Over the next year, I decided to attend to my own dental care and did so conscientiously. Today, I went to a different, well established dentist, and received the same teeth cleaning, x-ray and check-up, and was told I needed ZERO fillings and there was no mention of the need for a crown. Interesting, right? SDP presents as skilled and caring, however, perhaps due to their overhead (massaging dental chairs and all), their diagnoses seem to edge towards self-serving. Buyer beware. Additionally, after a FULL YEAR, I have zero pain or sensitivity in any of the "problem areas" they had discovered. **The hygienist at SDP was excellent, as was the front desk staff, and, I do not doubt the skill of the dentists. Unfortunately, my perception of them is that they are more business oriented than "compassionate healer" oriented.

He is conservative and doesn't do expensive unnecessary treatments and try to up-sell like so many dentists these days. He (and his lovely hygienist and dental assistant) puts you at right at ease with his calming manner and is a very good and thorough dentist. He did an implant crown for me recently, and I was so anxious about the ordeal, since he was fixing another dentist's mistake. The quality of his work is terrific and he errs on the side of doing less versus trying to convince you to get too much work done. Not only did the appointment leave me feeling rushed, but my tooth actually hurt worse afterward than it did before the procedure. I was genuinely shocked, because I expected the issue to be resolved, not made more painful. At this point, I'm unsure about returning and would have appreciated more care, attention, and follow‑up regarding the discomfort I experienced. Then to make matters worst the practice double bill my insurance for the service this caused my benefits to go to zero dollars and I still had to pay out of pocket roughly 800.00 dollars.
