to get her toes done because the last time she was there and had I'm done And I also had her fingers done the last time I was there I neither one of them Didn't even last but an hour or two. So I didn't really want to waste the money if they're not gonna last. Anyways the chair I Set in did not even work No big deal I didn't say anything My daughter was set in a chair next to me and the owner/ boss came over and said If she's not going to get anything done I'm going to charge You $1 per minute she said some a chair So I said ok I'll get our toes done then I asked the guy If he would do her do her toes he said yeah I had her to go pick out a color then here I posted on Facebook about exactly what happened another guy was working on My daughter's toes she came over and jerk the nail file out of his hands and said you're done and looked at me and Said did you post something online about what happened and about how that your daughter's toes didn't last the last time and I said yeah I did and she goes well she setting him good using my electricity and the chair Cost $5000 although the very 1st time she said anything about it was it only cost a 1000 so I don't think she knows what she's talking about but I really don't see the problem and with all that because of the fact that my chair was not working I was not using any light tricity so my daughter was using the electricity that would have been coming from my chair Anyways she jerked the nail file out of his hand when he had it against my daughter's toe And she said you're done and yelled at me my daughter said what about my toes she's only 4 years old and she goes you're not getting your toes done here And in my four-year-old certifying she could have caused him to rip her toenail off into the quick and/or rip the skin by doing that And she's very lucky she didn't because She would have had a lawsuit on her hand at that point all I can say is karma will come back and take Care of it. And if you're going to have a business and if a person is unsatisfied and unhappy and you're gonna have an online access to your business a person can go on there and say whatever they want and that does not give the owner the right to come over and do what she did at all My daughter has had enough surgeries done on enough medical problems in her 4 little years of life and if she would hurt my daughter's toe I would have had taken her to the doctor and she would have to pay for her medical bills because I would pay for it she . I kept my cool I didn't blow up at her and go off and the only reason why I didn't was because my daughters are there so now I'm coming to Facebook I'm gonna tell the boss this because I know that she's reding this just because you do not like what somebody writes about your business on Facebook Or any online Review sites does not give you the right to show your backside like you did and you did you know that it was wrong how would you like it if I have a company like yours and your brought in your little daughter and I put your daughter's toes in danger like you did mine you would not like it what would have happened here he ripped her skin she could have gotten an infection in her toe he could a ripped it off into the quick her toenail and she could have gotten affection he could a ripped her entire toenail off that's not OK I am very angry I'm very tempted to report this whole incident To the Tennessee Better Business Bureau because it's not OK for you do that so four-year-old child read more

I went here this past Tuesday to get my nails done with next gen. It's said that this place was the only one in town doing next gen but then my coworker said that many nail salons now in Cookeville did next gen too. Well.... But I did not have a really good experience here because my next gen nails started to have scratches even though I have not been rough with my nails and broke one. Also, I went to a young lady (I dont remember her name) and asked for help: picking out a good color for me and she had an attitude. She was like " what if you dont like color blah blah blah..." Save yourself the time, pain, and headache and go somewhere else! I went to get a pedicure with my mom on Sunday. We went in and they asked if we could come back in 30 minutes. Fine, we were walk-ins so we understood. We came back after 30 minutes and they asked if we could come back in another 30 minutes... Before we could say anything another employee said, "we have already told them to come back in 30 minutes." I wish we would have just left at this point but we were told to grab a color and go to a pedicure chair. We took our seats and the women who did our pedicures were obviously not getting along with whoever was in charge... They complained about them, made comments back and forth to each other, and just really paid no attention to what they were doing. The one doing my mom's pedicure decided to take 3 personal calls about people going to jail and what not, making my mom's pedicure last 40 minutes longer than mine. Stay away! This place is a circus and in desperate need of management. I came in today for shellac nails. I was told to pick out my color and take a seat. Another group of people came in and they were told to do the same. Then everyone else that came thereafter were told to come back in 30 min. I sat there for an additional 30 min when 2 women they turned away came back they tried to tell them to come back in another 30 but they advised this is the 2nd time they have been there. So they proceeded to tell them to pick a color. Now I was there prior to these ladies coming in twice. My time is just as valuable. Then they proceed to seat these 2 women. I got up to put my nail selection back and the man looks up at me and I proceed to tell him I was here way before these ladies and he just says oh you were and looks down and keeps working. I proceed to tell him not only was I here before them but the other group of people sitting were too. He nor no one else says a word. No I'm sorry let me make this right. Absolutely filthy. I never saw any washing or sterilization of tools. And since I am a licensed cosmetologist, I KNOW what the laws are. I saw foot scrubbers rinsed in the bowl and thrown into the UV sterilizer. Law requires washing in hot soapy water and dried then placed in sterilizer....you cannot sterilize filth. I watched when he was done with me, got his plastic box of tools, went to the bathroom, and came right out. Not enough time to have scrubbed the tools, and did not put them in the sterilizer. the guy cut me three times and cut into the corners of my toenails, a big no no, this is what causes ingrown toenails. I also saw NO cleaning, not even a wash with soap, making a pretense of cleaning like some of them do, of the pedicure bowls. No, a quick rinse with the sprayer of water and that was it. These bowls are hotbed of disease. Warm, moist environment, then the skin and debris of the client makes for a good case of staph which CAN kill you. Law requires bowls be washed, rinsed and then disinfectant ran through for however long the product dictates. I got home and poured the peroxide to my feet for days after. I am having knee surgery and can't do my own, and had been here once before and at least they seemed to have disinfection of tools (they were in sealed pouches). Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. I was so disappointed in our pedicures today. My mom and I went to have a nice time and our nail technicians were rude, critical, and obnoxious. One in particular was the worst. The other just smiled and went along with her. We tried to be polite to them, but we're not treated with the same respect. The owner seems nice, but he needs to train his staff in customer service. I bought my wife a manicure and pedicure for Valentine's Day. She went the next week and it was busy so they told her to come back in thirty minutes. She did and they had taken other patients and told her it would me another thirty minutes. They made her feel horrible. She then made an for the next week. When she went at the time of her appointment, they put her feet in water and then let her sit there for 45 minutes. They then did a terrible job on her nails. She was so upset she was crying. Called and asked how the wait was for a pedicure, 20 minutes. Okay, cool, I'm right around the corner. Got there within 5 minutes. They took me to a chair within 5 minutes of being there. Lady started the water, too hot, so another lady turned it down. Put my feet in, another lady works on the water temp (again) and fixes my chair, etc. Then another client walks straight back to the chairs. The lady whom I thought was going to be working on me, started taking care of her. There were several ladies in the pedicure section when I got there and then they just kept leaving, going to get lunch, etc. Long story short, I was sitting in the chair for about 35-40 minutes with no help, the water was cold, etc. There was also a guy that had been doing a pedicure and when he finished, I was like oh finally! Nope. He started just walking around aimlessly and looking at other women's nails and commenting. I had somewhere I had to be. I walked out and not one person said anything. Great customer service (sarcasm of course). Wow. Never been so insulted that they didn't even want to keep a client from walking out. read more
