Terrible finished product, at twice the bidded price…read more Upon calling Joe for a bid, he requested the address so he could come out and look at the site before bidding it. (The work site was accessible from the alley so we we didn't need to be home for him to review it). A week later, I texted and asked if he'd been by, and if he had any questions. He sent a bid, which was lower than others and we booked him for the work. On the day of, Joe announced that he was charging us twice as much because he didn't know there was any demo/paver removal involved- which he would know if he'd looked at the site before bidding the project. We were frustrated but agreed because the timing was critical for the next phase of our project. The bid was for 8" deep, with rebar. I came out when he was 1/3 of the way into the pour to discover Joe was pouring 2"-6" deep, with no rebar. When I questioned him, he flatly lied and said it was 8" depth until I offered to get a measuring tape, at which point he admitted it wasn't. He then tried to pour using our uneven pavers as the form. When confronted he noted he'd use an even edge- we afterward discovered he used lumber from our property for framing the pour. There are so many more issues, I wont outline them all. The end result cost twice as much as originally bid, and may need to be jackhammered out so that it can be poured correctly.

The old driveway was removed on Friday. On Monday the forms and rebar was installed. Then the cement truck arrived and the concrete was spread evenly 6 inches deep. The surface was smoothed out evenly. Then, Coca-Cola was sprayed over the surface which prevented the top layer of cement to harden. Later in the day, Joe returned and washed the top layer of concrete away exposing the aggregate. The finished product looked exactly as Joe said it would.

After a tour and explanation of products offered they invited us to stay through the hands on portion. Brenden created a sample board in the warehouse of our 2 favorite colors which was very impressive. The workshop was so informative 4 hours passed without us realizing. The hesitation we initially felt about installing epoxy flooring was gone when we left. I recommend the classes & workshops offered here. Great value-as they provide ongoing education which allows you to retake classes as needed. An important side note: JR worked through the entire process of the Elite Crete System with our contractor, advising & trouble shooting from start to finish. The customer service provided went above & beyond our expectations. We credit the success of our project to his instruction and communication with us & our contractor.

There is not one question you could ask him that he doesn't have the answer for and you can tell by the confidence in his voice and expression that he does in fact know his product and the application to the substrate that you are faced with. He knows which product to use, how much product you need, how long it will take to apply it. The preparation of the substrate, how big a crew will be needed, the best atmospheric conditions to look for, design and art work, the condition of new and existing substrates, how to protect the final finish and how long you can expect it to last plus he will assist you in any technical issues, train you on installation, even provide you with the information to become your own certified business, contractor or crew. You can attend his on hands classes over and over and never be bored in his class ever. He has a great sense of humor is polite as anybody can be, runs a tight no bs instruction that is never boring and is so well organized that it is amazing. Now back to product durability I created a sample board in one of his classes about 9 years ago I have since used this 1/4 inch cement backer board for the entry mat of the ADU i built in my backyard for over 5 years yes its taken me 5 yrs to build this structure alone myself anyway this flexible and not so durable piece of cement backer board has never chipped cracked or blemished and is still to this day in one piece and has never showed signs of wear from rocks mud the elements. Incredible durability and only a 1/8 in thick its not only a durable surface but the board itself would have crumbled to pieces had it not been for the this thin coat of elite Crete systems colored layered textured product that looks like real brick and performs like brick if not better. Think I am over hyping this review call me and i will personally assure you that while i am 100% positive about this whole thing i am completely sincere as well and have no financial, personnel, business, professional gains to be whatsoever. This review is designed or written to assure you that this product and this representative of this product is your best choice for any decorative overlay that you could find no doubt. You want to ask me to verify I have given JR the permission to selectively give my number to a prospective client that wants verification that I am sincere and not being compensated for this review. why because the consumer has to sift through so much bullshit information to make informed decisions on products these days and still risks getting ripped off by crappy products and lying reps and bad customer service that this company deserves to be listed as trustworthy honest no bullshit, best in industry, model business operations and ethics friendly, concerned. Im serious and no i am not in this business regretfully. I have nothing to gain by this other than good carma promoting a business that deserves it and providing piece of mind to the consumer who is looking to spend hard earned money for the best available product and has experienced the difficulty of such research and decision making .

