History

Established in 1987.

In 1987 Rosannes was born bearing my and my daughter's middle name. Willow Rosanne was my one year old and still works in the business now. And luckily, my three year old, grew up and gave us our web tech, his wife, Stacey. Rosannes opened on Main Street of Parkston, SD providing a fashion center and an employment opportunity for our area. Besides bringing great, affordable fashions to our clientele, we loved employing young moms, grandmas and high schoolers who had an interest in fashion and/or business. In 2000, with the internet rising, we decided to give an online store a try. It opened a whole new selling demographic but also a whole new business plan that had to be learned on the fly. By 2004, we found that only one sales platform was manageable and the physical store was closed. Today we continue to bring the best of fashions at affordable prices to our clientele. We've made great friends and learned so much, thanks to you, our customer.

Meet the Business Owner: Linda S.

I started life in Minnesota but have spent most of my years in South Dakota where I went to high school and college. The groundwork for Rosannes was laid during my years at SDSU where I studied textiles and clothing with a retailing option. I remember my longest speech was given on mail order. Pretty close to today's online retail! But who'd have guessed that then? While in college, I married my lifelong partner, Doug, who is today in charge of shipping after retiring from organic farming for 25 years. During my early years I worked in retail for JC Penney's, Herbergers and Earthways in Alaska. A little time in the newspaper industry helped with future advertising skills and so it all added together. Today I work from home and wake up every day looking forward to working with beautiful clothing and wonderful people. We're a family owned and operated business committed to helping our customers find just what they need.
