I love to find a mom and pop place I could be loyal to but I am afraid my first experience was just ok. I had no problem waiting a hour and 10 mins because they weee very busy. The staff were very nice when I came to pick up my food. So no problems like others have stated in past reviews. We all have good days and bad days so I never judge the experience on staff alone. The Food: The veal parm sandwich with salad was ok- the veal was prepared properly as it was soft and moist ( they must of soaked it in milk). The flavor- was ok and the bread was very good and held up as a sandwich. The Zucchini Fries were tasteless and a great deal of water came through every bite. They were not seasoned properly- it is almost like you have to over season to help with not just taste but to absorb the water from the veg. The combo appetizers were also not seasoned. In a good note, the cheese sticks were nice. The wings were very small and dry, not enough sauce on them. The mushrooms held up well. Would I go again, I think I will try because of the good reviews I have read on YELP. Also the pizza being made right in the front looked good. I hate leaving harsh reviews but maybe it could he taken not as negative but helpful.

That said, our server was very attentive and took our orders promptly. My two kids both ordered the special of the day, a short rib ramen, while my wife chose the chicken salad sandwich. I ordered their take on a French dip sandwich. The food was good overall, certainly enjoyable and well-prepared, but nothing really stood out as particularly memorable. While I appreciated the friendly service, the overall experience didn't leave a strong impression on me. It was a decent lunch, but I'm not sure I would make a point of returning on a future visit to the area.

The space is minimalist and gives old fashioned turn of the 20th century vibes. There's obviously a lot of pride and a commitment to local foods here. We ordered the night's cocktail special the New York Sipper -yum- the Raquette salad, two of the small (not small at all) plates that were on special that night: the creamy barley risotto and the butternut squash and mushroom parpadella. As a main course, we shared the house-made mushroom burger, savory and flavorful. Everything was fantastic, with many earthy, fresh and delicious flavors and a variety of textures. We clearly ordered too much food, since the small plates were actually full portion-size. Skipped dessert, although the special was tiramisu. They're under a lot of pressure to compete in Potsdam, but they're doing something that shows classical training and a commitment to quality. Several Finger Lakes wines on the list. Prices are astonishingly low for such an excellent meal. Note: tip is included and there were no "lighter" meats like poultry or fish on the menu. Thus the great vegetarian options, I assume.

I'm a vegetarian, and so for myself I got a small Fresh Tomato, which is garlic sauce, mozzarella, and tomato on top. It was most excellent! The crust was sweeter than I was expecting, and the sauce was tangy and garlicky. Our one Miss from this place was we got the garlic knots. I had seen on a different reviewing website that someone had said they were awful, so I knew we had to get them and find out. They were not awful! They were actually not really what I think of as garlic knots. As you can see in the picture, they are small knots of dough, but the dough was sweet, like fried dough. We all agreed that if you put cinnamon sugar on them, they would be just like fair food fried dough. Not bad at all but not what we were expecting. Most of the garlic sauce had slid off of them, so you kind of had to scoop it up. Overall, we enjoyed this place a lot and will be back! A great local find.
