First, I have to say that the #4 juice is great and the chocolate banana bread is great. I have been coming to this juicery everyday for 3 weeks as it's right near by workplace. I also go to the Gluten free bakery next door (Beyond Bread. Favorite place ever! Go there!) everyday during school and get something from there. I've spent about 30 pounds every single day. Yesterday, I bought extra juices and shots and brought them to work with me. I left them in the work fridge overnight, and someone inadvertently unplugged it, so that when I went back this morning, everything I bought was room temperature. I went in and asked if, out of the nearly 50 POUNDS I spent yesterday, I could exchange one of the juices that had been ruined for a new one. I assumed that, given that I've spent nearly 700 quid in this place that they would exchange my juice that got ruined. I ALSO explained that I have a poor immune system and cancer history so it's not advisable for me to ingest something that may have bacteria. Clearly, it is not the owner's fault that my juices got ruined, but I was only asking for one to be exchanged and I also purchased a new one the same day. When I explained all of this to the employee, who seemed understanding, and then the owner walked up and asked what my issue was. I saw this woman for THE FIRST TIME yesterday, when I was eating lunch there. She had her dog in the restaurant, which seemed unsanitary to me, but that's another story. She told me that the juice situation was my problem and that she wouldn't exchange the juice. I explained everything I said above, and she was shockingly rude and said she didn't care and that it was my problem again and again.
First of all, it's just bad business to not do something small for a customer who has been to your establishment EVERY SINGLE DAY for 3 weeks. Secondly, she had the audacity and poor judgement (not knowing details) to say that she saw me eating food from another establishment (the food from the 100% gluten free bakery next door) in her establishment "multiple times" and that this was not allowed and she was going to say something to me about it. Meanwhile, I only did that the ONE time I saw her, when she had her dog in the restaurant, and I had to because the gluten free bakery only allows 100% gluten free items inside because of cross contamination issues, which I completely understand as I have celiac disease. The previous days, I ate outside or only ate food from Roots. Even if I had, if I'm spending 30 pounds in your establishment, that's not your concern.
I am actually amazed that this woman still has a working business, given her poor customer service, poor business acumen, and overall extremely inappropriate behavior. I am a human being. Treat me as such! Something must have happened to her in her life to make her a miserable person, and for that I feel bad.
I will 100% NEVER GO BACK to this juice place, and unfortunately, I assume the more she's there, the more frequently things like this will happen. The people working there, other than the owner, are so nice. Definitely stay away from a pretentious French woman with a dog. I feel so bad for her employees. Hopefully something happens to make her change her worldview and general behavior. read more