They are honest, open, communicative, and work like crazy to get the job done! Bill does really high quality work - he always explains in detail how he's tackling the job and sends a ton of photos so you can see what he and his team are doing at every step. One of my retaining walls (see photos) is in a really precarious location on a public sidewalk next to a busy street, but Bill and his team were able to handle it like true professionals. He estimated the work would take a few weeks, but after assessing the situation he decided that they needed to get the sidewalk cleared as quickly as possible so that people could walk by, so he brought in reinforcements and finished this wall in three days. Three days!!! No exaggeration - the "before" photo was taken on a Thursday, and the "after" photo was taken on Saturday! I have no idea how he pulled that off, but I so appreciate that he worked so hard to get the wall done quickly and cleaned up the area perfectly so that my neighbors wouldn't get mad at me :D Long story short, I feel really well taken care of by Bill and Sue - they treat you like family and I absolutely love my new "hawaiian style" wall :) Mahalo Bill and Sue!

Fortunately, we met Ivan at Chable's Concrete who was an absolute delight to work with. He showed up on time for our appointment, offered us several great solutions for our challenging backyard (which is narrow, and slightly sloped), and promptly sent an estimate. He understood our plan that seemed puzzling to other companies. When we made changes, it was no problem. Ivan came by the next day to measure, finalize the design, and answer any other questions we had. He scheduled our installation the following week. Day one of our project, Ivan and Rodger excavated, leveled the site, and laid the forms. Day two, he poured cement and created a beautiful custom patio design. Ivan and Jenni were so communicative and personable. They made this project effortless. Their pricing was fair and reasonable. And what we agreed to is what we paid. We are asking them back for future projects. It is so refreshing to find genuinely friendly, ethical, drama-free companies who do beautiful, precise work and respect their customers' time. Ivan is a creative problem-solver. Do not hesitate to give him a call.

Writing this for my Dad as he isn't on Yelp but his experience was bad enough that I felt compelled…read moreto leave a review. My Dad first contacted Forrest about having a bay in the addition to his shop poured a few weeks back at the recommendation of a friend. The floor of the rest of the shop was poured 6in thick with fiber mixed in. My Dad didn't want any cracks and wasn't afraid to pay for overkill to ensure that. Forrest agreed and asked my Dad to get ahold of a third party to bring in a line pump to get the concrete in. This became overly complicated as my Dad doesn't do concrete and didn't want to be responsible for coordinating the concrete pump, the truck, and Forrest all showing up at the right time with the right stuff. Forrest then said a friend would bring a pump to simplify things. A date was set and here we are, Thursday night before Forrest was to come pour tomorrow morning. Forrest texted my Dad that he needed to text him that he will pay him $1500 cash tomorrow and continually insisted that my Dad didn't need that thick of concrete and that it's suspicious that he would need concrete to that spec and that the concrete company is asking what my Dad is doing that he needs concrete like that. And then told my Dad he was being "sketchy." And then insinuated that the concrete that was poured before was not to the same spec. (Despite there not being a single crack or issue with the existing concrete). We're not buying massive quantities of ammonium nitrate or something here... Unless there is some sort of insidious use for thick concrete I'm not aware of, I can't see any reason why someone wouldn't want to upsell especially at the customer's request. My Dad contacted Forrest to get this done 3 weeks ago only to end up here. 3 more weeks behind on an already way behind schedule shop addition. Do not recommend...

His team had done the bioswales for the city of Portland in my neighborhood two years prior, a positive endorsement. He was professional , timely in our meeting and getting back to me with a bid. Unfortunately, I hired another contractor with essentially the same bid only because he could start the project a week or so earlier. The driveway turned out very poorly, was not evenly graded, sloped in places toward the house, water pooled in spots, the finish and edges were sloppy and he had not included metal grating in the concrete as he said he had. There was also concrete on my house splattered from the pour and he left the forms for me to dispose of. Later in the summer I contacted Daniel to remove and repour the driveway. He gave me a bid of $7800 which I felt extremely fair considering this included the additional work of concrete removal. Daniel was always available by text as we coordinated timing and was al. They removed my driveway on September 25th and from that point spent several rainy days setting up forms, grading the soil/ mud and adding gravel. The pour date was difficult to pin point as we were into October and I felt strongly that I needed to be home during the pour especially after the last mishap. He understood my worries about this, answered my questions and kept his eyes on the weather. They were able to pour on the 15th of October, on a beautiful sunny day with warm days to follow. His crew of 5 arrived at 8 and worked through mid afternoon perfecting the finish, edging and seam details. The process was fascinating to watch and it was clear these men worked well as a team and knew what they were doing. They were respectful of my property, covered the house with plastic, listened when I asked questions and brought up concerns (such as the gate clearance over the concrete) and responded accordingly. I now have a lovely driveway and would absolutely hire Santiago Concrete again.
