The family and I really enjoyed the photos Tomas captured of us in our natural state while we were getting ready. He made it easy for us to get our hair and makeup done while getting some great photos of us at the same time. My husband and I are also very happy with how our wedding photos came out. Tomas was willing to take photos of us all throughout the venue, inside and outside the different areas, and it brought a versatile look to our album. From a commerce perspective, Tomas was easy to work with and would regularly communicate with us via email since we were based out of the United States. We are glad we choose him as our photographer and would highly recommend. Devin & Juan

As well as I came back for a few nights at the end of my trip in Ireland. Rooms are lovely and huge and well appointed. Restaurant is beyond delicious and the Irish breakfast buffet is bountiful, decadent And delicious. The staff throughout the hotel and restaurant make you feel pampered and important. Also everyone is very informative with information on things to do in the general area and day trips. Countryside is lovely and charming and a true castle is across the way ..

An excellent experience here at The Step House Hotel…read more The staff really excelled and were very helpful. We were staying nearby Borris and needed to find somewhere to watch Ireland play in the Six Nations. Cue the Step House. As we were stragglers in terms of arriving in time, we still managed to find some good seats. There was a good crowd and a great atmosphere here for the rugby. A bit of banter with one of the barmen during the game paid off post match when he sorted us out with a table for some dinner. Then he waited on us really fantastically. Really attentive. And the food was great too.

In the last few years I've been here now four times for events with three overnight stays…read more It's a lovely hotel with friendly staff and very good service. They always managed well to cater for the events that were big enough. The restaurant (The Fitzmaurice) is very good. Seeing that I was there for big events (300ish people) I was very impressed how they managed to organise and serve dinner and lunch and very good quality. Breakfast is Full Irish (self-service) with everything you can expect (fried egg, scambled eggs, mushrooms, tomato, black and white pudding, baked beans and hash) or you can get continental breakfast. The conference room and the surrounding facilities are friendly and comfortable. And free wi-fi is always nice to have these days. I didn't get to try their spa yet. Only three stars might be a bit mean. But I twice got a room that wasn't up to standard. Once (two years ago) is was a very small one and not very inviting - this obviously might have change by now. This time I was on the third floor in a lovely room to the back. Luckily I couldn't hear the trains on the rails just behind the hotel. But I got the impression this floor doesn't get used a lot (which is fair enogh in these times). The locker in the room didn't work. I suppose the batteries had dies. I mentioned it at reception. I didn't make it urgent so I wasn't surprised when that wasn't fixed by the time I left the next day but somehow I still kindo expected it. The heating wasn't on at all on the third floor it seems. Which I first thought is nice as I hate overheated rooms. But it got quite chilly during the night. Luckily I found a blanket in the wardrobe. And when I wanted to have a shower the next morning I absolutely couldn't switch it on. And I consider myself strong.

Amazing hotel with big roomy halls and great mattresses (this matters a ridiculous amount to me…read moregiven the traveling I do). In the last two years, it has come under new ownership which is on-site. The staff are over-the top friendly and attentive, and often surprise me by remembering me by name. It's very clean and the rooms are incredible. We got a junior suite which had a living room, two bathrooms and a bedroom. A welcome brownie and berries were a nice surprise in our room upon our arrival. I have only had a pedicure at the spa, but plan on going back next trip. Would absolutely return.

This post is a little different from most here, in that I'm not writing a review of this business,…read morebut rather providing testimony to the decency of the man that runs it. A few weeks ago, while on vacation in Ireland, my wife, sister and I found ourselves impossibly lost on the streets of Kilkenny. Spotting a commercial work vehicle, parked temporarily, across a neighborhood courtyard, I drove over to it, to ask for directions. The person behind the wheel, whom I'm assuming was Tony, not only provided us with directions, he took it upon himself to escort us to our destination a good mile away, through complicated city streets. We followed his work van every foot of the way, and when split up by traffic on a couple occasions, Tony pulled over to assure we were still behind him. Turns out our destination (our room for the night) was quite tucked away, and without Tony's assistance I'm not sure we would have ever found it. I used to be a house painter myself, long ago. I can't attest to this company's professionalism, but I know from my own experience in the same line of work, a person, after working a long, exhausting day, who would still go that far out of their way at the end of it, to help a total stranger in need, almost without question would provide top-notch service to a paying customer.
