My husband and my eight year old son are avid fishermen and wanted to add fly fishing to their fishing repertoire. Scheduling was easy. He got back to me very quickly and was very responsive to my questions. The day of fishing was glorious. The weather was perfect! We had sweatshirts to wear in the morning, for which I was super thankful (I wish I had water shoes--that was the only thing I did not bring I wish I had. Tim had all the equipment needed including polarized sunglasses. He was organized, attentive, and so enthusiastic. We fished in several places including stocked and unstocked waters. My husband caught the first fish within an hour. Bobby caught the second. I even caught two! By the time we were done, they had caught so many! Each view Tim guided us to was better than the first. The water was pristine. I felt like I was going back in time and was far away from the cares of the world! Tim exceeded all expectations as our guide (and my expectations were high because I know him:)). He was so knowledgeable. My biggest thing, of course, was that he was so wonderful to our son. He answered every question with grace and patience. He got Bobby's line unstuck every time he got it stuck and did it patiently. He answered every question from whether or not he believed in Bigfoot to what was his second favorite freshwater fish. He also taught my husband some advanced things because he knew Dave was already a fisherman. If you or your family have any desire to learn about fly fishing, book with Tim!

My husband & I stumbled upon this park when looking for things to do in Fredericksburg. We will be…read morerelocating in the coming months & wanted to get to know the area! The park is pretty big. There are a ton of trails, picnic tables, playgrounds for the kiddos, & a stream that runs all the way through the park. It's a great spot to take family photos and to enjoy one with nature! We love taking our dogs & letting them play in the stream. We have only gone to the park during the fall/winter time, so I can only assume how busy it is in the summer. The trails are dog friendly & we always stumble upon a new trail when visiting (who wants to do the same trail over & over again? Not me!). If you bring the doggies, make sure to also pack a towel & some water. There is no dedicated water station for them. I can't recall if there are poop stations along the trails, so bring those too! I also recommend calling the park ahead of time to see if they are open. There are times after a heavy rainfall that the stream is too high to cross with a vehicle. In this case, you'll have to park on the outside of the park. Another big thing is you have to drive pass an apartment complex (kinda weird I know) in order to enter the park. Don't be alarmed though! You will definitely see the park entrance if you keep going. I give this park a 5 star because it never disappoints. There is always something to do & my fur babies love it. I will definitely be back & can't wait to check it out in the summer! If you are in the Fredericksburg area, go to Alum Spring Park & enjoy the beautiful nature views!

Not simply because he was running late, but because the house (castle/waiting room/party room) was absolutely filthy. I was really taken aback by a business looking like this, even if it's a business that works w/ animals. When we got there, the owner and assistant were on a ride w/ another group. Then the group we were supposed to be riding with were an hour late, so we had to wait for them. It was just annoying, although Steven (owner) was friendly. When we walked into the empty house it looked like a construction space, a hen was walking around the inside and I even saw it poop IN THE KITCHEN! Things finally turned around when I hopped on Sherman (my white horse w/ black spots). He was a greedy little thing and ate up all the grass but he was a great horse. Steven immediately put ppl on the horses and taught us while we were riding. He was a straight to it teacher and I liked that. He definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to animals. He took a bunch of pictures and videos and sent them to everyone in the group. I'm thankful to have such awesome pictures that didn't cost us extra. I'm giving 4 stars despite the filth because Steven was friendly, welcoming, and I enjoyed the experience. Tip: -don't eat there if germs bug u -don't arrive early, there's no point -yes, you're in the right spot, even though it looks a little funky on the outside
