The pluses were the ambience and decor: typically what you would expect from a new entrant into the Brixton restaurant - cool, hipster vibe, cocktails.
Albeit my partner compared it to Clapham so maybe not.
However, the search for great Thai food in London continues. This was more form over function: Food was ok but nothing stood out as amazing.
We had the chicken wings to start which were well marinated and perfectly fried. No rubbery chicken skin here! But ultimately, the dish did not pack the punch expected and I really didn't want the side of sweet chilli sauce to try and make up the difference. This sauce seems to accompany every dish in every mediocre Asian restaurant London. (Big secret: most Asian people don't eat this)
The noodles with gravy needed more seasoning and the gravy needed more thickener to actually cling to the noodles to give them flavour. We also had the sizzling spicy seafood hotplate which was neither sizzling nor spicy. Overall, a disappointing meal.
Would I go back? No. there are other places in Brixton that serve better food. But if you want Thai, this is a decent default. read more
